Started watching kdramas 1.5 years ago and this is still my favorite. Everytime I rewatch it, it makes me feel so good. I need more like it. Best KD couple of all time. Best looking KD couple of all time. Jukyoung is adorable. Suho is very handsome. Great music. Great supporting cast. Best KD romance of all time imo. People, ratings are MEANINGLESS. It's all about how a show makes you feel. Everyone is different. Any recs for something similar?
Haven't watched it but I will give it a try. Also, just block the haters. Don't let them waste your time. They have miserable lives and just want to bring others down or want to tear down kdramas to promote dramas from their own country.
Looking at Netflix Top 10 today, it is quite amazing that there are 3 South Korean TV shows, and 1 from Thailiand.Considering…
Remember, these high ratings are without Latin Americans, who will get to view LND Aug 31. Latam gets kdramas later because of dubs which take some time. Ratings should be even higher on Aug 31.
Only two Korean shows in the chart, Boy next door and Romance in the house as of August 22, 2024, at 12PM from…
" Don't forget that over half of the USA and Europe can't stand all the locally produced woke crap so it makes sense they'll look further afield for something to watch" So true. English language content used to be the best by far. Now, I don't even watch it. Simply woke and unwatchable. It's just unbelievable how bad english content has become. I'll always have Lord of the Rings and other epic movies.
Loving it so far. Lots of laughs. To me, a good kdrama is one that I can rewatch and this fits that category. Have never seen the FL before (KD newbie) but she makes the show for me. Beautiful, funny. Looks totally like Kim Jiwon. I really wish good kdramas didn't happen on Sat and Sundays. Any other days would be better. Helps us get through the week. I remember Marry My Husband came out Mondays and Tuesdays. That's the best time for a kdrama to come out. It just makes the Mondays and Tuesdays, usually the worst days of the week, so much better. There's a reason Monday Night Football is so big in the US.
However, I'm sure Singapore offers more treatment than South Korea as you say. It can afford to. It is the second wealthiest country per capita. But apart from the extra treatment it gives, Singapore's drug policy is almost identical to Korea's and alot of Asia's. Most western countries are also much wealthier than South Korea per capita, so they can afford to give treatment which is very expensive. Yet I see many westerners come here and condemn Korea for not treating drug addicts more and being more "compassionate.". Korea simply does not have the wealth that western countries have. Korea is doing the best it can with its smaller resources. I hope people can realize that Korea used to be one of the poorest countries in the world. In the 1960s, its average income was $100 due to the Korean War. Before that it was occupied and oppressed by Japan for many decades. Korea was a poor country for a long time. They know the value of money, and they're very careful with how they spend it. Korea is not trying to be cruel to drug addicts by not offering treatment. They are using their limited resources on where they believe it is most effective. But even with the billions spent on treatment, is it really effective? The stats are clear. While over a hundred thousand people die of drug overdose in western countries every year, the number in Asia is miniscule. Western drug policy does not work. The tough approach saves lives.
In 2023 alone, 107,500 people died in the US to drug overdose. Here in Canada, the toll is similar. 42,494 died from drug overdose between 2016 and 2023. Keep in mind, our population is roughly 1/9th of America's. Almost every year the death toll keeps rising. Western drug policy is not just a failure. It's a catastrophe and people should be under no illusion that it is effective. Figures for East Asia are not available, but it's safe to assume that the numbers are minuscule by comparison. The tough approach is utilized by East Asia, Middle East, and other parts of the world. In India, the NDPS Act of 1985 takes a prohibitionist approach and imposes stringent penalties for drug offenses. In Singapore, drug dealers are executed and drug addicts are arrested. No wonder they have one of the lowest drug addiction rates in the world. The tough approach SAVES LIVES. The old adage holds true, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Here come the "tough on drugs" idiots. People doing drugs will never stop; it has been a thing for centuries.…
Do you not know that alcohol abusers are 10 times harder to treat than drug addicts? That is what I have read from health professional. Please educate yourself before making ignorant statements. The tough approach is the only one that works. The West is crumbling due to its lax laws. This is where your cities are headed if you are not tough on drugs and crime. Have fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WijoL3Hy_Bw

What is amazing is that she's way more beautiful now than at age 22.
