Title Love in the Clouds Spoiler
Honestly pretty good series but would be better if the second male lead wasn't an absolute simp with no thoughts…
It’s understandable that most people think he turned evil because he couldn't stop loving her, but I see it a bit differently.

The SL’s family is literally cursed everyone born into it is greedy, selfish, unhealthily ambitious and obsessed with domination. SL was born without spiritual veins, bullied, and made to believe that as a weakling, he deserved it. But Ming Xian changed that perspective.

He dreamt of flying again, not just because Ming Xian told him to, but because he had always wanted to. His ambitious nature had been suppressed by years of oppression, and Ming Xian reignited that fire within him. He began to believe that without Ming Xian, that part of him would disappear, and he’d go back to being the weakling he once was. That’s how his obsession with Ming Xian was born.

Because he believed Ming Xian was male, he didn't think his emotions as romantic. But even if Ming Xian truly were male, I think his obsession would’ve evolved slowly. His mind was conditioned to believe that without Ming Xian, he himself would cease to exist.

After realizing Ming Xian was a woman, his obsession evolved even faster, because to him marriage meant possession, and that’s what he wanted all along. SL stayed kind only because of Ming Xian, he knew what kind of person she was and feared that if he ever revealed even a trace of darkness, she would abandon him.

We can also see that every time he was with Ming Yi, he acted like an obedient, gentle boy, deliberately hiding his calculating side. He only wanted her to see the best version of him, hoping she would eventually fall for that image (Lu Yuxiao actually mentioned something similar too). He was never truly selfless with Ming Yi. Every action he took was driven by the expectation that it would bring them closer, and to achieve that, he was even willing to guilt trip her. But once he realized he could never possess Ming Yi, his self-preservation instinct took over, and everything spiraled out of control.

she doesn’t want to make him choose and she knows that he’ll defy his master’s last wish and give her the…
I think there are many reasons behind her actions, but the simplest answer is this:
Not only does she want to avoid putting him in a difficult position, but she has also stopped seeing herself as Ming Yi. To her, she is now Ming Xian, someone bound by duty and responsibility.
After all, what future could there be for a love between a crown prince who is actually a woman, and the strongest warrior from the enemy realm?
She believes that once she steals the antidote, Ming Yi will cease to exist, and only Ming Xian will remain and that JBZ will eventually forget her. Because the only love she ever received since childhood was conditional, she believes that after her betrayal, no love will remain.
But things don’t go as planned, JBZ stops her from stealing it. Ming Xian, being someone who always accepts the consequences of her actions, doesn’t try to explain herself or make excuses. She simply accepts death… but then, you know what happened.

Title Love in the Clouds Spoiler
I think he truly fell in love with her when he heard her say, “I will live on with JBZ,” in episode 11.
In the first few episodes, it’s more like, “Can I trust her?” He’s someone who wants to trust but doesn’t dare to, so he guards himself. Even though he knows Ming Yi lies often, he can still feel the sincerity behind her words and actions, which makes him question again, “Can I really trust her?” Their constant teasing and pretending gradually brought them closer without either of them realizing it. At some point, it stopped feeling like an act their interactions became natural, almost instinctive. Yet even then, he still kept his walls up. When he agreed to marry her, it was out of love, but deep down, there were still traces of doubt within him.

But when he heard her say, “I will live on with JBZ,” he felt the true sincerity from her and it shattered his defenses instantly. Until then, he had walls that kept him from truly trusting her or allowing himself to fall in love. But from that moment on, he let those walls fall.

At that moment, Ming Yi hadn’t yet realized that she loved him, but I don’t think her words were fake or said just to get out of that situation. They felt instinctive words that came straight from her heart. Also Lu Yuxiao said, Ming Yi’s body realized her love for him first, and it took some time for her heart to truly understand that she had already fallen for him.

I respect genuine criticism, but pure hate never helps anyone or anything. You can read the comment or ignore it, totally up to you. I just talked about a few things that some people have been bringing up.

I agree the story follows a somewhat generic structure, and while being generic isn’t inherently bad, a drama without its own flavor or charm is where the real problem lies. This drama, however, has its own unique flavor and magical charm that the entire LITC team brought to life.

I’ve been following C-dramas for almost four years, have seen a fair number of them, and listened to many banger OSTs, and I still think this drama’s soundtrack did its job beautifully. Unlike most C-dramas that blast scenes with unnecessarily loud and over the top music, this one mostly uses soft tones to enhance the mood. It doesn’t try to overdo or underplay.

As for the acting, I think that Hou Minghao still needs more development before he can be called a complete actor, but he portrayed Ji Bozai’s role very well to the point that it feels impossible to imagine someone else as JBZ.

JBZ is someone who expresses his sadness and pain mostly through silence, even in his most devastating moments. When he discovers what happened to the prisoners and the girl he sent away, he trembles a bit, he doesn’t say anything, doesn’t cry or scream, he just slams the ground. Yet Ming Yi, who is usually emotionally strong, feels his pain and inner turmoil and sheds tears from the shared pain, I think she only feels a part of it and not the full extent.

After he returns to his place, he remains silent and quietly cries only when Ming Yi hugs him. If Ming Yi hadn’t been there, he would’ve simply stayed silent that whole night and gone straight back to planning how to make Mu Qibai suffer.

I could go on about his character, how well Hou Minghao portrayed it, and how expressive his eyes were. But most people watch dramas just to have some fun and don’t invest themselves deeply in them and I understand that. It would’ve been nice if I were like that too, but I’m not.

I’m just writing this mainly for others who might take a moment to think about it.

I saw a few comments saying Ming Yi would’ve fallen in love with Situ Ling if JBZ hadn’t been there. I’m not sure about the novel, but the Ming Yi from the drama would never see Situ Ling as a potential love interest, even if JBZ weren’t in the picture. It just wouldn’t happen, she doesn’t reciprocate the kind of love Situ Ling offers. You can clearly see how differently JBZ and Situ Ling treat her. Situ Ling’s love represents a cage, while JBZ’s love represents freedom and respect. Situ Ling does give Ming Yi the first choice, but only as long as it serves his own interests. JBZ, on the other hand, is genuinely different. Even if JBZ didn’t exist, Ming Yi still wouldn’t have fallen for Situ Ling, no matter how devoted or self-sacrificing he was. She fell in love with JBZ for the man he is, not because he would die for her.

At ep 23. Have been thoroughly enjoying this. but, they lose me with really twisted logic of why she won't just…
There are many reason behind her choice.

1) Ming Yi is a flawed character, and that was clear from the beginning. She grew up believing that everything was her fault and that no one else was to blame. The only care she ever received came from her pet and master, but even they couldn’t break through her shell.

2) To us, a promise might not seem like a big deal and can be compromised, but Ming Yi isn’t that kind of person. She would never break a promise, especially to the one who saved her life and taught her everything. She sees JBZ’s promise to his master as something sacred one he would rather die than break. So she simply can’t bring herself to let him go through that.

3) As for hurting him by stealing, she still carries the belief that everything is her fault and that she has no one but herself to blame. She thinks he’ll forget her quickly. She knows he loves her deeply but doesn’t realize the impact she has on him, that’s how low her self-esteem is.

4) At that moment, she isn’t thinking as Ming Yi but as Ming Xian, the warrior who must return to her realm and reclaim her rightful place. She believes their relationship isn’t meant to be.

It’s simply her way of thinking.

5) She lived her whole life behind a false persona, focused solely on winning the tournament because her mother said so. Nothing else mattered to her.

For someone like her, dealing with emotions isn’t easy. When she actually tried to steal it, she realized how deeply he loved her — but by then, it was too late. And being someone who always blames herself, she isn’t the type to make excuses; she just accepts the consequences.

I could go on with many more reasons behind her actions, but I’ll stop here.

I want to talk about the OST, I watched this drama right after FOF, and since the OST there was a banger, I expected the same level of quality from LITC. At first, I wasn’t satisfied with the music in the initial episodes, but then it slowly grew on me. I didn’t even realize when I started loving it. Unlike most C-dramas that blast emotional scenes with loud choruses, which completely pull me out of the moment, LITC used soft BGMs that beautifully enhanced the emotions instead. I really hope they release the OST, it’s honestly one of my favorites.

But why is he so powerful? He didn't have a spiritual vein and didn’t have any training until late. Did they…
I think the spiritual veins he gained from the poison are strong, which allowed him to grow much faster than others. As for the training, he might have trained the basics and many important spells from his master and later self-trained.

I'm watching five dramas now, and the content from earlier episodes is kinda messed up in my memory.

I will re-watch "LITC" when it finishes airing.

I said that her attraction began first because, initially, she didn't care about his true character and only wanted to obtain the GMD. However, upon realizing that something deeper was going on, she understood that JBZ might not be so simple, which subsequently deepened her interest.

The fake relationship I was referring to is not the point when JBZ declared he would choose MY, but the from moment when they both agreed to the fake act.

Two things:1. Will the leads get power boosts to Perfect Stage or whatever, of cultivation after being cured?…
MY's attraction to JBZ began even before their fake relationship. However, JBZ was the first to trust MY. During the fake relationship, MY's initial attraction slowly deepened into love. JBZ, fell in love first and faster because he believed MY was genuinely in love with him and was willing to do anything to ensure his safety.

MY's situation was different. She had a "countdown for death" running inside her head, and her whole identity thing, causing her to ignore her growing feelings. It wasn't until the fight against the "fox boy" that she truly understood the depth of her emotions. From that moment on, she actively tried to suppress those feelings, but failed miserably.

It was never about the SL; even without him, she would have done the same. However, with the SL present, the game the ML is playing geared up, so her reaction became more apparent. If you think her actions are because of SL's presence in front, then you are completely wrong.

forcing someone to drink something is not wrong to you? Then I don't know what is your view of right and wrong…
He is doing things with the clear goal of benefiting from it. Right after he woke up, he held her hands despite her obvious discomfort, then guilt-tripped her into making a promise. From the start, all of his actions were designed to gain her favor and get close to her. He did not act selflessly or without expecting anything in return. I consider his actions wrong because he is doing things even after she clearly rejected his help, and he still has the nerve to use it to make her feel guilty. He clearly knows she doesn't like it when he touches her, but he still does it anyway. He doesn't respect her feelings and constantly tries to violate her personal space. If these actions aren't considered wrong, I don't know what else to say.

Why time travelers cant ever stay in the past? Why allways the same end coming back to the era they belong to?…
I heard there were past cases of self-harm ending in death from believing in concepts like time travel, transmigration, and similar ideas. As a result, the government reportedly took steps to ban such endings.

Tbh i wasn’t expecting Ming Yi to be the Bo Clan descendant. But how did THEY not figure it out?😂😂 like…
It's not obvious, She lived her whole life as a prince, and how does it make sense to question her identity just because she entered a barrier that is only said to be acceptable to Bo clan members? Furthermore, how true this statement is is arguable. Besides, there is a literal consciousness of JBZ's master inside, and this could lead to many other speculations for them. JBZ's master calling Mingyi "Ming Xian" proves that.

So yeah, it's not that obvious to them. SL didn't know what happened inside, making it easier for him to conclude that she might be a descendant. It was easy for him to question her origin because he is the third party here, but for Mingyi and JBZ, it's not that easy to question it.

25/26 years later ji Bosai finally figured out the obvious truth abt min xian too many hints i kept thinking no…
From the point he started to trust her, he stopped trying to find out about her identity or questioning her, believing that if there was anything he had to know, she would tell him. But now the situation was different, so he tried to piece things together, and obviously, he had more clues now than in Episode 13. It is simply impossible for him to think that Ming Xian is a girl and not a boy because he literally fought her and saw a man's face, and Mingyi never acted like a warrior in front of him.

As for the blood test thing, the beast collecting the blood drop could mean many different things. The fact that his master recognized Mingyi as Ming Xian only made it difficult for them to think of Mingyi as the descendant. How do you expect them to think she is a Bo clan descendant when she basically lived her whole life as a prince? SL only figured it out because he has more information about this place and its requirements. JBZ and Mingyi are thinking that she was allowed in because his master allowed her to.

Maybe that's why they became villains: because they have more information and their interests don't align with the MC's.

And yes, the fox girl is OP. She can easily get a lot of information and she's very loyal to SL. The dude should be obsessed with her, not Mingyi.

I think it's because he's doing those things while expecting her love in return. At first, he genuinely wanted…
On the surface level, one might see it as her evading him, but from the beginning she always gave a clear "no" to SL.

He also knows her identity, which is a sensitive matter for her. She didn't sense any malice from him, and remembering the lone kid he was, she tried to be as nice as possible. However, he doesn't listen when she is being nice.

She used JBZ's jealousy, which was caused by SL's actions, to her benefit, yes. But again, she always acted normally in front of SL. She never acted in any provocative way that might imply her interest in SL or tried to provoke JBZ by the way she treated SL. The idea that she is in a "grey zone" with him is simply her trying to be kind to a lonely boy she knew from back then.

To put it simply, she didn't bother to deal with him at first because she tried to be kind and didn't know he was obsessed with her. Now that she understands a bit about his unhealthy obsession, she has again given a clear "no" multiple times, but he doesn't listen.

And yes, let's see what happens in the upcoming episodes!
