This drama is ok... nothing really good, but it had the qualities to become one. It's clear 30 episodes weren't enough for the story they intended to tell.

Yeah, I love this choice because the flashbacks weren’t there just to tell us what happened; rather, the characters' emotions trigger them. This made me feel closer to the characters. It’s like bringing us into their minds and showing us what they were feeling. I also agree that this type of storytelling works better on paper. Even if it’s not done properly, casual readers can still understand what’s going on, which is difficult to achieve on screen. The third flashback was also really good. I’ll wait for your thoughts on the next episodes.

Ep27-28 review. There were sweet moments. I liked it. But my heart aches for Zhou and Wen. I mean Zhou has spent…
The flashbacks are presented through mirrored timelines. The first flashback was shown when MJ and CY met in the present; it showed how they first met and eventually their separation. It didn't explain why they separated because that specific event was only about their meeting and separation. The second and the third flashback was also shown this way. I like this type of storytelling, but the wait was a little frustrating.

Dumb question I know but I can’t help wanting to know : why do they randomly shave his head on ep 5 and then…
She trimmed his hair because, at that time, they didn't have the money to spend at barber shops. By the time his hair grew back(time skip), they had enough to cover their basic needs, so his haircut remained consistent from that point on. Her cutting his hair and collecting cans and other stuff together shows how they were depending on each other.

Is this worth the watch?
It's a really good drama, but keep in mind that Love for You is not an idol drama. If you're expecting that idol drama romance style, you won't find it here. That said, the romance and chemistry in this drama are absolutely peak.

I personally didn't see it as a redemption arc for MJ's mom; it was more about MiaoJing's unresolved pain. I felt like it was a required conclusion for her own sake.

I actually want to see a story about blood siblings: a kind, smart brother who is a candidate for a general role in a certain army, and a sister who is not only cunning and ruthless but also established herself in society as a benevolent lady. However, they are soon tagged as traitors, and their whole family is annihilated. They both regress after being killed. Although they have some idea about who was behind it or why they were tagged as traitors, they don't know the real mastermind. So they join forces to protect each other and their family in their own way. Seeing two badass siblings like that would be too cool to witness.

Oh, they actually do answer your questions! What I meant by my earlier comments is that they just don’t fully explore the six years of trauma he and she went through. However, they do answer almost all of the mysteries.

Title Love for You Spoiler
What u didn't got?
The drama allows their healing to unfold subtly. The narrative does focuses on how ChenYi overcome his trauma, leaving the rest to happen in the background. Meanwhile, MiaoJing’s issues with ChenYi and her mother are successfully resolved by the end of the show.

For them to heal, the flashbacks of those six years weren't really necessary. I saw it that way and maybe you will too, after completing the drama.

In fact, the original script included scenes of MiaoJing during her college years, but they were not short due to budget constraints. The unfair part is that they actually shot ChenYi’s underground scenes, yet we only got a brief glimpse of them during the trauma rehabilitation scene.

Yeah, I get it. As viewers, we definitely want to know more about the characters and what they endured, but this drama focuses primarily on the present. The main characters won't actively try to confront their past trauma because, as their presence alone heals each other.

What u didn't got?
The show doesn't fully explore what the leads endured in those years. Instead, it offers glimpses to answer few of our questions and leaves the rest to the imagination.

That was MiaoJing’s POV and how she felt about the situation without getting answers. To her, everything happened so fast, which is exactly what they wanted to show.

I think you should blame Mango TV. I’m sure they chose to cut it for the variety show's wedding.
