It's quite violent, which isn't surprising considering the genre. I'm not sure what your cut off point for "extreme"…
OK, thank you!

Could anyone tell me how violent it is? I'm curious about the movie, but I'm really not in the mood for gore and extreme violence these days.

With the last two episodes it went from good to fantastic. Everything makes sense now, and the ending was really beautiful and emotional. The whole cast gave spectacular performances throughout the drama. One of the biggest surprises of the year for me, considering I didn't like the 1st episode when it started.

I watched the first episode back when it premiered and didn't feel much, so I didn't continue. Today for some reason I decided to give it a second chance, and now I'm up to episode 3 and I'm liking it a lot more than I expected. It's no masterpiece (there are a lot of plot holes), but it really reminds me of j-dramas, especially Yuji Sakamoto's dramas, and that's the vibe I'm craving right now.

I'm up to episode 4 now and I still find this very entertaining. Some things may be kind of dumb, but I'm never bored. And also, after that cliffhanger I definitely have to watch next episode, so I'll keep watching for now. Man, PBY is so so so good she makes pretty much anything better.

Netflix finally premiered the first two episodes in my country and I was actually surprised by how much I liked them? I was expecting the worst of the worst after reading the comments on here, but I found it quite entertaining. Sure, the leads are not very likeable so far and they are stupidly superficial, but I think the story is interesting and IMO it was definitely not as confusing as a lot of people are saying here. I'll wait for next week's episodes to decide if I'll continue or not, but I'd say it's looking good.

The storyline is nothing special and the script is a bit silly, but Higashide Masahiro and Mackenyu are SO good that their acting alone made me enjoy the movie a lot.

The ending was a lot happier than I expected and I'm not sure it really suits the drama after so much drama and darkness. That being said, it doesn't really change my opinion about the drama. It was just so so so good. It made a very necessary commentary on how some things work in South Korean society, and it sends an important message. But for me, the best thing was the cast. Every single cast member nailed their roles, and there is some of the best acting I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

Episode 19 was absolutely fantastic. The cast was just flawless, some of the best acting I've seen in my life. It wrapped up pretty much everything, so I'm really curious about what the last episode will be about.

I managed to catch up just in time for this weekend's finale and I really can't wait to watch how all this wraps up...

Started this yesterday, and I'm up to episode 6 and loving it so much, I'm completely hooked. The one thing I don't understand is why people say this is satire. Like, yeah, I guess some things are over the top and exaggerated for comedic effects, but most of the drama is quite dark, dramatic and intense. Anyway, I'm going to try to catch up before next week's finale, I think I'll be able to do it.

Wow, I really like the 1-on-1 battle format, they managed to find something that hasn't been done in any of the idol survival shows I've seen. All these kids are so talented, it will be really difficult to pick just 7.

park bogum looks wonderful in this hair (1st ep) ;_;
I feel you, I really wanted to kill the person who decided to cut his hair (although he looks adorable and super cute with short hair, I don't think he could ever look bad tbh).

I have seen Before Sunrise but the writing and scenario in this show is much more engaging-esp because they are…
Yeah, I agree with you. The drama is fantastic so far, but still far from being as good as Before Sunrise. I mean, I would be very happy if it somehow manages to achieve that level of quality, but even if it stays just like it is now it will still be one of the best dramas of 2018 IMO.

The first two episodes are pretty much perfect. The first one in particular reminded me of Before Sunrise, which is one of my favorite movies ever, and I wished they had stayed in Cuba for at least a bit longer (I still hope the go back there at some point). I love the two main characters so so so much. Song Hye Kyo is doing a great job and Park Bo Gum is just luminescent (and his smile is a universal treasure). I also like how the writer is playing with quite a few tropes, and the characters feel very real. The drama's mood is exactly what I needed now, and the cinematography and OST are gorgeous so far. I had extremely high expectations and so far the drama has met them, I seriously hope it goes on like this.

Ep 5 was so so good. Hijiri's feelings and confessions still make me feel uncomfortable, but I love all the melodrama. I also pity Shotaro, he really deserves better than the situation he's in... I can't wait to see how the time skip shakes thing up.

How does it get problematic?
I guess the reason why I find it more problematic than other people is that this is my first teacher x student drama (I have always stayed far away from this type of stories, only decided to watch this because I like the cast).
