I'm not saying it's impossible or that it was the best choice, I'm just saying that's the decision the show runners made (like literally it's almost scene for scene, I've never seen something stick this close to the source material before) and that choice is why we didn't get the SLC.
Why they decided to be so true to the webtoon instead of adapting it more to a drama's context I don't know but it is a shame it meant we didn't get the SLC because they're pretty fun together.
wtf? u had 10 episodes with 40 to 45 minutes but still couldn't give out a proper story for the second leads.…
The show sticks very, very close to the source material for the most part (apart from Taejoon's dog not being in the show which fair enough) and unfortunately for our Second Couple enjoyers they only properly got together in the additional side story after the end of the main webtoon.
And he gets blamed for not wanting to talk to King about it and took the blame for what happened voluntarily.…
I think, with all the glorifying of actual assault that's happened in the (not so distant) past in bl (and is still very much happening now), it can be very easy to immediately fall on to the worst conclusions and I can't really blame anyone for that.
I will admit that I have a little advantage in that I've read the book so I've had the privilege of being in Uea's head (and King's head) and that does shape how I read certain scenes π
And he gets blamed for not wanting to talk to King about it and took the blame for what happened voluntarily.…
He "locked" the door because he assumed (correctly) that Uea wouldn't want another colleague accidentally walking in on their conversation about their ONS, NOT to keep Uea from going anywhere (if that was the case he wouldn't have used something as easy to remove as a folder or just.... let him walk out when he said he didn't want to talk about it).
NGL it's got the point where I can't tell if it's the drama that's a mess or just this comment section π
I think I'm going to wait to decide if I'm watching this once it's finished, hopefully at that point I'll be able to find some reviews/comments that'll help me make that decision....
Joon Ho's last wish is probably something like "I want to get the ring to Tae Hee so he can propose to the woman he loves" so Dong Ju is going to try and get him and his ex-girlfriend back together (either falling for him in the process or finding out after she already likes him) only for it to turn out that at that point he already likes her instead of his ex.
I could be wrong but it's fun to speculate and it does look like the direction that plot point is going currently :P
w/o that radio message Her husband would have committed suicide because Butler kim deciphered that message and…
Having the message played on the radio was the victims last wish and, from what I understood, the only way she could see of even having a chance of saving the husband. Yes she may have had the letter for a while but that doesn't necessarily mean she'd be able to pick up on the clues in the same way Taehee could.
My guess is she played it on the off chance the husband would hear it (perhaps assuming if the wife wrote the letter to the radio show then it was one the couple listened to frequently and which the husband might still tune into if it held memories of his wife) and understand that his wife wanted him to live.
It doesn't go in depth but yeah, the cheerleading in this drama is literally cheer leading (leading the cheer) so it's much less about acrobatics and much more about getting the audience hyped and joining in with you.
For those of you who enjoyed this drama, while a potential season 2 is still speculation at this point one thing we CAN look forward to is the fact EAW is being adapted as musical: https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20220817000615
I'm not quite sure how they'll pull it off and there's always the potential that it could go horribly wrong but it'll definitely be an interesting project to keep an eye on, no matter what.
Oh that is interesting because this is the first KDrama where I felt it warranted a second season and would be…
Tbh season 2 or no season 2, I'm happy either way. A few dramas where this has happened have ended up with season 2 but most haven't so I'm happy to focus on other things and new dramas unless more concrete ever comes out and be happy with the drama that we got βΊοΈ
Oh that is interesting because this is the first KDrama where I felt it warranted a second season and would be…
Personally I was sceptical about a second season right up until the last half of the last episode but they've left themselves with plenty of room to explore if they decide on a second season. I'm hoping there's a bit of a wait between the two because Tae Oh has his military service coming up and the way they ended the drama it wouldn't make much sense to have him disappear π
Ultimately this drama left me feeling satisfied. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to rate it yet but I enjoyed it from start to finish and it looked forward to new episodes each week. Yes, there were ups and downs, yes, there were flaws but then that's always going to be the case and ultimately the joy this drama brought me outweighed any issues I might have with it.
I'll admit I did get worried when it was announced that there might be a second season (K-dramas rarely fare well with a second season and often a late-stage decision to do one will mess with original series as well) but luckily my worries were unfounded. Now I can look forward to the potential 2nd season knowing that if it doesn't work out as well, I still have the first season to enjoy.
Sometimes I think people make the mistake of making EAW into something bigger than it was intended to be, I don't think the writers ever expected it to become as popular as it did, but for what it is, a quirky case-by-case court drama, it has solid writing, a solid plot, enjoyable characterisation, and careful handling of a number of topics that are still very much taboo in Korean society. Is it perfect? No. But no drama is and it made my weeks better while it aired and that is more than enough for me.
NGL if I was Yoon Kyeo Re and it turned out that Kang Tae Shik was my father (as implied in ep. 1), that would…
Actually if I was Kyeo Re and Tae Shik turned out to have anything to do with my past that would be my tipping point, I don't think I'd be able to bare the lectures and the nagging coming from someone who probably played a part in my worst memories no matter how well intentioned it's supposed to be π
Looking forward to seeing how he adapts from the stage to the screen βΊοΈ
