I've said this before but Taejun and Taeyang's relationship was the thing that allowed them to feel the love and support they never received from their families so it really turns my stomach to watch Taejun's family take that away from both of them without so much as a second thought.
NGL I think it would be better for Taejun if he broke up with his family instead of Taeyang....
This has gone from being a drama about love and badminton to being a drama about all the ways you can fail your child as a parent. I'm not surprised that Taeyang is the way she is when her dad seems happy to throw her under any bus he can find and thinks she doesn't need his support because "she's been through a lot already" and I'm honestly impressed that Taejun isn't more damaged given he seems to be an afterthought for his own parents (and is painfully aware of that fact).
The most ominous line in the whole drama is Young Ok's "I want to live here for the rest of my life"....
Coupled with the fact that she kept telling Jung Joon he shouldn't like her because she'll hurt him, the fact she seems to be desperately earning money (but for a dependent rather than herself) and her insistence that everything should be fun and nothing should be serious.... Idk but it's making me very anxious for the rest of her story.
Hey, question. Not trying to sound rude or anything but why put a show in not interested instead of just ignoring…
I know I'm not the person you directed this to but I use the "not interested" list for shows that I was keeping an eye on and had in my "plan to watch" list before eventually deciding they weren't for me. Putting them in that list instead means that, if I ever change my mind and decide to give something a little different a go, I have a ready list of dramas I can try .
Hats off to Taejun for being able to separate his feelings for Taeyang from the shtstorm going on around them…
Tbh I'm really hoping for a scene where Taejun confronts her in full about the damage she inflicted on those around her. I very much get why she's so bitter, it absolutely sucks to have your whole world get taken away over night, but she's not the only one who got hurt by what happened and her ensuing actions hurt a lot of other people as well so it's not like she's in the clear and I think Taejun more than anyone is in a position to both know that and confront her about it.
Hats off to Taejun for being able to separate his feelings for Taeyang from the shtstorm going on around them both.
Double hats off to him for confronting his sister so soon as well. I know it's not what JY wanted to hear but, tbh, it's what she needs to hear (and to keep being told).
I'm with u in the first thing that he won't be angry that she is the cause of injury as what u said. But for the…
Oh I know he already knows that Taeyang and Junyoung were close but, when he found out, the fact that he hid the connection and pretended that he hadn't even met Junyoung suggests to me he doesn't want HER to know THEIR connection. Imo he's fine that they're close, yes, but he doesn't want her to know that he's actually related to Junyoung because that's when, in his head, people start comparing him to her.
I know that a lot of us are thinking that the big moment of drama will be when Taejun finds out that Taeyang was…
(also Taeyang will probably slip back into punishing herself for what happened with Junyoung when she finds out who Taejun is so there's also that....)
I know that a lot of us are thinking that the big moment of drama will be when Taejun finds out that Taeyang was the one who injured his sister but I have another theory that it will actually happen when Taeyang finds out he's Junyoung's brother.
If you think about it, Taejun doesn't seem to be the type who would punish Taeyang for her past mistake (after all it's been his entire mission to stop other punishing her for it and to stop her punishing herself) and it would be ooc for it to suddenly matter to him. On the other hand, however, Taejun is clearly insecure about living in the shadow of his sister, the fact that no matter what he did, Junyoung did it first (and seemed, in his eyes, to do it better) and he has already taken steps to distance himself from Junyoung in Taeyang's eyes (by pretending he doesn't know her).
Personally, I think he's going to really struggle when Taeyang, the first person who matters to him who's seen and valued him for HIM, the first person to (unknowingly) pull him out from his sister's shadow, realises that he's her former best friend and idol's little brother. I think he might end up believing (correctly or not) that everything his relationship with Taeyang gave him will be swallowed up by the shadow of his sister in the same way he's lost everything else if she finds out who he is and that's where the tension/drama will come in.
Also if you take into account the context of their relationship in the drama, if she's a good sister there's a…
Yes! And by the looks of it, Taejun actively does not want to be known as Junyoung's brother so why would she talk about him and why would he want to know about her friends?
I kind of get negative vibes from Jun Young... like maybe I am just traumatised by all the backstabbing in kdramas…
Personally I saw it more of a "Taejun clearly has developed some sort of bond with Taeyang if they're partners so my returning could cause a rift when previously it wouldn't have been a problem" moment but I could be wrong.
I feel like both Park siblings are keeping their relationship to each other on the down low for some reason (possibly more for Taejun's benefit then for Junyoung's) but Taeyang knowing and being close to BOTH of them would make that impossible hence why it's complicated.
I can see some people wondering about why people who were close to/worked with Junyoung don't recognise/know who…
Also if you take into account the context of their relationship in the drama, if she's a good sister there's a good chance she wanted to shield him from the speculation and comparisons that would come with him being known as her brother and instead let him make his own name for himself. If that's that case I could well imagine that Junyoung would avoid talking about Taejun openly at all, even to people she was close to.
I can see some people wondering about why people who were close to/worked with Junyoung don't recognise/know who Taejun is and all I can say is I've worked with the same people for 4 years now and while most of them know I have a brother, only one of them knows his name XD
It's very easy to talk about people in your life without naming them/making them easily recognisable to people who don't also know them. Idk, maybe, like me, she saw her work life and her family life as two separate worlds that didn't need to be mixed unless they were actually going to meet each other :P
The relationship between Taejun and Taeyang.... both of them grew up feeling like they weren't quite "good enough"…
Taeyang is the first person to tell Taejun that he's talented and that his skills (and he himself) are worth effort and time and nurture, Taejun is the first person to tell Taeyang that he'll love her no matter what she choses, and that she should make her choices for herself, not for others.....
The relationship between Taejun and Taeyang.... both of them grew up feeling like they weren't quite "good enough" to earn their parents' full and unconditional love and now they've finally found someone who they feel will love them the way they've so desperately wanted, it's sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.
