Let me know if NIF has a happy ending please! And thank you for enjoying the article :)
What I actually mean to say is, sad endings often come with great stories, so even ignoring the sad ending, you're missing on a great story.
However, I completely understand that an ending is ultimately part of the story so there's no way to truly ignore it, and it can really ruin your day.
To me what's most important is how well the ending fits the story and how impactful it is, and so it really doesn't matter whether it's happy/sad, both can be good or bad.
If you're ever feeling like you can handle a not-so-happy ending, then you should definitely try some of the recommended drama out there that are well-received but known to have sad endings.
I find that when you're happy you shouldn't watch something that's sad, because it will only bring down the mood, but when you're sad, then watching something sad might just make you happier since it gives you the feeling that you're not alone. It's the same idea as when ppl listen to sad music when they're sad, consonance vs dissonance.

I don't enjoy sad endings because they're sad, but it just happens that sad endings are often well done.
You're right that if you prefer not to feel sad while watching drama then it makes sense to avoid it, but you're nonetheless still "missing out", that is simply a fact.
Despite being comedy, it keeps itself serious enough to be taken seriously, and has some actual depth to it. This concept really hard to pull off, but looks very promising so far.
Nirvana in Fire might scare away many ppl from chinese drama, not sure why ppl are recommending it, I think there's a good reason it's not on this list.

If you limit yourself to only drama with happy ending then you're missing out on a lot. I've found majority of drama with sad/bittersweet endings to be better than those with happy.
Amazing drama, deserves higher rating because the majority was good. I don't know why the drama suddenly switched from comedy to melodrama after ep. 13, it was bad, and this is coming from someone who prefer melodrama over comedy.
Along with the stated reason, I liked it because it was well put together. I appreciate goo execution. Time travel…
I've watched Remember and it's actually one of my favorite. Objectively speaking, it's probably worse than Signal, in fact, most drama are, except maybe the best like Nirvana In Fire. However, it left more of an emotional impact on me, I can't exactly say it's deep, maybe it just fit my preference more. I don't recall it being very highly rated.
Yeah, I usually take into account personal bias when judging drama. It's easy to see when you're "not feeling it", but don't have any particular problem with the drama.

Yes, ironically almost everything you stated is exactly what I already know is good about this drama, and I like this drama for the same reasons. I gave 8.5 despite enjoying it probably less than that, to me it's one of those drama that is very exciting at the moment but doesn't leave any impact afterwards, it really depends on what you're looking for in drama.
Glad to know there are other people who also feel like there is something lacking that can't exactly be explained, maybe there is not enough depth, not in terms of character, plot, execution or whatever "attributes" that may appear during film critcism - those things can make a drama great, but there is something beyond that.
this drama in not worth more than 7. even the messed up cheese in the trap is way better than this. if this nothing…
Realistically should probably fall between 8 and 9, keep in mind non-controversial drama tend to rated higher, e.g. drama where audience doesn't take sides.

Hope this gets through to you, cheers!
