Why this drama is so overrated? Who is pushing up the ratings? Because the first 7 episodes are ULTRA BORING.…
I also find this boring but would rate it more like an 8/10 because it's a beautiful drama nonetheless. The 2 leads are too "mature" and have similar personality (usually more exciting when they are opposites)
May be controversial but I think this drama is boring to people who have not had an easy time with love - why? Because this drama literally shows 2 people who are put together and then cheaply separated and seemingly accept everything that happens (not really but no spoiler here, overall these 2 people have very obedient personalities, follow the rules).
The way they meet and the opportunities to spend time with each other, so telegraphed and so simple, it's very pure like a fairy tale even with the subplot of arranged marriage - it's just way too straightforward and those who enjoy this type tend to be those who are happy in their relationships and watch something that reflects their own life - good for them.
Likewise, if you are young then you will also find this boring, this is definitely the more mature type of drama.
Hmmm, does it feel like the [adapted] script changed hands or? Only asking because you're making me contemplate…
It just felt like a poor execution and honestly it depends on if you're looking for something casual - too many dramas don't take their own plot seriously enough and this is definitely one of them. Yes, the amnesia plot is ridiculous, or time travel, however you want to see it, but the difference between this and a drama like "Queen In-Hyun's Man" and many others, is that despite a ridiculous premise, you're still very drawn into it and believe in what the characters are experiencing.
The beginning was great until he loses his memories. The plot doesn't make much sense after that despite how much they try to fit it in, and even given he's a historical character doesn't justify him being so stubborn. It became more of a comedy and I have nothing against comedies but it really takes away from a somewhat serious plot.
Same here. I just finished, and the ending was pretty good for me. I am also someone who does not need an answer…
I'm really happy with the ending as well but I moved it from 9.5 -> 9 after the ending. I'm happy because I'm so emotionally attached to these characters and just want them to have a happy ending but playing devil's advocate / critic, and maybe it's just me - the ending felt slightly rushed.
It seems like the ML confessed to FL because he was closer to dying with each time loop. In the final one, he got up and saved the day and then they just went along the rest of the day normally. We never found out why he was dying and also he was perfectly fine at the end still. While I wanted them to get together, this seemed a bit too telegraphed - his sickness became a plot device to bring them together and add suspense. Let's be real, it's not very suspenseful when you just get infinite time loops, but we are excited because we want to find out the truth. We also never found out why Lu Di could not join the loop.
I understand that the entire scenario is something of a game by god to save the innocent lives on the bus and make sure the case is solved. Even then, knowing that this was really just a game with end condition - mystery is solved and everyone is happy makes the journey a little less meaningful in a sense.
The best part of the ending was seeing Lu Di involved again, I'm really happy they closed the loop on that storyline and letting Lu Di live his dream of becoming a chosen one to save the world.
The journey was awesome all the way until the very end I was not disappointed for a second, it was only after finishing the drama and thinking back in hindsight that I was not completely satisfied with the plot.
I'm not planning to watch this school drama... but Liu Yu Ning sang the OST... what am I supposed to do??? ;D
The OST makes it seem more dramatic than it actually is I think, depends on you, I've watched entire dramas because of OST >_< This one sounds similar to《烟火星辰》
Is this going to involve covid or something? tagged as epidemic.
The trailer makes this seem like a happy-go-lucky plot of ML and FL growing up together, some separation, then get married, not really all that exciting. Hoping it's more than that, the main theme is beautiful《你是我的星空 》
It is pretty popular in china due to lack of such domestic concepts. That's why even the douban rating is pretty…
jk, I know MDL just has a higher average score. The concept really isn't unpopular I think, there is plenty of crime, thrillers, and time travel/loop dramas already but perhaps putting that all together is a new a concept? I just think this is very well done, despite the concept. It's also based on a web novel.
The concept is also seen in korean and japanese drama, which chinese people watch a lot of as well, probably more than american tv.
The number of people who understand chinese yet are active on this english site is incredible, but please keep the spoilers and pride at a minimum haha. I remember several years back when I would be one of the only ones watching ahead in some of these cdramas and now it seems almost everyone is.
I think this feels very different from what you mention above. While the first few episodes almost feels like…
At the end of the day, almost all time travel drama is character-driven, but there is still a difference, hard to explain, I just wouldn't put 365 as recommendation for example, but cheers to another fan of the genre.
So far so good. Groundhog Day meets Speed meets 365 Repeat the Year.Bai Jingting is great and so is the kid from…
I think this feels very different from what you mention above. While the first few episodes almost feels like a pure thriller, it becomes more character-focused later on with romance. I would check out the 2 recommendations so far, very similar.

15 episodes of near perfection, but the overall the ending plot lacks a bit.
