Can't help but feel this is overrated, the rating did a drop a bit from what it used to be though.
You get perfect acting, but it really isn't enough to make up for a drama that feels episodic, and a story, which, despite being epic/amazing (or whatever you might call it), lacks something special that would put it over the edge and allow me to call it a masterpiece. Imo not enough depth/substance.
People care too much about the little things, which Signal does well, perfectly in fact, it has all the elements to be a great drama, but what about the big picture?
It's a solid top drama, but #1? I don't buy it.
Disclaimer: my opinion
I'm curious to know why people think it's so great aside from the typical reasons: great acting, great plot, great characters, etc, those are all just attributes, what did people find special?
I wouldn't care if Won died, but why would they do that to Rin? I'm sad (even though we don't know…
you should read the other comments, this is a bit biased, you have to take into account Won's situation as well, for one, the way Rin went about "wanting something" is too abrupt which made Won feel betrayed.
Is it me or did Kim Bo Ra (female lead)'s personality change when she grew up, I know people change but it doesn't even feel remotely like the same person, did not like that.
I have to say this drama is nothing I imagined it was.I felt like we had two stories. Until the middle, we had…
I thought both stories were well done by themselves, but yes there's really a lack of coherence. The main character's personality is also a bit inconsistent because there was a time where he is shown as being greedy for money, understandably because of his sister, but he wasn't portrayed as a nice, reliable character, which he was in the 2nd half of the drama.
I also didn't like how they played the revenge theme up until the end, when the female lead gets betrayed, it was okay, but why not just give the characters a break at that point?
Aside from those complaints, I thought the drama was well done overall, and actually thought it reached its potential for the most part.
ep 11 felt awkward, they really didn't need to spoonfeed us the thoughts of every single character, what they're thinking, what they plan to do next, what they feel about each other, etc. It was too direct and too much. It needs to be more subtle.
I understand it was meant to be a feel-good episode in some ways, maybe to give audience some relief. However, I hope this is not the start of a decline in terms of the quality of storytelling. Unfortunately, far too many shows suffer, or benefit (depends on the perspective), from catering to the audience too much (i.e. making audience happy), at the cost of quality/substance.
Hi people question, I just finished watching queen for seven days and that drama was literally so good from first…
better overall, depends on what you're looking for though. Although it involves the same king/time period, there is less focus on royalty, so it's not that similar to Queen in Seven Days.
Sorry I ship Rin and Won more than Rin and San. I have zero second lead syndrome on this, even though they seem…
the stalker thing was a joke, but yes I do think if Rin expressed himself or even told Won that he has feelings, it would be a lot better than what he's doing right now. I just think that Won has done more (you should check out latest episode, might make more sense). It also doesn't help the case since Rin's actions are influenced by Won, some of them are simply orders, and you'll notice that much of Won's orders actually put Rin and San together.
The way I see it, San loves Rin more. Rin's loyalty/friendship for Won seems greater than his love for San, or else he would've done more. Similarly, Won chose San instead of Rin to get out of prison, so there's the triangle.
At the end of the day, I just want a good ending and it really seems like the only way is if San ends up with neither, and friendship becomes the focus of the story. It's not looking good :(
