Maybe because the two share the same scriptwriter and director >< I also got reminded of it, even the endings…
same.. i also have the same feels esp during the wedding scene. the look, the vibe....send shivers down my spine. it did remind me of love and redemption too

If anyone is on the fence about starting Love of the Divine Tree, just try it because you will be pleasantly surprise.…
agreed. i am blown by it. and i thought i was getting bored with xian xia genre, or that this is another butchered edited story. but it is not. it was soooo good. i thoroughly enjoyed it

Idk why but i find it endearing when MQG's character traits awaken in Ran Ran and she becomes sassy and bossy…
same.. i also like it when it happens. and how the actress speaks like MQG full of authority, but with gentle eyes of love for her si fu

so an honest take. i think the drama started of real great, and they are really good moments.. but now at about ep 20 onward, when they was so much building up to the big reveal, i am finding it lacking of something and i cannot place my hand on it. I mean the story is meant to let us feel something, and dont get me wrong, there are a lot of moments where it's supposed to illicit some feels, but i am not feeling it- unlike the episodes where they showed the back story of how MQG and SYS met. i feel that the editing is to blame for this. things are happening so fast, we as viewers are not given enough time to feel for the characters. eg the big defining moment when RR realised how much si fu has done for her, or when he got seriously injured and she tried to save him the moment was so brief.

I decided to tune into this show because I wanted to experience a dating reality show firsthand. For so long, I’ve been swept up in the romantic fantasies of K-dramas and C-dramas, and I thought it was time to explore something different—something real. I remember watching Seasons 1 and 2, but for some reason, I skipped Season 3 entirely. Looking back, I think I was put off by the possibility that some participants might have joined for fame or publicity rather than the genuine pursuit of love.

When Season 4 came around, many people, including my friends, told me it seemed boring. But I couldn’t help but feel differently. I was looking for real connections and authentic conversations, and this season delivered exactly that. Admittedly, the show has faced criticism for its slower pace—some felt that the daily paradise dates lacked depth and that there weren’t enough meaningful interactions for participants to truly get to know one another. And to some extent, they’re right.

However, what made this season truly special was the honesty, sincerity, and openness of the participants. I didn’t want manufactured drama or exaggerated plot twists; I wanted authenticity, and I believe most of the participants showed up as their true selves and grew through this experience. For that, I’m truly grateful.

So why am I writing this post? At the end of the day, reality shows can go in many directions—some thrive on drama and twists, while others focus on capturing the raw, unfiltered reality of human connections. It all comes down to personal preference. For me, this season was a refreshing departure from the usual theatrics, and I want to take a moment to appreciate the show for what it is and commend the participants for embracing their true selves.

By the way, here’s an insightful take from the producer, who also shared some reflections on this season: https://time.com/7221367/singles-inferno-season-4-ending-couples/.

Many people here and on Twitter seem to be upset with this season and Sian's finale pick, but I liked it. I think…
i agree with your sharing. Junseo may seem rough around the edges - but he is someone deep and reflective. he is also very honest and not fake.

I have been shipping Dong Ho and A-Rin so hard the whole season and still cannot believe why others, esp the panel who was spot on in many of their observations, cannot see how genuine the connection between those 2. Dong Ho's gaze always follows Arin - he always checks in on her (but you can only catch it if you observe closely), and the way he smiles when he is with her is totally different from the aakward ones he was giving to Hae lin.

i love all members of the cast this season except may tae-hwan not so much- I also like this season and appreciate how honest it is. no games, perhaps that is why, the producers dont have more content for drama and thus focus more on sian's choices.. and at the risk of cutting out air time for the rest of the couples.

I really hope Netflix can do a post reality show interview - like those bachelor shows. where every body come together after the airing and talk about the show.

I also really hope Netflix can release those footages (that never made it to the episodes) to the public so we can enjoy the other couples or cast who screen time were cut down.

Finally, I echo one of the panelist who said that of all seasons, this season felt the most sincere, and emotional.

not gonna lie... i am also hook to this drama. not a fan of deng wei but i love xian xia (despite starting to feel jaded a bit with the regular tropes)... but that said, there's something fresh about love of the divine tree that i kind quite put my fingers on. I can probably attribute it to the story telling element which is really good.
highlights for me include scenes of how MCG tricks, and tames SYS to join her , slowly but surely. i How SYS is a hero with unhero like qualities lol.... like he dont mind resorting to dirty tricks as long as he attain what he wants. i guess i am also attracted as well to the heroine who is so carefree and believe in the greater good, despite going against all the high and mighty good sects who thinks they know better. hope the story continues to keep up the quality of its story telling.
