I know it has been tough being Zhou Yichen for the past few episodes what with all the ass beating, sword breaking, demon turning, veggie spanking, crowd bullying and self loathing but if I was him that delicious "Don't worry, I will save you." would have been the best ointment money can buy for all my wounds. ;_____;

FR Li Lun has all the tea. He is like the OG sneaky ass, gaslighting high school mean girl. The way in this episode, he went from, join my evil plans, Zhou Yichen to adopt me Zhou Yichen to I will hurt you and nobody loves you Zhou Yichen to why you hurting my feelings and why nobody loves me, Zhou Yichen :(((( had me SPIRALLING

Is it just me or the bromance dynamic gives Beyond evil vibe? Like a little bit. I think that's why I am vibing with it so much

The first few episodes are indeed a bit of a slow burn. especially, the demons and their back stories. I feel like the drama really finds its pace mid way though. More action, more plot twists. So, I think you should be good to go ep 15 onwards. (Lots of inter group dynamics, bromance, more fight scenes).. Though, keep in mind that overall this story is more atmosphere/character focused than plot driven so if that’s not your taste, you might not be able to get into it even in the later episodes. Hope that’s helpful!

Ying Lei and Zhou Yi Chen together was the bromance I didn’t know I needed. Is it just me or anyone else kept replaying that scene when Ying Lei’s about to take out his sword and ZYC makes him sheathe it back up from behind? 🥹

For some reason that scene’s been stuck in a loop in my head, living there rent free.

And, ZYC’s soft as fuck expressions when he sees YL take all the nastay veggie hits for him ;-;

No apologies needed. I am literally not trying to hide anything in the first place, so quote all you want. My brand of humor often doesn't translate well so I will just spell it out.

I can call fictional characters a band of useless mofos and still love them. I can gush about Li Lun and still hope he gets what's coming for him.

Basically, I can roast my favorite characters all day and still sleep like a baby at night. For what it's worth, I am really enjoying the show and its characters so don't you worry :-*

My way of enjoying shows is roasting and poking fun at characters I love. When they give me emo, spiderman meme energy on the bedside as they stand uselessly while a whole ass demon blood drop zaps in a dude's head, I'd call it as I see it. When I am given a BANGER episode with found family energy on an all time high, I'll appreciate it just the same.
Since when do fictional characters need online lawyers for their defense. Just enjoy the show with the commentary you wanna do and let others do the same.

WHAT A BANGER EPISODE.

So much chemistry between all the characters with the BROMANCE really at an all time high. Zhou Yi Chen has definitely been my favorite character and in this ep, he just showed me all the reasons why. That effortless grace, class, unshakeable values, righteous without ever being boring, a pure badass, so vulnerable and broken and just an absolute PRESENCE on screen.

The love and friendship between him and our monkey demon is the best thing ever. I feel like the most powerful episode of the show was when ZYZ had the malicious energy overwhelm him and for a while everyone looked at him at a loss and he was there crying in the rain and Zhou Yi Chen found him, gave him that understanding, that reason to live, even though it was painful for him. And he covered him up with that cloak, that protection. And now, ZYZ has just returned the same silent camaraderie.

The endless empathy the two have developed for each other is a delight to see. Also, y'all got triggered when I called them a band of useless mofos skskksks but I say it with love. These characters are so SQUEEZE-able, I swear.

P.S Not Ying Lei being a human shield against all the vegetable attack. ;___;
