for all those saying she shouts and screams a lot in her acting, although i can somewhat agree for some reason the roles she goes for do tend to involve a lot of that but to me that doenst make her a bad actor, for those who think so you need to watch her in the drama secret, for me a good actor is someone who can draw you in and make the character believable and make me feel the emotions, while watching her acting in secret i sincerely felt sorry for her and even cried at times and it felt like i was watching real life not a scripted and acted drama, she can act but its a shame that a lot of the roles shes been in involve the characters being quite shouty, and for those saying about her looking terrible i agree but half the time i question what were the people in charge of wardrobe thinking, but for me its great that as an actress shes willing to dress up in silly outfits and not care

i think this is a great article, i have actually kinda thought the same thing about dramas, but its kinda the norm, and when watching you dont think so much about it, i mean a lot of the scenarios are to highlight the passion in a relationship and of course add drama, but i agree the rape and forced kisses and stuff really does annoy me these days, its kinda why i like dramas that have a female lead that has a strong character throughout, i admit i liked dramas like lee jun kai because of the drama eventhough its unrealistic and when you think about it its a horrid story, but at the same time its dramas like that that kinda wake you up and make you think about life really the darker stories that make you realise how lucky you are and also wake you up to the reality that in some cases situations like that can and do happen to real people

taiga does seem interesting but i really cant stand the hairstyles of the men in that time period i find myself constantly staring at the hair and thinking why i wouldn't be focusing on the drama i just spend the time staring at the hair XD
i admit i have been wanting to watch a Japanese drama for a while now but seriously i dont know whats happened to japan i know that they dont really have the biggest budget for dramas and that they tend to do varying genres but i really miss dramas like zettai kareshi, atashinchi no danshi, gakusen, hana kimi, hotaru no hikari and HYD i miss the dramas like that that would give me feels, make me laugh and cry :/ ive really been struggling to find a decent jdrama to watch so of anyone knows of any good comedies or romances from japan id love to hear :)

Also, I find it interesting that not only is mental illness stigmatized to some degree in Asian dramas, so is…
id recommend the crucible/silenced movie its about a school for deaf mute mentally ill children its based on true events that happened at a real school like that in korea...its not exactlly happy and well i was shocked when i watched it and i did cry buckets, but the film kinda shows the harsh reality of how people can take advantage of those with disabilities-i wouldnt recommend it though if you are looking for something happy and bubbly its more of a dark depressive film that makes you think and really hits you hard

i actually enjoy watching asian dramas with mental health characters so long as they are not bullied and well they make fun of the health issue, mental health is not something to be made a joke of which is why in the dramas you listed i love them as not only does it show the characters dealing with their issues but also accomplishing things in life whether its becoming a doctor or getting over their fear/anxiety

i myself have suffered from depression in the past and i actually realise now looking at things i actually have quite a few friends who also have issues, like my friend who has social anxiety, agoraphobia, mysophobia and on top of that she also has cerebral palsy while other people shut her out and tell her to get over it i wont its not easy dealing with it and not something she can just get over doesnt help that people at school used to make fun of her disability -_-# if only i could turn back time id beat the living shit out of them now i also have a few friends who are deaf or partially deaf and need hearing aids, i admit sometimes it can be a little hard to understand them because their speech isnt so good but you just have to be patient and ask them to repeat

people with mental health issues and disabilities are no different from any normal person in my opinion they can be just as lovely and kind hearted or mean as any other normal person i think the problem with society is that when someone has a mental disorder they are straight away shunned and people avoid them which really only makes them feel worse about themselves

which is why i love dramas that depict and deal with these issues, although sometimes they can be over dramatised and they tend to deal with the same issues e.g. anxiety, social phobia, deafness blindness etc. i feel like they should show different examples and mi things up a bit

in my opinion for some reason japan seems to be adapting a lot of films from mangas like this recently :/ not…
yeah lol that does XD i admit i do read a lot of shoujo manga but i think what it is with these recent adaptations is that the guy is clueless and gets on my nerves a bit and for some reason the main girl is always some shy weak thing, id rather a stong female lead lol what id like to see is if they changed it around so instead the guy confesses to the popular girl lol now that would be interesting to see

in my opinion for some reason japan seems to be adapting a lot of films from mangas like this recently :/ not saying its a bad thing but im kinda getting tired of the storyline of quiet shy school girl falls for popular guy at school them confesses but is rejected but then they guy also in the end falls for her, i feel like they need to spice things up a bit and change things around, i mean recentlly you had sukite ii na yo, l-dk etc released which are kinda similar stories not that i hate this type of film it just feels like japan is overusing it recently, nonetheless ill still probably end up watching this

ive been waiting to reunite my love for Japanese dramas, i feel that most have been either the same as each other or just boring but this is something different, its not over exaggerated comedy-although i admit i hope that the main lead gets stronger and she doesnt turn out to be like most main japanse drama lead-weak and well pathetic at times-but why why why does it only air one episode a week :( the wait is too long and too much to bear

to be honest it wasnt that great of a movie :/ i was expecting more but it was well light hearted and just the same as any other high school romance with the whole conflict to begin then to love relationship and the guys ex turning up to try an ruin things, the girls other love interest and as usual for japanese things the yukata and firework festivals :/
i think what annoyed me most was the fact that she fell in love with him way to fast, id have liked to have seen more comical moments and more conflict from when they were living together it was a bit of a disappointment after waiting so long for subs :/

i remember watching this ages ago.. it wasn't anything that great to be honest and it was awkward to watch...i can remember skipping through parts and thinking why am i watching this, especially as i dont find ji hwan that much of an attractive male lead... it was a odd and just mess of the movie but it did have its cute moments, id say watch the movie if you are looking for something cute and simple to pass the thime
