Also the way that the show ended I think a season 2 is highly ok. Like maybe they try to find a cure for Hei Feng. The ending is so bitter sweet.

I really liked the FL king and his kingdom. They just wanted peace they only fight when necessary and weren’t power hungry. The FL family was the most tragic, it really is true nice people don’t live long. Also I’m so glad none of the FL’s generals died, they all seem like such good people that genuinely wanted the best for the people of there kingdom (just like there king).

Oh I think its done airing, I just finish watching it yesterday.

Well at the start he told her he liked princess (her other identity) and later on when they had mutual feelings i guess she didn’t want him to like her because she’s a princess he even said she can’t be compared with any princess haha. Yeah the half of the show was rushed and written by another director. The director for the beginning of the show changed the story. According to others the second half started to follow the novel a bit more. In the novel they actually both already knew each other’s identity (which for me made more sense bc they are so smart right and the ML literally have a spy organization) but they choose to respect each other and not say anything they are waiting for each other to say it themselves (when they feel comfortable) which I think is really sweet and wholesome. Love this drama for its wholesome relationship. No 2nd FL drama thank goodness. Sad the kiddo died tho. (That wasn’t in the novel)

So from what I understand is that the king himself was the son of a maid so his background is super “low” too so he felt the queen hurts his pride so he could never accept her that’s why he loves bai queen more and the 3rd son. In Chinese history usually the first son has the best probability to be next king but the mom is selfish and greedy so she doesn’t like the first prince because he was born with a illness and back then a lot of illness weren’t clear (like the poison that killed the first queen). Also it was seen to be super bad luck for a child to be born with disabilities especially child’s of the imperial family (as the imperial family is seen as the child of god/ descendent of dragon).

Her pretending to care for the first prince is so heartbreaking. I’m so glad the director didn’t make the 2 brothers turn against each other, I would have felt so depressed, really tired of those drama that keep making good relationships turn into rival. And especially hate those drama that have a lot girls like the ML. Feels like almost everyone likes the ML lol. Like in LLTG (not sure if you have seen it) but good thing the ML gave really good response to them lol and only had eyes for the FL.

I hated his mother more. The poor older brother, it was so hard to watch.
What he said was exactly how I felt like its so dumb. There was so many times the king low-key wished he did something wrong and wish him death.

Indeed lulu is already starting to film a new modern drama. She even cut her bang for it.

I agree. Also the ML from TROTG is gonna star in another historical drama and I saw some trailers he low key looks like his character from TROTG so I can’t bring myself to watch it. I’m sure it will be a great drama since he’s such a nice actor but it just feels wrong for me haha.

TROTG will forever hold a place in my heart ;-; I heard seasons 2 coming out, it will be the same ML but FL is not set yet unfortunately ;-; I’m not gonna watch if Lu Si isn’t in it ;-;

I know she does a great job of having chemistry with her pairing, it’s just that I don’t like him but I’ll give it a try then. My list of my fav of her best chemistry CP would be LLTG, TROTG, WRTW, LBTI (this one had a lot of kissing haha). My fav are her historical drama haha.

Same I watch everything with Lu Si. I don’t believe what others say, I prefer to watch for myself. There’s even shows that had really good reviews that I couldn’t stand. Been watching her shows since oh my emperor, at that time I didn’t know much about her and then after a while she stared in more shows and I was so excited and happy for her. I especially love her in historical shows but I didn’t watch A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College bc I don’t have a good impression of the actor that plays themale lead in that one and I kinda like the 2ML more. Did you watch it? How was it?

In short its 2(couple) person pairing that go well together. Like in this drama for example we have the ML and the FL CP, then we also have the elder brother and ML bro CP and the Feng Qi Wu and FL BFF CP.

Umm I’ll try my best to explain, CP is a popular internet slang in china so its hard to explain. I guess you can understand it as a basically a couple pairing (CP). Since its a slang theres a lot of interpretation/ understanding, CP usually stands for a couples in novel and or show but It also doesn’t have to be a couples in novel, drama or comic it could also be referring to a duo (couplemeans 2 too) like the CP could refer to two really good friends in the show or novel they could still be said to have a great CP feel. SO in short it means 2 people with a wholesome feel/chemistry. I’m bad at explaining but hope this helps.

I think since I have these feeling it shows how great both actors did in this show. Love there chemistry so much and there acting was so cute and made me believe in the story. (Not accepting any disagreement and or bad comments on either actor :P) So sad that I almost didn’t watch this show due to all the negative reviews, glad I didn’t believe it unless I see for myself.

I never read the novel so i actually just watch the show with no previous idea in mind. Plus it’s a adaptation not a live action or what is it called. His death did break my heart but despite the negative feedback I saw on the Chinese social platform as well as a lot of other drama review platforms, I really enjoyed this show and I kinda want a season 2. (Also I heard a really crazy rumour about horse abuse) Also you might want to mark your comment with spoiler haha.

I feel like I’m cheating on Leo Wu because I’m watching this while waiting for Love like the galaxy to finish airing before watching the rest of it. I love love love Lu Si CP with Leo but this CP is really cute too ;-; I love my bb Lu Si

Omg the moment when he came to save her last moment on the battle field in ep 37 had me smiling so much my cheeks hurt. ;-;
