I feel the same I hate sad ending so sometimes I skim the last episode. I don’t wanna say too much bc i don’t wanna spoil but if you want more details I can tell you.

It’s bittersweet :) don’t worry its still consider a happy ending. I personally really enjoyed this drama the main CP had quite wholesome relationship

Starting to watch it today and my thought right now is: to be honest the story is confusing theres so many characters but the main CP is really cute even without a lot of kissing etc they have really sweet flirting moment and some lines unfortunately can only be understood by Chinese speaker as some are puns. Chu chu is also really sweet (I was worried she would like the ML), the FL’s brother cousin is so annoying (warning of spoiler ahead) I saw spoiler that chu chu ends up with him, so sad :’( also the other cousin is annoying too (had to skip all her parts also heard that she tried to get the director to give her a romance part with the ML but the ML rejected)

She’s pretty annoying throughout the drama, she will get a little better near the end but I can’t bring myself to like/forgive her. The most annoying thing that she does is after FL master (the clan sister’s dad) died/ got killed she believed that the FL killed the master and stabbed her through the heart I believe and the FL almost died, ML saved her by using the black and white flower they got from the old man in the cave.

The fl lead has a clan sister that does some dumb stuff. Do you want spoiler?

To be honest I have no idea because I decide to watch the last episode to see if it would change my mind about dropping it but no it didn’t. Sorry :’) this drama was just too painful to watch for me especially after watching their love better than immortality. They got to work together again because that drama did so well and this drama really hurts both my brain and eyes. However these are my opinion you can still choose to watch it.

Also I though you look familiar haha, I think we talked before under the WRTW comment section. Can we talk about how pretty lusi looked in the last episode like when they went to live in the suburbs but poor yang yang’s wig look too tight haha but still handsome, my favourite look is the wavy bangs with his hair down haha too bad he only had that hairdo like twice i think. He also looked really good in the black costume.

I agree :’) there BTS made it even better especially the wedding BTS (not sure if you’ve seen it) SAME OMG THEY ARE THE REALEST CP EVER WL-ZL literally theres so many videos on the Chinese social media platform showing there many things that seem like hints of being a real couple like they have a matching couple t-shirt and a matching couple’s water bottle and WL likes green and ZL likes purple and they were seen using items that were the colours of each other’s favourite. Also there actions are similar too. Just super sweet. Also there CP fans photoshopped a lot of there photos into couple photos and they look really realistic lol.
IKR the director choose Lusi because she’s talented. I think it was bc WRTW came after YY’s drama with Dilreba and fans were saying he “downgraded” and blah blah. Hahah your comment is very adorable yet funny. They just really hateful for no reason really. Acting like they are the boss, this type of fans give dilreba a bad image. Dilreba is beautiful too but everyone have there preferences, I just like watching Lusi’s acting and the dramas she star in. I have watched Dilreba in sweet dreams and that drama was cute too.

Others then this line there is a heartbreaking line said by shaoshang that I think you might like too , after some fight with here mom (I don’t remember which fight, maybe after she hit here palm with the ruler?) “Instead of trying so hard to please those that already had negative assumptions of you. Why not just be more ruthless, since you have no one close to rely on, nor close ones to share emotions with. I know right, every bts and set with lusi everyone is so happy and she’s so nice to everyone especially to her fans, even when she’s super tired she would wave when they call her. Omg if WRTW wasn’t stared by lusi and yang yang then I wouldn’t have watched it. I actually really enjoyed the story and want a season 2. There bts were adorable too, they were like 2 little kids on set. I guess everyone has there opinions but I felt they made a adorable dynamic and had nice chemistry. There was a bunch of dilraba fan pissed that lusi stared with yang yang. So annoying. In WRTW there were some really sweet moments that would have been cringy if done wrong but those scenes I found to be really sweet to the point I would go back to watch them again and again so I felt they had great chemistry.

Hi I wanted to answer some of your concern/ comment that you mentioned. As there are version with bad translation so you might of misunderstood or bc the director wanted to show certain things through details inside of saying it directly (basically a lot symbiotic scene and detail). I hope through my explanation your thoughts may change as this show as it is really such a amazing show. Some explanation may be based on my thoughts or how I proceeded it.

First, the revenge wasn’t crammed into the last few episode, throughout the whole show we see that he’s looking for clues of how his whole clan died and by the end we also see he knows that he saw who killed his dad but he couldn’t say anything because he didn’t have any proof. In the end his last evident was destroyed by that man (fake dad) and also his aunt (fake mom) died which triggered him into wanting revenge. Since young his crazy aunts been telling him to get revenge even at her death and her last words to him were reminding him to never forget what you need to do, you must get revenge” which triggers him to forget about getting revenge lawfully but instead to just kill him and his whole clan. This really died together and explain his actions throughout the drama.

Now about the fire. The fire was a plot twisting, the real big antagonist were the people that helped the current king get the throne (we all thought it was Buyi’s fake dad but he just got KO by Buyi haha), they wanted to take back the throne (the madam help because she had personal conflict with Buyi and shashang) and this fire ties to 2 plots.

1 plot is a line/ phase that Buyi once said (I’ll try my best to translate) ‘’If the heavens is righteous, then for sure they wouldn’t let fated lovers part.’’ So even if they go through a lot of conflict they will come back together (kinda hard to explain, it sounds better in Chinese lol).
The 2nd plot is the fire revenge plots were there to show each characters development. The once kind madam that was a pushover became a scheme person that tried to kill them and the other couple that had some conflict due to there no love marriage and unhappy previous engagement (she always bullied him so he never liked her) realized there love for each other. So the fire helped smooth a lot of misunderstanding and acted as a arc to help both couple understand each other’s feeling (also Yuan Shen in the background was so comedic lol). I felt this scene was essential to kind of help the characters understand/ work through some feelings. The fire almost symbolized there past being burned away, the moment they see there loved one is well they realize the only thing that matter is to be able to be alive and together. When facing death they realize they need to be honest with there feelings or they will be regretful forever.

The reason why it take Shaoshang so long to forgive him is because her personality is just like that, she’s stubborn, and doesn’t trust people easily, a key characteristic that is mention a few time through out the plot is she says “I make my own decision and I never regret my decision, whatever I decide I’ll go through with it and live through the consequences” (a rough translation). She is a smart independent little girl, she grow up not know what trust and love feels like which resulted in the shaping of her personality. These characteristic are already imprint into her. She lived 15 years living in this kind of environment, it was mention that if she wasn’t smart she would have died long ago. (Fun fact in the original novel the real Cheng shaoshang died and the main character is actually a girl from the future that time travels into her body -> which is why she so smart and knows how to make inventions)
Even when her parents came home she still didn’t really believe her life would be better and its seen that she was right, she only could rely on herself when she was bullied her mom would only blame her and be strict with her. (If you watched the drama you know) Back to her and buyi. In the drama we see that she when she finally learned to love and trust him and after she completely handed her heart to him he chooses not to tell her anything and decides to get revenge the day before there wedding. She gave him many chances to be honest, she was respectful and trusted in him even when she felt something was wrong, she wanted him to tell her himself but that moment never came. He promised to be by her side forever, the scene were they were kneeling in front of the name of all the clan member that died she said to him “As long as you don’t wrong me I will never abandon you”. They swear to the gods and gave each other matching bite marks.
He demanded she tell him everything but here he is hidden such a big thing from her. After he was saved, the queen asked him if he regretted his decision he said he didn’t and that if he went back in time he would do it again (cheng shaoshang hear this). Then he demanded to be punish and go to war for 5 years (basically hiding/ escaping from shaoshang). The drama didn’t show it but in those 5 years shaoshang suffered a lot. She got so sad that she got sick so bad that she almost died, her family even prepared a coffin for her. After she got better she locked herself into the palace with the queen. (The queen demanded to be placed into the cold palace which is kinda like prison, you can go in but can’t ever come out). Its obvious she still loved him but she didn’t want to be hurt again so it made sense it took her so long to forgive him.

Going back to that phase I mention before ‘’If the heavens is righteous, then for sure they wouldn’t let fated lovers part.’’ means no matter what happens, true lovers are fated to be together, no matter the road the destination is always the same. There ever encounter showed that they are fated, fate seem to always tangle them together, even in near death situation, buyi alwasy makes it in time to save shaoshang. They always manage to be together in the end because even heaven is helping them. If something is meant to be then even if you let it go it will come back to you if its really meant to be. When they both decided to let each other go and that maybe they weren’t meant to be, the scene where they talked and looked at the moon I literally cried to bad, every moment in this show was amazing they did such a good job ;-; amazing acting.

Now about the whole cheng family coming, this made sense because there was literally a small battle/ war happening. The cheng family is a family of soldiers so it made sense that they came as backup. It was mention that that the bad guys prepared a bunch of soldiers/ puppets to fight so it made sense buyi asked for backup. Plus he worries about shaoshang and is overprotective so it made sense he would ask for backup for her.

Yang yang being able to ride horse is understandable as the cheng family is a family of soldiers/ commanders and in that time riding horse is so common its like being able to ride a bike almost. If they made her hold a sword and fight then that would have been super out of character.

I agree the ending wasn’t the best, it was a ‘happy ending’ but I still felt empty. So apparently there were episode/ scenes cut because the director were being rushed to finish the show and there’s are currently rumours that the director plans to re-edit the episodes and re-air it possibly by New Years as a new year gift to fans (but these are rumours, not sure if its true)

I agree haha, when I first saw third prince he had such a stinky expression I thought oh no he’s gonna be a evil character but nope plot twist. I loved his bromance with buyi and I actually liked his character a lot, so glad he didn’t end up being a annoying charcter.

I laught, I cried, so many unforgettable scenes and so many beautiful scenes (first show to ever make me interested to know who the director is). This is one of the rare show where almost every scene/ moment were meaningful.

I feel the same way. Aside from my concern of appearance wise not matching, my biggest concern is his acting. TBH I’m actually ok with his appearance, he’s quite good looking. I know Victor Ma from ‘the coming 1’ (loved that show), he debut from a choosing idol/ singer show. He’s a rapper and now he suddenly going into acting? He also went on a acting reality show called ‘Hi director’ where you act scenes and famous director teach/ comment on your acting skills. His acting was kinda cringey but he did get better near the end so hopefully he puts though into understanding the character and bring Sang Yan character to life with his acting. The pressure is high as this novel has lot of hardcore fans.

A lot of novel fan were saying a lot of hurtful comments on the Chinese social platforms. They think she doesn’t deserve/ suit this role ;-; and were picking on her looks and say how so and so would have been better or so and so is cuter and so on. My poor bb has so many anti-fans just bc she got popular through web drama and bc she got to act with high rated actors not long after debuting. Hopefully she knows there are many fans that love her and that eventually everyone can see her talent and realize how sweet and nice she is. She’s so loving towards her fans and she treats fans as if friends ;-; I’m really excited for this drama, I hope the director will put lots of love and time into it and make the show good and as close to the novel as possible to save my bb lusi from anymore hate. (If you seen who rules the world, she got hate from that drama bc the drama changed the story from the novel).

SO I watch the first few episode and I from just that I felt worried about this show so I looked up this show and saw some clips. SO the FL’s best friend drugs him and sleeps with him and then he believe everything she said? And when the FL got upset he got upset too and just let her deal with it herself? He even hugged/ comforted the FL’s best friend (the one that drugged him)? and he literally have no boundaries with the others females like WTF. Worst ML ever. Also the ending felt so forced, I would have literally been happier if she ended up with the second male lead or even by herself. At that point I don’t even want a ‘happy ending’ anymore, just let all the character die and then the end. Also the bad character got to live? Wtf? And she got a happily ever after and she’s prego? WTF? All the good characters died? WTF? This director/ production team really butchered one of my fav CP ;-; My soul and my eyes and my brain hurts
