It was Zisheng who chose to abandon Shao Shang. He very well knew how her life had been and her thoughts on how…
I won’t explain farther on the abandoning part but I can explain the aunt instigating him. It was in the drama, his aunt has been tell him to get revenge even at her last breath, all she cared about was revenge. Almost every moment she’s reminding him again and again of his trauma, never allowing him to escape this nightmare. Even when he was finally happy after being in love she still only really cared about revenge, even in her rare moments of clarity she reminds him of revenge inside of caring for him, she placed a lot of mental burden on him. His aunts death was also the last straw that made him decide to take matters in his own hands and just kill his ‘father’ and his father’s clan.

Hi savvgl, I really like what you said but the reason she ‘poked her nose in areas’ were for other people not for herself. She is a very genuine kid, because the queen was nice to her and was like a mother to her she wanted to protect the queen and in some way I believe she thinks of her as a mother already, she can’t just stand by as the kind queen gets pushed around even if it meant there are danger, she wants to be brave for the queen. The other times she as you stated ‘poked her nose’ was the thing with the first prince and his wife, CSS said she only did it for the queen, she just want to help the queen protect her loved ones, just like how the queen protects her. I think in a way she help/stand up for her loved one because somewhere deep inside she wish someone did that for her. Just like how some people are nice because they have always been tried nice or there are some that went through what it felt like to be not treated right so doesn’t wish for others to go through the same. Sorry if what I said was confusing but I completely respect your opinion :)

I agree with you on how most times i hate when the FL pokes there nose in area that are none of their business but CSS is one of the few characters that actually had the power/ability and right reason for doing it. Unlike some drams were the FL just helps every random stranger she meets making the rest of the charters likes the ML clean up after her.

Well the real CSS from the story apparent had bad personality like I heard she was mean to her servants etc, so her three lovers wouldn’t have liked her because the CSS they like is the new her. Don’t know if that make sense haha.

I feel you, I miss them, after finish watching I feel so empty inside haha. I wish they could work together again, hopefully a historical drama too because they looks so damn good and the chemistry omg. It will be like a alternative universe of CSS and LBY. Now I’m waiting for some up-coming dramas.

I mean it would make sense if she was a modern girl cause she made some kinda modern stuff while in the palace did you notice, and its hinted that her inventions were new, like the candy cane sugar she made as substitute for sugar (since the palace was trying to stay modest and not be too luxurious), when the king and queen first saw it they were like wow what a new and interesting idea. If she was really the uneducated CSS I find it hard to believe she could build don’t you agree? Hahah same I would be clueless.

Awe you’re such a sweet wholesome fan. I get what you mean, sometimes I read some manga or manhwa and the translations are so bad I think they used google translate hahah. Lol why is Shao Shang young businessman, they coulda at least made it young business women. Maybe you can try looking around for other versions like check out the link that was posted in the discussion board (I personally haven’t read it but maybe you can give it a try.)

Sorry that you had difficulties reading, my English may not be the best.
I never said I blame everything on LBY, no ones to be blamed. I love both LBY and CSS character and I’m aware they have there reasoning but you seem to hate/ blame CSS.
CSS reaction to his choice was one of the most realistic/ healthy response I have seen in dramas also it made sense based on her personality.
CSS always got her revenge herself when others were involve they were either fully aware or she warn them to make sure innocent people don’t get caught in her revenge. LBY’s crafty is on CSS thought, how is she suppose to feel when she thought his actions were out of love but actually theres hidden purpose behind it.
Exactly he got upset with her for not saying her troubles while he did the same. Is that not the definition of being a hypocrite. He hide his complete identity from her, making her question who is the real him? Who exactly is this man that she’s in love with?
She matured a lot by the end, she no longer the innocent and straightforward girl from the beginning anymore.
Umm bruh her issues were her being bullied by people in the palace is it the same as his issue? She said she wanted to mature and survive in the palace just like how he had to survive in the palace when he was young not because she didn’t trust him.
They were about to be married but she literal didn’t even know his real identity she figured out herself and tried to hint at him to tell her so that they can go through it together but he didn’t.
His decision was selfish. When he was saved and she spoke for him infront of the king and all the other people, it showed how there were other solutions to the problem.
That’s funny. He knew he had issues but he still choose to pursuit her? The moment he decide to get her for himself, she’s already involved. Like he already got her involve, they already a engage couple, at the last minute he changes his mind and pushes her aside?
She’s already in love with him. How does he expect her to live without him after he’s told her he will always be with her.
Once again you’re probably blind by Leo’s talented acting.
Yea the part where her mother diminished her in front of everyone was heart breaking. That’s really funny. Your perspective is pretty vicious.
A mother blaming her daughter for poor manners when she was the reasoning behind it. Wow. Also CSS isn’t even as bad as her mother claims. Why should she get shamed by her own mother. I personally know the feeling of being put down in front of others by my parents so I sympathize with her.
She just different from the ideal social image of how a girl should behave, what is wrong with that. Take a look at the princess and other girls that bullied her. They had proper education and upbringing but look at them. LBS even said he loves her because she dares to hate whoever and love whoever (quote from that engagement scene banquet).
He knows what she’s like and he likes her for who she is. If you completely change yourself to suit others in a relationship then you can be easily pua.
I’m aware she was immature at time but she’s 15. She learned to be more honest and to love him and he learned to be more respectful and etc.
As you said everyone has different opinions. You have yours, I have mines. Since you post such a intense view here I’m technically allow to say my opinions as well. The thing about your post is, someone may see it and be put off by the FL and not watch the drama. I don’t know you nor do you know me. Hope this made it easier to read for you. Appreciate your input thought :) Wish the best for you.

Yup, in the novel the real CSS died when she was sent to that old house when she was sick and the person in her body was the soul of a college girl who had divorce parents I believe. She was very smart which explains why she was good at building stuff and standing up for herself. If we think about it without the soul transfer it doesn’t make sense that a abandon/ mistreated CSS would be so good at invention when we are told her aunt/ grandmother gave her no education whatsoever.

In the drama they change a few stuff if you’re curious you can check the discussion post I believe there is a nicely well done post about some of the major differences. Don’t worry you didn’t miss it in the drama, the CSS in the drama is the real CSS. Also the reason they took out the soul transfer may be due to the topic of time travel is sensitive and I personally felt it was a nice change because in the novel the real CSS died and never meet her mom and brothers and never found or got love, so I personally really liked that change.

I agree with you so much, the drama is so nice. They author did such a good job on the story, they made her development of love very realistic and they also didn’t make her a overly nice person that’s just ok with being bullied and forgives everyone randomly just because she’s the FL and she never rely on others. The ML also had nice development, like from being super possessive and controlling to being respectful and supportive and to love in a more wholesome way (they both learned/ develop). The director also did a really go job on details and the scenery’s. This is one of the best drama I have seen in a long time. The whole team did such a good job.

Aw you’re such a wholesome fan, I hope you enjoy the novel. I currently don’t have time to read it but my friends have read it.

May I ask , where are you reading it from ? Could I get a link ? Also how is the translation?

I agree, but Tan Tai Jin is SO cruel. So I wouldn’t actually mind if they made him 20% less evil in the drama…
I haven’t read the novel but I’m excited for this. Could I ask, what disturbing stuff does he do?

It is short summary of major events which will be full of spoilers:It is like the entire life of Jiang xuening…
First I wanna say thank you for the summary. Really appreciate it, I’m really looking forward to this drama from what I have seen so far but I haven’t read the novel so I’m quite curious.

I also didn’t know Yan Lin was her abuser in the past life neither, from what I heard was that they were very good close childhood friend and that he was kind as said by Vico. I know he was lied/ manipulate by the FL or something. Could you perhaps give more details about his character from the novel. What exactly happened? Also I though he was a general (based on his outfit), he’s a prince? What are the roles of the other MLs? Also who is the king, who does she marry in the first life?

Ok unpopular opinion here and let me reiterate I SAID WHAT I SAID...👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿This female lead was…
In the most respectful way I wanna say you don’t understand anything and you don’t understand the extreme of her childhood trauma at all. She just trying to protect herself and survive. She was just a baby when she was left behind, she was literally treated as trash by her family until 15 years later did her parents show up. (Btw in the original novel the real FL died due to sickness and the soul of a modern girl transfer into her body -> which is why she could build modern like stuff) Then her mom treat her that way made her disappointed again and once again reinsured the fact that she only has herself to protect herself. (Also plus the fact that all those 15 years her mom knew that she was being mistreated) The FL is the most genuine straightforward little girl ever. She only gets payback when someone does her wrong, but when someone treats her well she does all she can to treat them ten times better. Like her cousin yang yang, despite her mom always treating her better, she was sweet to FL so the FL was always sweet with her and never hated her for her moms unfair treatment. The queen gave her the motherly love she always wanted/needed and always believed and never once lied to her and the FL was very grateful to her, she even spend 5 years with her in the cold palace as well as stand up for her. There’s many other example/ characters. The FL is in no way selfish. The ML lied to the FL and used her to help his revenge plan. Like when he hitted everyone involved in the pond accident, part of it was bc of his love towards her another part was to get access to files in the library that the guys leg he broke was in charge of. The FL as someone who grew up not being able to trust anyone was once again lied to by the man she learned to love and trust. Also Shao Shang did have a feeling there was something going on, she just wanted to be respectful and she waited/asked multiple time for him to tell her. She wanted to be there for him. He told her before if we trade hearts we need to be one and be completely honest to each other but he does the complete opposite making him a hypocrite, he basically abandon her once again just like her parents which is a major ptsd for her. After learning to love from the ML she become stronger and smarter and to start trusting more. Not only did he abandon her he did it a day before there wedding and right after he promise her to always be there for her and the bite mark swear they did (could you imagine going to a wedding and the groom doesn’t show up even thought the day before you guys just swore to always be together? I know I would be upset and heartbroken, and the fact that she was already being bullied/ talked about and look down upon for her parents abandoning her when she was young, and her previous failed engagement could you imagine the bully she will face after this? Especially in the old time when people’s reputation is really important especially a daughter of a general). If you must say selfish, the ML is more selfish. Even after he lied to her, she still choose to save him, after he killed everyone and after he fell down the cliff and when he was unconscious and refused treatment while in coma. Also before he choose to fail down the cliff, she said if you leave me I will never forgive you. (This showed despite him lying to her, she loved him and wish’s for them to go through trouble together). She was so heartbroken that she fell sick. After he got better the queen ask him do you regret your decision, he said no (which the FL heard btw). There was better ways to solve his problem, but he didn’t believe in the FL and decided on his own. I do agree she took a long time to forgive him but if Leo wasn’t the actor and the ML wasn’t that handsome/talented I think you wouldn’t think he’s the best anymore just saying. Leo the actor of the ML even said the ML’s characteristic are a bit extreme and psycho (in a interview about his character and there are even scenes in the show he alter to make LBY more humanize). They both have trauma but the difference is after the FL learned to change he went back on his words and made the most extreme decision and yes his childhood was traumatic as well but that’s not the fault of the FL at all, the FL actually was his ray of sunshine, also you may have forgotten, unlike the FL the ML have the emperor, the queen, the first and third prince there for him. The FL had no one expect perhaps her maid, but could her maid protect her (maid has no social power/role unlike the king etc)? I don’t think so. I think perhaps you need to rewatch it, its truly really well done and a beautiful story, the director also put a lot of thoughts into the details. :) Sad to see you walked alway from it feeling like this.

Title Who Rules the World Spoiler
Come on, the end is sad? I thought this had a happy ending. Im still in the first episodes and was anjoying it,…
I think maybe because they don’t know that they like each other and perhaps its because theres a lot that happens so they don’t have time for romance. Also originally they felt each other’s world were too different and they planned to part ways for example the FL just wanted to roam the world and stand up for the weak while the ML is aiming to bring down the 3rd prince and become crown prince. He knew she wants freedom but he need to become crown prince so if they are together she won’t be free in the palace (since the palace have many rules and political conflicts). Hahah glad to hear that you’re enjoying it :)

Oh and you have a misunderstanding. In the beginning where they were in the carriage together, he mentions that the person he has a crush on is the princess feng xiyun (who he meet when he was young). After they spend more time together, he starts liking her. They really respect and understand each other. (which is rare to find) For example FL is able to guess/ predict the ML’s thoughts and potential acts, and the ML knew/predicted she would get involve helping that general that died in the first episode etc.

Oh I think I know what part you’re talking about. I don’t wanna spoil but don’t be too worry. What I can tell you is that both FL and ML will have others that like them. I’m same as you I hate most love triangle too, this drama is one of the few that the love triangle isn’t that bad so don’t worry. I feel like the FL likes him but maybe she just not sure what like is and she is someone that more focus on ‘bigger’ stuff not so much on romance plus she has a slight misunderstanding about the ML’s personality (due to rumours about him I think). Her realization of her feeling is more gradually but through out the show until they become official they do already feel like a couple. (In my opinion, maybe you would disagree haha)

So something happens and the FL almost dies, the ML takes her to a old master that knows a trick/ spell called a life for a life and basically the reason why its bittersweet is that the ML used his life to save the FL and doing so his hair turned white and he only has 10 years left to live but the two couples go off into the wilderness to live a peaceful life together so honestly its still a happy ending, as I mention the ending is very sweet. In the novel that this drama is based on, they find a cure so to make myself feel better I just think of it as they will go off to find a cure but we just don’t see it :) Still worth the watch though so I do say give it a go. Feel free to ask me if you have any other questions
