After watching Wedding Impossible, maybe the typecasting is for the best.
She is actually very decent in the romcom genre as seen in the movie Nothing Serious that none of you probably watched. The Impossible Boyfriend wasn’t good that’s for sure but actors can grow and she has room for improvement in the romance departement, even if she is already one of the best in more serious and demanding role.
A dark, quiet character who's running from his past, and is kind of stuck in limbo in terms of what to do with…
What I’m saying is clear and it’s not that. generalisation aren’t accurate. You’re free to check the list of chinese dramas I have watched and that I am watching rn, I enjoyed the ML in all of them

I cannot say anything about the shyness she is probably more comfortable later but it was a tad too long for me. But saying he is not any different that any other ML is not a good argument tho. It doesn’t change the fact that it doesn’t appeal to me and other viewers too. It’s fine tho nobody can have the same taste and I respect it :)

I should have been more clear but truly Wu Lei is a great actor I discovered him in the movie Upcoming Summer but his character here is just so cringe and unconvincing. Just imagine if you have a lover like that. He never talk, always stare at you, always forcefully drag you around to kiss you. I see the type of character he is trying to convey, the handsome older guy who somehow doesn’t have any love experience (very unlikely but whatever it’s a chinese drama) but he doesn’t convince me he just creep me out especially on those early intimate scene. If you have an innocent and younger girlfriend who is quite shy in love matters you would think that the normal approach is to bond with her, make her feel comfortable and loved right ? But him as I said he just drag her everywhere, forcefully kiss her and whatnot. The girl looks like she is in pain everytime he come close. Isn’t it supposed to be an enjoyable intimate moment for both ? I don’t blame him for this tho but I think his character don’t work at all with the character Zhao Jin Mai is portraying.
OMG is the writer trying to kill me The struggle the ML and FL are going through make my heart aches it’s sometimes hard to look at without pausing ;-;
The pacing of the drama is a bit weird, why does the FL act distant in some scenes? especially in ep 10
It was indeed a little unclear but the truth is that she just didn’t like how CLZ planned the whole thing just to watch a movie with her and how he coerced her best friend into it. It was kind of a cheap move because he could have just asked her more openly since they already talked about going to the cinema together in previous episodes. They argue about it but make up soon after at the end of the episode when her anniversary is mentionned
I have watched and loved a lot of romance drama without any kiss scene. It’s fine if there is no kiss scene for me but faking it so obviously it’s just take you out of it so fast. Overall there is a lot to like about this drama and most of the point that I dislike seems to be because of the overall production especially the dubbing is sometime very obvious and horrendous (the scene when she sing for her birthday) or the amateurish editing (I remember one scene when the ML sat with his phone in the left back pocket of his pants but when he received a message he picked it up from his front right pocket and another scene where the FL was watching a French movie and after the scene implied that some time had passed, the audio still played the same sequence of the movie). The actor are very good for me especially LHC and WAY but how can such obvious mistake make it to the final product ?
