When rejecting Qiao Jing Jing is line is something like : « We belong to two differents worlds, yours is the brilliant one, mine is another » But when confronting his ex who want to rekindle their relationship this fucker says : « I agreed to date you because you capable and independant, it never ocurred to me to return your love » What kind of line is that ? Was there really a need to make him say such an unpleasant line ? Yes he felt that she was trying to come at Jing Jing and felt offended but honestly it was just mean for both girls because saying that also imply that he thought that Jing Jing wasn’t capable nor independant and that’s why he rejected her. I won’t even talk about that line he said to her calling her a beneficiary of modern society and never apologized or the fact that he rejected her two times. He didn’t even try to make it work or come clean about his feelings he prefered to see her miserable while burying his ass in his job.
Perfect drama with the exception of Duan Jia Xu and Mu Cheng Yun. They both came and did absolutely nothing except being extremely bothersome and no offense to the actors but their scenes are the cringiest I don’t even know the point of their characters.
That whole Duan Jiaxu situation is pretty awkward and even out of character I would say. They seem to be pretty close but between his apparitions there is a long gap of episodes and everytime it’s when Wen Yi Fan is here to push that whole g*y narrative. Where they forced to include this part because it’s in the novel ? In what way is it important for the story that WYF thinks that SY and DJX are a couple ? It’s not even funny
their dynamics when they are young reminds me of the movie Better Days in some way like he was always on her side even in her worst moments, walking silently, joking around, making her smile. He was very straightforward confessing his love immediatly when confronted by the teacher. Truly a green flag ML.
If there is one flaw so far and I feel obligated to speak about it is that the music feels obnoxious and over the top at times. I prefer to see the romance part displayed through acting rather that some singer singing about the characters emotions that actors are supposed to portray. I mean the actors so far have done a pretty good job so far displaying the characters feelings I don’t need some loud and boring music telling me how much Sang Yan love Wen Yi Fan.
