I'm surprised the rate is so low, I really enjoyed it. We love a fierce and courageous FL for a change, and I also really liked the ML who for once isn't always cold and insensitive. The plot is very interesting and the actors are great. The romance was cute and heartwarming (some questionable actions though). I had a great time watching it.
Lol, nope, no major character development for the main man, not really. (Per my comment, about 5 down.) I agree:…
Glad I dropped it then, thanks š¬ I was thinking they might be trying to show an awful side of him to highlight his growth better but if it's not the case then it's not worth watching for me...
Great drama! I put 10 because I had a great time watching it in one day: A lot of funny - sometimes ridiculous - scenes, I laughed a lot. The actors' performances were amazing and the plot was interesting and made sense. The chemistry between the lead was really good and I enjoyed the 2nd couple's story too. There were lots of great characters.
I'm only at episode 9 and I'm already so tired of ML's behavior and attitude. He's the definition of spoiled,…
Ep 13 - Yeah I'm dropping this drama, at this point it's just painful to watch. Just constant fighting with very little enjoyment that last about 2 minutes before the next misunderstanding. FL is just as annoying.
I'm only at episode 9 and I'm already so tired of ML's behavior and attitude. He's the definition of spoiled, entitled and immature. They can't even stay 5 minutes without fighting, it's really annoying. Can I expect a big character development for him?
I'm only at episode 2 but it's already hilarious xD, if she had stopped to think for 2 seconds she would have realized the stupidity of the plan "we arranged for you to save the king to get close to him so that you can assassinate him" ?? Why not just let him die in the first place? š
I really liked the ML, the actor is amazing. But the FL was super annoying from the start to the end. She decided to force herself onto a job she wasn't qualified for and yes the boss was hard on her at first to test her, but it was over pretty quicky, yet she kept trying to paint him as a vilain even when he was just expecting her to actually do her job. The plot wasn't the best with too many misunderstandings that could have mostly been easily avoided with a little communication, I get it's a common plot but it became frustrating.
I liked the concept of representing them with masks during their text interactions, it was a lot funnier that way. And the idea of 2 strangers sharing a cat was pretty good and interesting, too bad the cat was basically forgotten halfway through the drama.
I wasn't at all interested in the 2nd couple, it just felt awkward with the age difference and the fact that she's a young fan stalking her favorite celebrity.
For me it wouldn't have made sense for Xiao Bai to sacrifice himself for her when he knew she was in love with another man who could also save her. Would she have then left him for Shangguan or stayed with him out of pity? In any case, he would have been the loser of the story.
Not a fan of the ending. Shangguan and Chunhua were right, the "heroes" are such hypocritical, they are the first to accuse the 'evil' sect whenever they get the chance but when it's one of them that does something wrong, they start seeking evidence and try to excuse and justify it with "he didn't have a choice" or "It was wrong of him but I don't meddle in other's business" ... their whole justice system is a joke. They kill whoever they want for supposedly 'good reasons' but when it's the others they act as if killing is such an evil act... I really lost all respect for Xiao Bai by the middle of the drama. He was boring at the beginning and became more and more annoying.
Can we talk about the fact that Chunhua, a girl from a good family, has met no one who knew her before her accident? How comes she had no friends or companion lady? Like she came back to life and literally no one cared š¤
That kind of plot with love triangles and undecided FL is not really my thing, she kept going from one house to the other the whole drama. Honestly, she doesn't deserve Shangguan... he's done so many things for Chun Hua, only for her to be ungrateful until the end. And seriously the fact that they still called each other brother/sister, while kissing and all, was kinda gross š¬.
Shangguan was probably the only reason why I kept watching it. It had a good potential but it could have been at least 10 episodes shorter with less yoyo between the 2 ML.
Second chinese historical drama for me after A league of nobleman. But it seems a whole different genre. People…
I remember when I first started watching those type of Cdrama I had a hard time getting used to the characters spiting blood every 2 minutes, now I don't even blink š
I was shocked to realise I had hated him in Vagabond :o I would have never guessed it was him, he looks very different.
To be fair he looks pretty different, I saw that he played in Vagabond but couldn't remember him so I went on youtube to see : https://youtu.be/MS7iypsGT8s
Why did they feel the need to make the FL some kind of hero who wanted to punish unfaithful guys? Couldn't she just be someone who had multiple relationships? It's annoying that they felt like it had to be for some "noble" reason. it was refreshing to see something else than the innocent girl who doesn't know anything about life or men... I still loved the drama but was not fan of their reasoning for this.
I liked it at first but it got pretty boring. I only kept watching because I loved the teacher, he's the real hero of this show. The way he started to stand up to everyone and actively scheme was interesting and funny. I liked his interactions with the ML. But on the contrary, the ML was very passive. He kept being wronged so many times but didn't say anything or try to fight back, it was very annoying. All he did was give those stares and empty speeches, telling people to stop being cowards and not to run away, as if he knew better. He wasn't able to prove his innocence, okay, but the worst part is that even when someone else brought him justice, he couldn't even say what had happened to him. As if he actually likes to be a martyr that suffers in silence... It was pretty disappointing.
Nice surprise to see Moonbin though, I really liked his character.
Watched the show over 3 years, always when I felt in the mood for it. Now Iām finally close to the last episode.…
I'm confused ... there are so many great dramas out there, why would you loose your time watching something you're not really interested in for over 3 years? š¤
This drama was incredible. One of the best I've watched so far. It was so refreshing and organic with a healthy relationship based on honesty, trust, respect, and open communication. I don't know why so many dramas fall into the plot of toxic romance, where the man is just horrible but the woman still falls hopelessly in love with him just because he had a difficult childhood. Well this ML is proof that this does not excuse them for behaving like jerks.
I loved the sisterhood that was developed in the drama. Out of habit, I was expecting the typical betrayal between friends but I was pleasantly surprised. The drama clearly had an angle of women empowerment of all sorts, and it was pretty well done. Women supporting each other, we don't see that very often in those dramas.
The romance is very sweet and slow, no love at first sight, but a true deep love that grows as they get to know each other and build a relationship. Not many fights, it was more of a mind game but the political strategies were very interesting and easy to understand, they usually tend to get boring but not this time, the plot was amazing.
The cast was incredible, loved all of them. They were all talented and gorgeous, I didn't know any of them but now I'll look out for their next projects. The characters' developments and the background story-telling were well handled, it was moving for some and funny for others. A special place in my heart for Princess Yuan Yin who was amazing.
I had some good laughs and shed some tears. Overall there was no time to get bored despite the drama beeing 40 long episodes.
I don't get why this has such a high rating... The concept of possessions, superpowers, and a secret society of…
Because they needed a more interesting purpose. They actually talked about it in the drama. I think the point is to show that 'evil' doesn't just hide in the dark, sometimes it's right in front of our eyes and can have an impact on society as a whole. If you think about it, most super heros storylines are linked with politics or medias corruption and societal issues, because the story gets way more interesting when it involves the general public. I personally loved the way they managed the storyline ^^
The plot was interesting at first but I quickly lost my interest as it was kinda forgotten for most of the history. For me the 2 ML had no chemistry: the mafia boss became all clingy and enamored the minute he met Kim with no transition, while Kim was all whiny and annoying most of the time. Kim just couldn't seem to understand that Kamol had his life in constant danger and was pretty self-centered, not even once considering Kamol's feelings. The fact that he tried to show Kamol how to treat his employees better was funny when Kim himself was constantly rude to them, taking his frustration out on them for doing their job and shutting doors in their faces lol ^^
It wasn't that bad, it had nice scenes but the script was lacking. I would probably give it a 7/10 but I wouldn't recommend it.
I stopped at episode 17. The plot was pretty interesting and I liked the FL but I really didn't like where the story was going. All of the characters' behaviors were so disappointing, I just didn't want to see any of them anymore and the situation seems to be continuing that way for a long time. Of course, there was probably a good explanation given in the last couple of episodes, as always, but it didn't seem worth watching 41 episodes more.

I absolutely recommend this one!
