So sad about Pian Ran's death, I had the feeling she was gonna die at some point but I didn't expect it to happen so fast. What a great choice of actress to play that role, she was amazing.
I think a lot of us (even I was if I'm honest) are being way too harsh on YXW for the way she treats TTJ, but in episode 28 she said something cruel but really true: why would she gamble the fate of so many people on the small hope that he's not completely heartless? When she in fact witnessed this same man show no emotions while killing so many people, whether it's in the present as Tantai JIn or as the Devil God. We have to remember that the weight on her shoulders is immense, huge. Yes, she made some poor decisions, but who wouldn't in her situation? She has to be extra careful, she can't just blindly trust him when so much is at stake. But yeah it's really sad for him though :/
ML is meh in a pathetic mama-boy way. Not a fan of the FL either though, both of the characters are unsympathetic and the story is really boring. The fact that the whole thing revolves around the betrayal is not enough to make the story interesting. Everything happens so fast by magic without explanations but it misses many parts for the story to actually make sense. It's like they forgot to add some important scenes.
I think it makes more sense to think of it this way. He feared that if he had said that he loved her and did everything…
How does TTJ thinking he was being played by her the entire time make the situation less painful? I never understand the plot in dramas where people lie that they don't love their SO, just because they know they're going to die soon or are leaving for a long time. It's so messed up. YXW could clearly see she was Tantai Jin's entire world, he accepted so much betrayals from her and forgave so many times. Even after he thought she tried to kill him, he still wanted her next to him. She expects him not to become the Devil God but then she goes ahead and breaks his heart even more than it already was. He said she was the only light in his darkness, and she just sent him right back into darkness. If that's not a reason for someone already so misfortunate to hate the whole world ... I don't know what is 😬
She wasn't really his wife in the Jing Kingdom though, no one knew her, she was seen as a maid in the palace.…
It's heartbreaking to imagine in what kind of emotional distress and loneliness you have to be, to accept having someone who betrayed you so many times next to you instead of being alone. When we think about it, he killed all of those who betrayed him without hesitation, people he knew his whole life. YXW is the only one he can't seem to let go. He went from being heartless to becoming this emotional and obsessive mess because of her :/
I know a lot of things don't make sense in this drama, but I'm still curious. Why do they need another wedding…
She wasn't really his wife in the Jing Kingdom though, no one knew her, she was seen as a maid in the palace. It makes sense to make it official for the people to now see her as their Queen. But I'm still confused why TTJ accepted to give her that position after what he thought she had done.
episode 21TTJ reminds me so much of klaus people be plotting to kill him all day and when he retaliates he the…
'The Untamed' too. Especially on the day Wei Wu Xian died, there's this scene on the rooth where some guy tried to kill him with an arrow and everyone cheered when WWX was hit. But when he took that same arrow to kill that guy, they were horrified and called him brutal and ruthless. When he pointed out the double standard they all tried to find excuses, it was so ridiculous...
That's odd, I find it's been quite the opposite. They've written TTJ as a likable character - he's a good, just…
I was also surprised how good he was and trying to do things right as a king/emperor. No one would have expected him to be like this after all what he went through. I would have thought after he was betrayled by so many he would have stopped trying but he stayed the same despite it. I guess the fact that he still has a great team beside him (Nian Bai Yu Pian Ran and Ye Qing Yu) helps him make the right decisions.
When the trope is enemies to lovers BUT, she's the only one who thinks that they're enemies and he's been head…
Well at the beginning he was being beaten up by her (the original wife) every night for months, eating garbage, and being humiliated even by servants because of her. I think the only reason he didn't really hate her is that he wasn't able to 'feel' before, he had no real emotions. He started to feel thanks to her. But I would still consider them enemies then.
I have one major issue with the drama - they keep trying to frame Tantai Jin as this evil demonic god, when he…
I get what you mean, but I guess when you see one man destroy and kill billions of people, you're a little less compassionate lol. They only thought about the problem, not the source. And only when she went in the past she started to realize how they treated him and what led him on that road.
I just watched the Cdrama 'Love better than Immortality' and it had the same debate: the 'good guys' always think they can do no wrong just because they have no evil intentions, but when you take a look at their actions they're often just as selfish and in quest of glory for themselves or for their people. They do horrible things for supposedly good reasons and call it heroism.
I feel like she still doesn’t know and us as the audience don’t fully know for sure how it works. I think…
Maybe because when Sang Jiu became devil it was still her, with her anger and resentment that took over. But yeah it seems different for TTJ, probably because of his evil bone.
No one can tell me that TTJ is not kind and generous for an emperor. I don't care if he seems ruthless and everyone…
I was annoyed at Ye Xiwu's reaction too but if we take a step back, we also have to take into account her own story. She watched that man kill billions of people and her whole family in front of her eyes. Even if in her head she knows he's not the Devil God yet, her heart still remembers the pain and he looks almost exactly like him. Yes, she jumped to conclusion but, she had reasons to do so. He didn't try to explain when she asked what happened, he was provoking her, pretending he killed them arbitrarily just because he wanted to.
But yeah it's really sad for him though :/
