Tbh, I expected a lot better because everyone was praising it. I pushed myself through it, hoping that it will get better at some point. Ep10, it will get better, perhaps it just has a slow start. Ep15, okay it should really start getting interesting by now. Ep20+, I already invested way too much time into it, so might as well just suffer through it. Loved the actors, loved the acting, loved the costumes, but then what was the problem, you might ask. The story. It starts really slow, lot of side quests, that somehow actually end up being related to the main quest. Lot of unnecessary scenes, dare I say episodes, easily could've been 30 ep long, but perhaps even less. I have mixed feelings, it wasn't totally bad, but it really wasn't worth the time I spent on it.
Well, I'm definitely not part of the generation that grew up watching Jackie Chan movies (in fact, this is actually my first), so his "magic" didn't work on me. It was an okayish movie. There were some good jokes especially in the first 20 minutes, but after that it started to get quite boring. The action scenes were lackluster, the villains also didn't hit that hard. At one point I even fell asleep for a good 10 minutes, tbh. The humor and the last few minutes managed to get it two extra points tho, so for me it was a 7/10.

I definitely agree with the afterlife thought! The tree is already so big, so a lot of time must have passed. I myself am not sure about the suicide part, because on one hand it would make sense: A Zan's mental state and they were young, but then I don't see why Ran Ran would kill herself. I think she would be strong enough to continue living without A Zan. On the other hand, perhaps they died of old age (would make sense, since a lot of time has passed so the tree could grow), and there is a saying, that only the body ages, but the mind doesn't. So it would make sense that their consciousness would stay "young".
Tho I didn't like the ending, it was a really good drama. Brings awareness to mental health problems and civilians who suffer from war. The leads are really cute together, and the supporting cast is very funny and entertaining too. CZY's acting was chef's kiss! For me, it was worth it, but imo, ep 36 was bad and didn't make sense (unnecessary stupidity from the characters lead to bad things) and the remaining eps had to clean up the mess as best as they could and try to save the ending. Hope it makes sense. :'D

So, in the post credit we see ML receiving the camera from the teacher. From the story's perspective it should be before the events of the 1st ep. But then it doesn't make any sense.
Why would he help Yerim collect clues about the kids and the teacher, when he himself is in on it? Why would the teacher give him a camera, that would help them "defeat" him or reveal his (the teacher) identity, or in general what he was doing to the kids? Also, why wasn't his contract among the other contracts too? Because based on the post credit, he was the FIRST to make a contract with the teacher, since he had that camera from the start.
But why did he even made one with him in the first place? He was technically happy, not like the rest of the kids, who struggled with something. Or was his first picture of Yerim to see if she likes him, because the camera would always reveal the truth? Or he was just that passionate about reporting? Too many questions...

I think you should start it, if you like the vibe of the first 2 eps, then go for it. I personally love the show, don't really remember when was the last time I actually laughed out loud while watching something, but here I did it quite a few times. I liked the tonal shift too, not saying the show's perfect, but I'm enjoying it way too much to be hung up on the not perfect stuff. I can't say anything about the end, I'm only on ep 9, but highly doubt I won't like it.

1.5x speed feels like the normal tempo for sure for ep 3.
