I’ve never felt this complicated watching a series. Usually, the industry introduces us to fairytale concepts where the characters are almost perfect and everything feels safe. 'Deep In' is a massive, unexpected jump for this genre. I never expected this in a BL. It’s the first time a series has made me deeply contemplate the raw, messy, and ugly realities of human behavior and choices. I never expected this level of psychological depth here, and it has completely rewired how I view BL. I must give massive credit to the writer, the director, and the actors for pulling off something this brilliant and daring.
Why did I stack them up?! 😭 I deeply regret binging episodes 4–9 in one sitting. My mind is completely fried and I'm in a total daze. It's such a complicated watch. Like, I'm so happy with Zhang Zhun and Zhen Xie getting together, but I'm also quite conflicted about everything that's happening. The moral dilemma is so real!
I know their slow burn is testing our patience, but I'm still holding onto hope for the finale. Can we please fast-forward to EP 4 and see RomeMok happily married, or just get a close-up shot of them flashing matching couple rings?
