Title Girls' Generation 1979 Spoiler
the only good thing was Dong Moon, he was a cutie, and I was happy with his ending...the story itself was nothing…
The other dad: prison again for more communist activity.

I am actually glad this is over at this juncture because I really couldn't deal with the lead female being the focal point of the show...I disliked her character, her relationships, her story or her whole dysfunctional family. The brother was funny but barely had a part worth commenting. The actress' (Bona's) high-pitched shrill voice rattled my brain every time she spoke.

I love Dong Moon, independent of her, although obviously everything he did in the show revolved around her. Am impressed by the acting and hope to see him again soon in something else. Am glad he got the girl in the end, but it was predictable from the beginning so there was unfortunately no surprise there.

The ONLY reason I watched was for the second leads/couple. I loved both their characters and story and how it ended for them. I already loved Lee Jong Hyun b4 going into this show. It was a nice surprise to be introduced to his co-star and their chemistry was right on.

Title The King's Woman Spoiler
I thought the acting by all was incredible. I had some minor issues with the end but do recommend this show. See…
So...Incredible acting by all. Love this show up until the end where there were quite a number of things that peeved the heck out of me:
1. The stalker girl obsessed with Jing Ke...she just would not go away or leave him alone. Why she followed them to the palace grounds after saying goodbye countless times already... After he had his last moment with Li, she shows up in his room just one more time to put her head on his shoulder. He just needed time to be alone to process everything and prep mentally for the next day. Why she would load more on him is beyond me. Totally selfish and annoying, let alone the only bad actor of the whole crew.
2. After Li heard the King say he wanted to user her son as a pawn to stimulate Fusu to be the real crown prince, etc, it didn't make sense when the king came to her later... why she begged him not to kill her son and Jing Ke?
She agitated the whole situation even worse. She probably could have gotten more from the King if she flat out told him she heard him lying about her son and why he really made him crown prince. This was unbelievable that she lit the jealousy fire begging him not to kill Jing Ke. His name shouldn't even have come up in that scene.
3. I understand on the surface why Li sent some drug to knock Jing Ke out but truly what was her endgame? To strip him of his manhood? It was no joke that he was obligated to attempt to kill the king because of the General and the Lord that killed themselves in prep for this attack. There was no turning back and this was his choice. Not hers to take away. What was gonna happen when he awoke? The second he didn't show up in front of the king, all they'd do is look for him and find out he was drugged. What was she expecting for Jing Ke after all this, that he'd go on his merry way? This whole piece of the script was not well thought out.
4. It was so unrealistic that she woke up from being drugged and was able to fight off over 60 soldiers with a dagger and make it into the King's court. This drama was pretty good about not having too too much fantasy in it, but that was so unrealistic it entered the fantasy-zone. I just shook my head the whole time she was trying to fight them off.
5. Its too bad we had a romance for about 42 eps and in the last handful of eps the King turns into a 100% piece of crap to her (and us) all of a sudden. His lack of trust for people, even her, is insurmountable in the end. His supposed real intentions just didn't fit with the jive and flow of the first 40+ eps. Sorry
6. Did they really have to kill Senior Brother Han? At least the kid could have been raised by someone that we, the viewers, would find palatable. There was just no reason to kill him off.

I really liked the show up until this ending was designed by the writers. I don't mind that all three of them died in the end...I just mind the details....

Kudos to all the actors regardless of the final script. Bon Voyage "The King's Woman"...

I don't know why this is rated so low. Maybe people really just hate open, interpretive endings. Or maybe there's a discomfort with this love triange scenario. I liked it and thought a lot was accomplished in the short period of time of a movie. This could have been a mult-part drama, although I am glad it wasn't.

Ju Ji Hoon is really good in this and we get to see a lot of him, which was fine by me. ;P I thought Shin Min Ah was perfect in this. And to my relief, not too cutesy and not overly emotional. I have recently watched her in a couple of dramas and my spectrum goes from loving her to being annoyed by her. In this case I was glad to love her. I don't know how its possible since this is a love triangle but really the other guy really was just a foil for the other two characters. He didn't stand out on his own and I didn't like him or hate him.

My time invested was worth it.

Title The Naked Kitchen Spoiler
I didn't get the symbolism of the seesaw and the tree of life, but I got the rest of it. I thought it was Du rea's…
This describes me too. After reading the above synopsis by @displacedmoon, I' will have to go back and re-inspect that photo of the tree of life but as a viewer i really had no idea about what the seasaw represented. Everything about thier threesome made sense except for I never really felt that the two guys had that much of a relationship where it would end in either of them missing each other. All in all I liked the film and I could watch Ju Ji Hoon all day long being sexy.

Title Attention, Love! Spoiler
episode 9...
it's about time they upgraded her hairdo!

I have to say the script was pretty sophisticated during the scene when Wang Jin Li called Yan Li Zheng out about keeping her in the friend zone..keeping strings attached..etc. It was almost too much for a college student to be spouting but they were all great points worth chewing on. I was glad to see Li Zheng show some emotion by punching him too. LOL

I actually wish she would detach a bit fr Li Zheng and go out with Wang Jin Li. He sincerely likes her. She needs to clear her head and stop obsessing. If he knows everything she is going thru and is still willing to spend time with her, court her, date her, whatever, there's nothing wrong with that IMO. I guess if she truly doesn't like him thats another story.

If you like this I recommend Padam Padam, it's by the Sam writer I personally like Padam Padam more though…
I didn't know that. I really liked Padam Padam. The acting and casting was phenominal in both. BUT, in my case, I liked IOTL's story a bit better.

I had a good feeling Lin would live after that dramatic leap but am surprised (and disappointed) that Won left the throne for 10 years. Should we assume he took the throne again when he returned? I'm not gonna think too hard about it...moving on....Bon Voyage to The King that Loves.... Was glad to be introduced to some excellent acting by this trio, especially Siwan. Wishing him the best in his military service.
