As SanSheng, Death Exists Not at the River of Oblivion is the highest rated of all his novels, I'm sure this will be looking for writers, director and S+ drama funding, before it goes ahead. Glad to see Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes has been filmed. Shasheng wobbles at the edge of a clear 5/5 score.
You can choose to view it as it isA huge reason things are so discombobulated, is because he stole her future,…
It applies no matter who she once was, because of how she was raised. She ended up/was granted the life she was born to, and he took it away knowingly, she seemingly also had to be willing. It's double dirty as he targeted her as a child, with a laughably small reward. Three days of whatever she wanted, in exchange for her whole future/destiny.
When he visits master he's in his black clothing. I'ts ''on the job'' vs his own clothing.Unless you've seen all…
No idea on that part, we're only to ep eight subbed. Hes worn black as immortal self visiting her in childhood, and also as his human self learning with his master. We don't know the significance of that part yet.
When he visits master he's in his black clothing. I'ts ''on the job'' vs his own clothing.Unless you've seen all…
I believe he wore black visiting her, as a child. We don't know the true significance yet, could be to go incognito as he's popping to the human world. He seems to be since then uber cultivating towards being a God, and is wearing immortal white.
why is it dropped from 8.4 to 7.9? is it that bad?
No, some people are just missing some aspects I think. The cgi is the best you've seen in a while. Some cannot reconcile her being unsuitable for her pursuits, but there's an explanation for that, you're told in ep1 why she's seemingly a fish out of water. There are also indicators for growth. Some say it's moving too fast, but I see indicators that this part of the drama isn't any main focus at all. As if there's more story, greater purpose. So when you watch ep1, quite a lot happens but you're not immediately picking upon it all. Much in ep 1 is then referenced again at some point and you begin to puzzle things. Like ''ah, yeah ofc this and that person saw that, at that point, and that's why she's acting this way''.
Where to watch the trailers with English subs? And why is the main male lead actor shown wearing a dark costume…
When he visits master he's in his black clothing. I'ts ''on the job'' vs his own clothing. Unless you've seen all eps and know .... I don't wanna spoil you.
On why things are a little ''off''.So, our FL doesn't ''fit in'', her choices and pursuits deviate suddenly because..spoilers…
You can choose to view it as it is A huge reason things are so discombobulated, is because he stole her future, in exchange for her experience as a child. She's now living a destiny that was never meant to be hers. She's just ''any rich girl'' ....but she's very awkwardly stuck being pushed towards a destiny that should have just been a life of leisure, but instead is that of a cultivator/immortal. She doesn't belong, she feels like a fish out of water because, hey, this was never her destiny to begin with. She should have married some rich guy and lived an easy life, just as she was raised to do. At least mr immortal had the decency to know he was wrong to do this. Once previous memories return to her, she will change, as they do. As will he.
To me the cliche is the obvious reincarnation story here. They're obviously both 2 reincarnated immortals of some…
I think she's the bloody firebird too ffs. She's some sort of battery to be used by him. She has a chance to restore a former immortality/god ascension if she can meet arbitrary goals on earth- but its effed up. I see his immortal self as a bit of mashup between Donghua Dijun and that guy from Ancient Love Poetry. If he doesn't love you, he don't give a shi.
Now this really is possible spoiler territory, although I never read no novel or anything.Musing on where this…
To me the cliche is the obvious reincarnation story here. They're obviously both 2 reincarnated immortals of some kind, where as ML clearly found her first and regrettably had to align her destiny with his, yet again. Feels like her human reincarnation was something she earned somehow? But he stole her reward. At first it seemed he took her on that 3 day playdate exchange and then died/ reincarnated, but it seems he's uber cultivating and he has a flesh suit traipsing around on earth. There will be a merge or memory restoration at some point, where they'll be totally incompatible, and he who's supposed to be DEVOID of human emotion, now carries curse of love, complicating god ascension. It clearly kills his Master to hurt him with this curse, but it seems Master was raised by MLs immortal self and ML mustn't love - especially not her.
One thing is for certain, the reason things are so discombobulated, is because he stole her future, in exchange for her experience as a child. She's now living a destiny that was never meant to be hers. She's just ''any rich girl'' but stuck being pushed towards a destiny that should have just been a life of leisure, but instead is that of a cultivator/immortal. At least he had the decency to know it. Is this the drama of the year? no, but there's so many stars in it that it's worth it, just the cgi alone is better than most drama this year.
We know demons are after her because she's likely a missing immortal or demoness, they mention this. At the very least she's born with infinite potential, like a sort of battery, we saw that on her birthday ep1. She's been banned from going out her whole life and there seems more to it. Immortal in ep1 ''steals her future'' her true destiny, in exchange for 3 days of everything she wants- little girl has lots she wants to see, so he takes her to see it all. ''I'm regretful to do this to you, but you've agreed to this exchange, in 10 years your new destiny begins, I'll regretfully not be here to see it''.
Second brother of the Duke's house accepts a bribe from her daddy, as daddy believes gold buys good treatment of his daughter. But 2nd is offended by the FL, because he's a real catered to bastard who always gets his ass kissed. He has it in for her ever since, and won't let it go, accusing her of cheating not wanting her to join the Duke's cult. He develops grudges left and right with anyone who won't kiss his ass. He lies to the Duke and makes something up, the Duke will find another way to get her. The Duke already knows something about her, everything powerful saw the light descending from the sky on her birthday, it landed smackdabble in her house, on her head. Everyone heard about the demoness attacking her and wanting her, so they knew she was the source of the power spike. Duke wants her to use her. She declares that being useless is horrific in ep1, she tells everyone she cannot remain being useless as demons are obviously attracted to her. She decides to take the Duke up on the offer, but to enter like everyone else. She asks the only ''immortal'' she knows, as she suspect ML of being HER immortal, she turns up to find him. She's been romanticising this immortal all her life remember.
The aquatic demon men are looking in fine form indeed! This drama is doing everything right so far. You know how seven out of 10 hyped dramas this year were failures and disappointments? Two that NOBODY saw coming, right out of left field, this drama and Love Between Fairy and Demon. This is that left hook outa nowhere.
I don't know who in the production, but somebody deserves a hug, kiss and a raise.
I'm starting ep4, crank up the quality, because some of these effects are CRAZY for a drama. The mood music is also quality, instead of typical xianxia. It has game quality to it, etheral. Even if all we get is quality mood and fx, I'm happy! Almost every wuxia and xianxia is ruined by laughable, cheezy scenography and generic soundtrack. I'm actually LISTENING to the background sounds, instead of feverishly trying to block them out. You won't have to squint in order to enjoy this either. It feels a bit like when you enter a new area in a game and the esthetics have received proper thought.
