can someone recommend some dramas similar or better than this drama its so good and idk what to watch after thisðŸ˜
I second Bloody Romance vote, because it’s good but you’ve also never seen anything like it. Best drama for budget, that I’ve ever seen. Another excellent drama is Ancient Detective.
Rise of Phoenixes is a mammoth of a drama, with exceptional leads and overall exceptional acting, not for the faint of heart however. It have one of the best characters ever written, Ning Yi. Chen Kun and Nini became so close, they even live as neighbours these days. One of the most intense duos I’ve seen on screen. In the novel, they’re actually written as sociopaths, intense read. It’s spicy, vindaloo drama. The Emperor, you come to fear the guy, you start bowing when he comes on screen, this has NEVER happened to me before. You also angst over him seeing through you, like you can’t even lie to your dog, if the Emperor is watching you on the tv. You should see Fuyao first, because she’s their great ancestor.
I watched ep1 and completely FORGOT Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan were in it at all. This drama doesn’t need the leads, funnily enough and I found the other 2 girls for more engaging. Well I guess pigs are finally flying.
This drama has over 40 million view, yet there's only 4k here, Mdl is not popular
It needs to be an exceptionally different drama to take off on MDL. The Long Ballad last year, very quickly became the most commented drama on MDL. This is yet another food oriented drama, which means it needed to be very different from all the others, to really take off here. Something in a drama has to inspire passion.
The most poorly edited final ep in memory. I have black hair, white hair, black hair, white hair whiplash. A first year editing student would make these mistakes. It looks like it cost 10 dollars to make, and those 10 dollars were spent on McDonalds, to please the above average cgi chief responsible for the decent looking dragon. Su Mo's wardrobe department saw it as a passion project, which is why his robes are the only items of clothing that spark any envy to speak of.
We can only assume the producer will pay with their first born son, for ruining careers with this drama. The editors and their whole lineage, is busy bowing for eternity as compensation.
I've NEVER left a review like this. Legend of Chusen is still his best work.
In the end, I cried like a baby after all. This drama is one hell of a creature. Don't read beyond this comment, it's spoiler central. It's impossible to enjoy if you know the secrets.
OK, so having seen potential, once we get past the 'how we met'- that's been ongoing for how many hours now? This is a very magical world with incredible creatures, living and undead. This drama only suffers from lack of following the first rule of how to depict introductions; 1. 'how we met' storyline should only be as long as it's riveting. Most mediums solve this with shorter flashbacks or very gimmicky plot, this drama is still on this part, 5 eps later. Anyone know when we go back to real time? From world building in other mediums, this has great potential after this trip in the past.
Guys what's wrong with this?? Rating this low?I'm only watching Reset now and waiting for eng subs to come out.…
Thing is, editing and pacing is off. The anime is done introducing their love, quickly, and it's more impactful. The drama made a mistake spending so many eps in the past, when where the story starts is 100 years into the future and with some better plotted flashbacks. So, first several eps are all one long memory, and people are already over it because it's not beautifully done. I wouldn't be surprised if people say to skip first eps, as it's 3-4 hours of what the anime managed in 20mins. This still have huge potential, once they get this prolonged flashback over with. This is a MAGICAL world, with fantastical creatures, living and undead. So lets just get past 'how we met' part.
I was so excited for another Croton Media drama but this drama has been really disappointing so far. The love…
Editing and storyboard mistakes, but having seen first 4 eps of the anime, this drama should be worth it, after this 'how we met' flashback. The anime clears things up. In fact, we get to learn a lot from just a 1min intro, and then tastefully explore their past through a scene in ep 3 or 4 of the anime. They'd need all their cgi budget for what comes next.
Watching the anime, the drama is suffering from bad planning, probably already from storyboard stages. If you want to understand the drama, watch the anime, which doesn't suffer from storyboard chaos, editing etc. The execution of the drama could have been a lot better. With any luck, the drama will pick up, once we're out of their past, and in their current timeline. Even the first 4mins of the anime sets it up for us well. https://myanime.live/5749/jing-shuang-cheng-feng-qi-anime-episode-01-english-sub/
If you want to try something that starts stronger, by the same Author, try Listening Snow Tower. If you want something wuxia, try Heavenly Sword Dragon Slaying Sabre starring Yukee.
It's not her fault. She got a character different from her usual ones. If you're a fan of her you'd know how she…
Not wrong though, she's great in heavenly sword and dragon slaying sabre, you forget it's a role. Maybe it's bc her chemistry with ML is superb. She's been FL in some half good dramas since however.
Ever since Legend of Chusen, I like the ML. This feels older and I cannot sense the promise of better things to come. There is no eye-pulling between the leads. I'll persist, but now Blue Whisper basket holds all my eggs.

Not the same as TLB, but very smart female leads. Also has the best grandma ever.

Come keep us company at this unassuming, yet surprisingly grabbing drama.

With the director, this will deliver.
