Title The Journey of Flower Spoiler
Two endings, or a bonus ending is you like.
This flowers journey is littered with too much growth through pain, I'd not watch it when depressed, unless you'd find the journey cathartic and healing.

it's normally included , which is why the end can seem a little split. It;s seemingly sad, but then inexplicably it's less sad. This drama was made at a time, when China didn't feel the need to wrap tings up in a beautiful Disney ending, these days things end happily ore often than not.

Chinese drama often ends as all lives do, we all come to the final end somehow, and this drama has as much bitterness and realism when it comes to tragedy of the human experience, as ancient Chinese lives would.
That's not to say that people didn't live and love along the way, and they really do live and love in this drama, maybe the wrong person, maybe at the wrong time, but isn't that life if anything is.

Xu Kai in once Upon a Time In Lingjian Mountain, refreshing isn’t the word.
Now, the next one I’ll mention isn’t happy-go-lucky, but he’s a very good man, a real good man, Ashile Sun in the Long Ballad.

This was a masterpiece! Any drama recommendations like this one?
As of right now, nothing is really this good, aside from older drama. Story of Yanxi Palace, Minglan, Rise of Phoenixes, 10 miles of peach blossoms. None of them are similar to TLB, but they are all thoroughly enjoyable. That’s the scale we’re using now.
On The Long Ballad Dec 9, 2021
You know, I have now watched all the other mammoth dramas of this year , TLB still has something uniquely special. Is it the director maybe? If so I have immense hopes for Blue Whisper which I just finished reading. At the same time, everything has disappointed this year.
Yanxi Palace, Rise of Phoenixes, Minglan and TLB and really nothing else has had a true epic scope, in the past few years. It feels strange putting TLB in with these dramas as it’s not heavy political intrigue at all and remains light, but nothing else is so thoroughly charming.
I feel like a junkie chasing a high, but it could be 2025 before another fantastic drama.

I think they filmed the whole parts already with the same casts, they only separated by parts so they can aired…
They don’t release dramas past 60 eps anymore. China has put a ban to that, like they did with a lot of time travel and now effeminate men.
Slightly different rules to dramas that were recorded BEFORE the ban/restriction. Why do you think No Boundary had two parts, one after another, Blue Whisper and One and Only etc had the same. It’s the new formula to get around the ‘not too much fun’ rule.

guest appearance would satisfy me
Skate into love is an ice skating drama. It has NOTHING to do with Ashes of Love.

Is there a weak to strong/strongest plot here? Something akin to douluo continent, Fights break sphere, Heavenly…
Yes, most definitely. He’s a whole different person by season 2, aside from his morals, which do wobble a little, but solidify.
Noble Aspirations, that’s what he has, what they all have. This story helps to define what Noble Aspirations really mean. What evils really looks like, what it means to be a GOOD PERSON.

Oh! I’m just about to start the novel!
So, I’m going through the novels, also Dramas, based on this Author’s work.
The Legends/Austentacious Lu Zhao Yao
The Blue Whisper
And now this Drama/Novel

Expect Blue Whisper and Eternal Love to have some actors overlap.
This Author is quite talented, having so many works adapted to drama, with quite some big stars in the leads (Dilraba, Bai Lu, Xu Kai etc) and she has more novels yet!
They definitely should have gone with the original title, however.

Unpopular opinion.
A drama isn’t good or bad, depending on if it’s a sad or happy ending.

A drama’s ending isn’t point blank, sad or happy, just because life or death gets in the way.
Until recently, realistic endings were more common in a drama, then, suddenly alternative endings crept up, just for fan service, so you could choose your damned ending.
Nobody walks off into the sunset, nobody, time changes people, makes people cruel and twists love into something ugly.
Some people fall in their prime and their love becomes ageless, untainted and legendary.
One for the annals.

Is your life about how you end?
Of course not, it’s the journey.
If you could peek at your final page, would you rather have never lived at all?
Of course not!

How these people love, is beautiful
Chose to watch this drama - because ALL love is one day lost to time, but these two people make you BELIEVE.

That’s what a good story is, it makes a BELIEVER out of you.

Title The Rise of Phoenixes Spoiler
Do you liked it or not?
She did suicide, because she knew she loved him uncontrollably, knew he’d do anything he needed to do to win- even if horrific, KNEW she could never live with herself loving such a man, after what her family and her people have been through.
She good, old fashioned, just cannot live with herself, because she would live next to him, as his closest person and she’d love him through it all, she’d love a monster.
‘I would rather die’, she’s a person of such principle, she’d rather die than live perpetual anxiety.
Does it mean they are any les real? No. They are a heartbreakingly beautiful story of love that lasts a lifetime.
But you must be able to live with yourself- by the end, she just could not do it anymore.
That’s where the realism hits- sometimes you cannot live with yourself, and this young woman was hollowed out. Ning Yi just didn’t face the fact that she was, until it was too late. Then he had to live a lifetime without his purpose of living- this was his real perpetual torment, his punishment, which is better than any prison or death, LIFE became his prison.

It's pretty cute! Sort of slow burn I guess, but they have nice chemistry :)
It's not really slow burn as such, they are already in love as the show starts, it's just that we learn about their history at a slower pace. It's unfolding to us.

This is a top notch drama with meaningful plot. It has very little to do with Goblin or Doom, as this drama has pulled from solid folklore and has real mythos to pull from.
What you can expect, is real, current commentary on the state of our beautiful globe and with COP26 in the news, the release of this drama couldn't have been better.
This drama does, in 5 eps, what Doom couldn't do in it's full run.

The backdrop is the 'end of days', the 'spirits' of Earth have been commanded to leave, by the creator, because humans have mismanaged their term ruling the planet, and creator wants us dead.
One such spirit is one of the very first born, Orad, aka the actual RAIN himself.
Orad has sworn to protect a little girl, as her guardian, as she has great potential and destiny looms.

As her personal world falls apart, and his world departs ours,
the Earth is falling to pieces, as rivers won't flow without water spirits, hot wells are cold, without sulfur spirits and the spirits of the unborn are seeking justice.
She's dying.
The world is dying'

...and then the LAST rain falls
