I was really fine, for a couple of days at the very least. Then I came across this last night, just the singer's conversations with the Heavens, and I freaking lost it.
I believe the author left FL weak and without spiritual power to avoid the Mary Sue cliche. I would say that it avoids the TV trope, as she isn't infallible, she can die, it's instead others who save the day. Yes, IT IS weird that so many men favour her, but they all do so for different reasons so to speak... which I guess is also a little much. I feel XL is that secret love that you never knew about. The saying goes something like - everyone is someone's reason to get up in the morning. CX is the boy next door, that you grew up with. Jing is that love you happen upon, your first love. As XY has spent most of her life in exile or hiding, she's simply experiencing all of these at once, that makes it feel a little too much.
Because this drama is one big trauma bond, she never got to experience in the timely order we're all afforded. She should have grown up with CX and met Jing much younger, FL would have just been some rich guy wanting to sway her with influence and XL may have been the love of her life. At least under the circumstances that CX came for her before she left Jade Mountain, she would have had a CHOICE.
I wish the show had a better or smoother ending with "1000 years later" All the main characters were reborn but…
I think XL's demon core is hanging about. So I don't think he's in for a reincarnation right now. Demon cores can reassemble, they can gather enough demonic strength to reawaken, they can also just hang about and guide loved ones to the afterlife. Chubby's little 300 years later montage show that it's possible for XY to see XL again upon her own end.

Having rewatched certain scenes so many times, I'm sure now that Xiang Liu wasn't 'all in' until they were sat there on the beach and she confided that she was afraid to let him in. That it must be a fate worse than death. I'm certain his heart was so moved that he couldn't pursue this any further, and she must have everything she's ever dreamed of. He was elated and devastated on that moonlit beach. He also realised fully that it would destroy her once and for all, if she allowed herself.

XL loved XY regardless of her form, because it was about point of relation, how they were near the same person with the same experiences. I don't think XL see most humans and deity as 'people', but means to an end and chattel. A'Nian exists to him because of her relation to XY and how easily manipulated she's been in the past - emphasis being how she didn't tell on him before. She was the perfect person to lure XY without soliciting XY's suspicious nature.
If it was XY, I think she would have always found 'company' and someone to be with, but I don't think XL was ever that way and that this accidental heart giving thing was a complete 'sneak surprise' for him and a one-off. Had it not been Xiao Yao, it would not have been anyone.

They all travel to the island where Xiang Liu met his end, it was blackened with the darkness of his demonic core and poisonous blood. After over 1000 years different life had sprung. She went to spend her last moments there, and reunited with XL much like Chubby did after his death.
Now, I can finally say my farewell to this drama.Even tho the feelings I had when I was watching the first part…
Don't forget Queen Dowager, Guardian of the Grove who aided him and also kept his secret for him. It's quite a bit touching considering who she is and how her life also played out, leading up to her becoming the guardian. Uncle Li Rong was also MVP.
