I honestly felt that this drama has an emotional depth for each and every character, including the antagonists too. And as you said, this unique point of narration adds weight to this intense political drama.
And yes, once again rather than a perfect tied up ending, it focuses more on character's journey which makes it much more realistic!!
I agree it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but perhaps this is one of those most intense, strong, solid plot I have seen recent times, with a beautiful romantic track which portrays mutual respect and care between the leads.
Hope more people may give it a try!!

Rebirth was a very good watch for me. I haven't watched Princess agents, so i dont know about either the story or the characters.
But imho, Rebirth has a solid and intense plot with fast paced screenplay, good action scenes, excellent acting by the actors,beautiful music and good photography.
Each and every character had their own story and emotional depth, including the villains. I liked the romantic track between Zhuge Yue and Chu Qiao.Their scenes were pleasant to watch and showcase how much they love and care for each other.
Li YunRui as Zhuge Yue has totally amazed me with his acting.
Totally an amazing 😍drama which is worth watching👍

I haven't watched princess agents, so I really cant tell whether its a continuation or not, but as fir thus drama, it is really good with solid plot and excellent performances..

For me, its a worth watching drama!! I too was skeptical before starting it, but now I am totally hooked. I didnt watch the ending yet, as of now I am at ep 25.The plot is solid and intense.
I didnt watch PA too. But Rebirth is very good for me. Maybe you can give it a try
