that's what I got from it and yeah, it's super wrong to not communicate about your past. the right person wouldn't care anyway.
as for how she ended up married, I think this was a compromise of the greatest level on both sides just because the elders had made an agreement. it had to be her because I think Madam Du had an affinity towards her.
exactly! but at the same time, if SH's widow status was not made clear to DYX that's wrong too. still doesn't…
this hasn't been made 100% clear either, but judging by how they talk about her marriage I do think she was properly betrothed and the marriage consummated too because I think this is the qualifying factor for a valid marriage back then? however, considering her husband was gravely ill, maybe the marriage was indeed just on paper and to make the character more palatable to this idol drama story the writers would likely say that she's still chaste. Either way, quite annoying for us as viewers
I know wanting to commit yourself to one person for the rest of your life should be romantic and noble, but I…
exactly! but at the same time, if SH's widow status was not made clear to DYX that's wrong too. still doesn't really excuse his thoughts, but deception adds another layer of problems to this union. ugh
can someone help me understand what happened at the end of ep11?
it was so poorly explained but basically what I understood (I could be wrong) is that the scholar DYX met told him about his past love and all the info links to the eldest Li daughter. DYX on the other hand, doesn't just take issue with this, but also with the fact that she as a widow did not stick by her dead husband's side. he said something along the lines of "if one spouse dies, the other should as well" because they're like promised to each other for lifelong. Then he says he'll investigate into the matter further because he doubts the scholar, but also if the info turns out to be true then the other dudes (CA and LH) should not blame him for being heartless and unforgiving
I had this issue when they chose to show the scene of Li Mama arguing with the landlady of the shop instead of showing Shou Hua finding Du Yang Xi in the snow and now they did this again with skipping straight to the aftermath of their wedding and we as the audience can only piece together fragments of what might have unfolded. it's unfair and lazy on both the writing and the production's part. Of course we weren't going to get a grand cheerful wedding celebration like that of the main leads' wedding ceremony, but we could have had some scenes of the conflict that would have unfolded after Kangning's departure, the persuasion of Madam Du, the reluctant acceptance during the vows, and we got none of it. Every time I try being optimistic about this drama it lets me down.
ep 9 and 10 were wonderful! I cannot wait to see the rest of the sisters find their perfect matches! idk if it’s…
you got it exactly. women wear their hair down when unmarried and up when they are. you'll notice this if you see the two eldest daughters next to the younger three when they're all together
as for how she ended up married, I think this was a compromise of the greatest level on both sides just because the elders had made an agreement. it had to be her because I think Madam Du had an affinity towards her.
and she's a one man girlie too like I don't blame her I wouldn't be able to move on from LYR either
