This show was enjoyable til I saw the sexual assault scene.
It wasn’t sexual assault. Hilarious you think this. It was a man, giving another man a much needed wank to ease him into a much needed sleep and he loved it and slept like a baby. #JustSayin’
I wasn’t sure about this drama when I started the first two episodes, as let’s be honest Taiwanese BL’s have been sadly on a serious slippery slope recently. I don’t understand what’s going on with their writers and directors. They were and rightly so, the kings of BL’s with their brave, provocative writing, which sadly became dull, unbelievable and fluffy. I’m so routing for them to reclaim their throne. #Fighting
However, episode 4 was intriguing. I liked the narrative around history and the science around human emotions and feelings.
I don’t usually do cute, as it bores me senseless and comes across as childish in an adult world, but I’ll hold my hand up and say I did like when Chu Yi Ping returned to the house to collect his bag and saw the obvious distress of Ever 9 at his departure and therefore took him to work. Also, the conversation in the car about what to call him, made me smile, together with the kiss when Ever 9 didn’t know what to do with his hands.
If I remain intrigued, which I am, I’ll remain invested.
Damn, this drama is such an excellent watch. I adore the depth of writing and for once the back story between our two leads, complements the current story narrative in their relationship and is thankfully not being used as a non-sensical filler.
I absolutely knew that fucked up Manager was using Hiro because he excelled at his job, why else would he pile so much work on him? So glad his Supervisor chose to be honest with him and show him his true worth. Can't wait to see Hiro grow some serious balls and once again adopt his 'cool' status as believed in the eyes of Kai.
I mean Touma is pick me that manipulated a vulnerable girl into a relationship because he saw kou trying to fix…
You see… this is where we have to respectfully agree to disagree. I haven’t read the manga and all I see is a guy eloquently pursuing a girl he likes. He’s openly laid out his reasons why and she appears to like it. Hence why she agreed to be his girlfriend. He hasn’t kidnapped her or put a gun to her head! Said he’d murder her friends and family. She has total freedom of choice in dating him. And, she’s made her choice. She likes him, not on the level of Kou, but she’s willing to give it a go. I respect her for this.
I mean Touma is pick me that manipulated a vulnerable girl into a relationship because he saw kou trying to fix…
See. I disagree. To me, which I find totally sexy and real, is that Toma comes across as totally real and honest. It’s just a man pursuing a girl he likes. As I continue to say, Futaba is no fool. If she wasn’t interested, she’d definitely tell him. And if he continued, she’d get angry and tell him: “I’m simply not interested.” The End. She’s NEVER said that.
I may have been disappointed by how dumb Kim Sa Ra was to go and meet her ex-husband in the dead of night, alone and then go into a derelict building, alone with him. However, I still really enjoy this drama. It has me engaged and you can't deny all the actors are owning and delivering as their characters.
This episode also made me realise what a damn good lawyer Kim Sa Ra is. I never doubted this from EP1, but it sealed it for me. When it comes to the law and protecting her clients, she's so fierce. She always puts together a quirky, intelligent plan, which either plays into the weakness, arrogance or delusional beliefs of grandeur of their targets, or goes full steam ahead, utterly fearless to take them down. I do like the cases, simply because they're not stereotypical - they have a dark edge to them which I enjoy. However, I have to say that whole case with the Influencer, just went too far - so over the top ridiculous, but good to see her taken down.
It's clear to me that poor, ex-hubby, suffers from serious, emotional anger issues, which in turn continues to ensure he makes the wrong decisions and moves. He literally is setting himself up to fail and ultimately be taken down all on his own. He needs to chill the fuck out! #JustSayin' .
Looking forward to next week, following that fake kiss and the look of surprise and indeed horror on Dong Ki Joon's face. My man definitely wasn't enjoying this moment and I'm hoping it's because he knows how his woman really kisses! #Snigger
The thing is Se Ra doesn't have a full picture of what he's really like. She still thinks he's human enough to…
I think if I recall rightly, both mother and son where just as bad as each other in ensuring she went to prison. Yes, I can see she views him as a huge obstacle to getting her son back. Yet, at times, I can clearly see she's not going to sell her soul to him to get her son back. Her objective, is to take him down and get her son back, so it still surprises me how at times she appears naïve and not 100% on her guard in her dealings with him. Still, at this stage, an engaging, captivating drama.
The thing is Se Ra doesn't have a full picture of what he's really like. She still thinks he's human enough to…
Actually, I don't find her character cocky at all. In the main, I find her sharp and intelligent. Yet, sometimes comes across as dumb. At the very least, I'm surprised she's not more cautious seeing as he put her in prison for his own gains. I don't think they'd be many people who wouldn't be seriously cautious around such a person. But, I do hear you.
I mean Touma is pick me that manipulated a vulnerable girl into a relationship because he saw kou trying to fix…
Yes, totally in agreement with you about the differences between his character in the manga and the drama. I feel for his broken heart, because it is indeed going to be broken.
The thing is Se Ra doesn't have a full picture of what he's really like. She still thinks he's human enough to…
Yes, I agree and am aware there's still so much she doesn't know, including the murders! Yet, I do believe she was aware that he was having affairs - after all, they were together for what, 7-years. I do believe that she knows he's an arrogant, entitled prick, who shouldn't be trusted, after all he and his mother did put her in prison, while also ensuring she lost her career. Plus, I think it's naïve of her to think he wouldn't do anything to her, just because she's the mother of his child - this is a father whom is likely causing his child emotional trauma from being away from its mother. So, no. I'd definitely, definitely be on my guard and yes, you're massively right, she's totally underestimating him.
So true! I did the eye roll when her partner Dong Ki Joon said he’d be there in 15 mins and she bravely says…
Yes, I'm hoping it doesn't go off the rails, because the premise is interesting and all the cast are good in their roles.
I thought it was the 'wise' CEO who recruited the Manager, so I did find myself surprised, as she would have done a back-ground check. I also think at this stage he hasn't actually acted strangely to give them any reason to suspect her.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Ten steps forward and 20 steps back! How can you be intelligent enough to know how to ruin your ex's political career, get his current wife a divorce, yet still be so dumb to meet him at a derelict building, at night, on your own, and be even dumber enough to go inside! Yet, allegedly, you have a very good understanding of how his arrogant, entitled, prick of a personality works?! Honestly, it defies belief!
I suppose it wouldn't be a K-drama without its unbelievable elements of ridiculousness. We're only nearing the half-way mark, so I suppose this had to be expected. Drama for drama's sake. It did feel, for a moment, a sense of justice, seeing his political career go up in flames.
Can't wait to see when mummy dearest and son lose everything and especially their much desired law school.
heard that actress who plays Yura has tons of plastic surgery! who the F did it? She does NOT look good. Also,…
Only an immature, despicable keyboard warrior child, with the mentality of an 10-year old would write such a despicable comment about a living, briefing human. Have a word with yourself. Have a fucking word and grow the fuck up... and while you're at it, fuck right back off to your Netizen world, because you're not wanted or respected here. #JustSaying'.
This is a forum to critique both good and bad about a drama. And yes, of course you should give feedback about a characters acting. However, what it isn't, is a forum to disrespect the looks of an actor. I'm sure you'll find other more engaging forums for that, which I'm no doubt sure you're already a member of.
And there was we thinking the webtoon in its final chapters was insane and ridiculously over-the-top and then they introduced the web novel to the drama! You seriously couldn't make this shit up! Whomever the writer(s) were, is either seriously gifted or bat shit crazy! #JustSayin'
For me, the most annoying part of this drama is how inconsistent they make Ji Won's character, to the point where it's so unbelievable. One minute she's brazenly slapping and throwing her ex over her shoulders and then they show her mutely being strangled when she's learnt martial arts and could have easily protected herself. What the actual fuck!? How is that in any way believable? Why would she choose to let him kill her? No bloody way!
I'm so here for the ride as it's seriously captivating in its ridiculousness.
I mean Touma is pick me that manipulated a vulnerable girl into a relationship because he saw kou trying to fix…
You see, I don’t think in any way he pressured her, quite the opposite. She’s sharp. Wise. Intelligent. There’s no way a man is going to manipulate her. She’s strong and always honest with herself once she understands her feelings, hence why she could never be manipulated and hence why Touma could never manipulate her.
