9/10 wow! Fair play. I can totally understand why you liked it so much. It was a unique premise as a story and on the whole the storytelling was lovely, but the fact I'd never re-watch it speaks volumes to me. While I'll definitely be re-watching Perfect Marriage Revenge. I hear you on the corpse thing - that makes sense to my brain. I actually think from the bed kiss, our female lead actually doesn't really know how to kiss. 🤣#JustSaying
The pacing and writing by way of storytelling is ok. I also find the acting just ok. However, in places, the dialogue is completely off! I think it's because of the subtitle translations. What is it about Thai dramas and this need to talk really, really slowly with long drawn out pauses and stares? I think the director thinks it creates suspense and intrigue. For me, it's quite the opposite. That opening dialogue sequence between Chao and Pie was painful to listen to on Chao's part and don't even get me started on that sex scene, so funny to watch!
Lovely premise for a drama and the end was to be expected, but I don't think it was well delivered. It should have ended when she received his letter. But hey-ho, I imagine the ending we got, was purely for fan-service.
Really enjoyed the scenes and chemistry between our leads in the past, as opposed to the present. It was a complex, angst ridden forbidden love, and I think they delivered it well. However, it was very clear to see in their romance scenes in the present, that they were ill matched as a couple or possibly badly directed. In the present, when it was needed, both leads simply couldn't up their romance game to emulate love, desperate longing (1500 years) and passion. For me, this hugely affected the drama and my viewing experience.
I found the script to be overly complex and repetitive, with far too many flashbacks. I loved our kick-arse, fierce, firefighting FL in the first part of the drama and absolutely despised her character in the 2nd half, to the point where I found her infuriating. They were like two different people! Her decisions made no sense. Suddenly, she could no longer fight. She became wimpy, wet and needy. Not a nice trait to witness.
For me, it is a 5/10 and no, I won't be re-watching.

Well, I suppose it did have to end that way. And, I agree with you, it was much better than the previous two episodes. It was definitely different, however, I felt they made it far too complex and repetitive, which in the end made it tiresome. They also ruined the FLs personality in the 2nd part also. Also agree, Kim Young Dae, was really believable in his three characters. Would I re-watch it? Definitely not. It's a 5/10 for me.
Every time I come onto this page. I can't help instantly stopping in my tracks whenever I look at the poster. Its dreadful. Whoever came up with Tor's position should resign. The man looks like a pubescent child. #JustSaying
Hilarious! That opening scene with Guy crying. Damn, was that cringe to watch - terrible acting, just terrible. Overall, I thought the series started out ok, nothing special or memorable and then took a total nosedive. From the start, the script was atrocious, it was lazy, lacked depth and any kind of intrigue. This final episode I felt like I was sitting in the audience watching a high-school play and don't even get me started on Kenji, he has to be the worst pantomime villain I've ever had the misfortune to witness! Bad acting, beyond dreadful styling and laughable storyline.
I won't remember this drama next week. I'll never re-watch it. Sadly, another shit show from the Thai factory production line, so it's a 3/10 from me, and that's only because of the earlier episodes.

I actually tried and dropped it. Couldn’t stand the character of the female lead. Have a look at my watchlist - there’s, I think, over 400 dramas that I’ve watched and rated 😃
I wonder how the same actors showed the anguish, the longing, the love and all those complex emotions so well…
I know, right. I think it is because in the past it is easy for us to accept the dire circumstances of how they fell in love, so, the romance really did need to be gentle and subtle. However, it really did need to up its game to make it believable in the present, and it’s sad to say, our leads simply couldn’t deliver.

Love your analogy of the "kissing a corpse". Hilarious. It really did feel that way didn't it? I don't think South Korea are per se bad kissers in all their recent dramas. I think it's about the coupling, direction and script. Honestly, I just wished they realised couples simply don't kiss like this unless you're a high-schooler, so inevitably you lose your audience, whom, although young, I'm presuming know how to deliver a basic kiss, which this sadly, sadly isn't.

Yes, Perfect Marriage Contract is indeed very clever and so beautifully and thoughtfully written. I was mesmerised. To be honest, the first two episodes made me want to drop it as the female lead was beyond weak. However, she really comes into her own to become one of my most loved heroines. Her revenge is seriously fierce. Of the scale fierce and her chemistry with the male lead is stunning to behold.

I hear you about her acting. She was better in the Dr Romantic Series as the 2nd FL, quite bitter and twisted in earlier series, but pulled it off well. Aw, you're so on my wavelength, 👍🏽😍. I'm currently watching The Story of Park Marriage Contract and My Demon, which I'm really enjoying. Also, just finished Perfect Marriage Contract, which I thought was excellent.
Also, check out... Tell Me That You Love Me. It's a Japanese series remade by South Korea. It's very, very different from these, but about a deaf man who falls in love with a struggling actress, formerly cabin crew. It's so silently powerful. Their chemistry is off-the-scale palpable and their screen time together just beautiful to behold.
I haven't checked out My Man Is A Cupid, but have read some reviews. What makes it good? I'm not really into fluff and go for a good story, great chemistry, sublime writing and absolutely no damn fish kisses! #Snigger.

🤣🤣Love this too much. #Hilarious. However, I find myself hoping you're joking, as we are talking about a fantasy, fiction drama. However, I do find myself liking and respectful of how deep your thought process went, but I have to admit, I just don't think they gave it the degree of thought, like you, it deserved.

Yeah, I'm so utterly done with the flashbacks.
I watched Shooting Stars and I found him more expressive than in this drama. However, he still follows the same traits, mannerisms and expressions of a moody, illusive, narcissistic man. I'll be sure to check him out on Forbidden Love, as I do enjoy his screen presence. Not to mention, he's got a bloody fine nose and features. #JustSaying #Snigger
Sadly, this is all so true. I guess it didn't help when he took over the body of that narcissistic idol actor.…
Damn, you're so right. I nearly dropped it on EP1 because I knew I couldn't watch 14 episodes of a narcissistic, childish, imbecile. However, I pushed through and absolutely adored Do Ha's character coming through. He mesmerised me in the earlier episodes simply by his eyes. The script they're delivering, as you so rightly say, simply don't match their actions or body language. I find it so jarring. That scene on the bed in the latest episode, where she's reading the book. Could you also visualise the director saying "take 32, smile more, be playful, look at her with longing and love, show that you want and desire her?" I so did and also visualised their uncomfortableness with all the cameras around. Such a shame.

… and thank you for your response.😍 The beginning was really fascinating. I honestly believe they ran out of steam and simply couldn't fill the episodes, so resorted to lazy writing, by way of fillers and flashbacks. I also find myself astounded how beautiful their chemistry was in the past and it's non-existent in the present. Honestly, I don't think they're actually comfortable acting together romantically in the present, where they needed to elevate it to show longing, love, passion and desire. They didn't need to do that in the past as it was an early love story. I feel the present is forced. I can't stop seeing them reading their script and the cameras all around them when they need to be romantic. However, I do feel their chemistry when just talking outside the romance, but they're obviously not comfortable together in romantic scenes.
I also don't regret watching it, but would never re-watch, which I think is a shame. #Sigh
