I couldn't agree more! It started out so well to have it flop so loudly near the end. Such a pity! It's as if…
It really is a pity, as they set us up for such a memorable drama. However, irrespective of the fact it is likely to end on a happy note. I'll honestly say, I'd never re-watch it. They had this fierce female firefighter in the beginning, who turned into an utterly unlikable, unintelligent idiot! Her decisions and thought processes just didn't make any sense to my brain. It was like we were viewing a completely different personality to the brave heroine we were introduced to.
Yes, the father. Don't even get me started on that scene!! Do Ha threw him down some steps and he couldn't get up, yet he took out a whole bloody police station! Make it make sense writers. Make it make sense. #Sigh. Such an opportunity lost.
I have so many mixed emotions about this drama. It started out so, so well. It was interesting. Captivating. Alluring. Engaging and highly entertaining. And then, I honestly shake my head at times as to exactly what the writer and director were thinking. It just changed. I feel for the latter episodes, I've been doing a ballet dancer's pirouette, spinning, spinning, spinning with no reprieve. We've gone around and around in circles with this drama. Much of the episodes have just been much of the same we viewed in previous weeks. Serious amounts of fillers. The constant flashbacks continue to do my head in. Do they think we're goldfish with one second memories?
The chemistry between our leads from the past was palpable, yet in the present, it is literally none existent. This latest episode, I could actually feel they were reading from a script. I felt very little love, zero passion, let alone desire and a modicum of longing. This feeling is further exacerbated by those dreadful, dreadful fish kissing scenes. They make for utterly awful viewing and especially as we're meant to believe this longing has lasted 1500 bloody years! The kisses totally throw me out of the drama and what the script is trying to portray and make me believe. So actors, if you're not prepared to kiss in a romance drama, simply have the balls to walk away - I'd respect you for this.
Lets see what our final episode brings. My positive spirit is feeling it will indeed be a happy ending.
Well, I managed to get to episode 17 and I just can’t waste any more of my time on this utterly tedious drama. It’s just so terribly written. The FL is a brilliant journalist, yet acts like a complete child when it comes to an adult relationship. Also, what’s with a grown arse adult running away all the time? She was in a previous relationship, yet acts like she hasn’t got a bloody clue about men. It’s all just so tedious and especially around the business side. It’s a 2.5/10 for me. Dropped.
Hi Jolly. I'm dropping this after #2. I was going to write a bit about why in my own comment, but you've said…
So hear you. We’re aligned in our thinking. It’s just too bloody preachy for me, with nothing really happening to complement and enhance the reasons for the preachiness. Blah, blah, blah comes to mind. I plan to give it one more episode and then will possibly drop.
Yup i thought the same about the setup. I think its going along the lines of him regaining sight with a miraculous…
Yep. I’m so with you on your thinking. I think they’re going to find a donor for him. Although, I think the drama would continue to be just as good with him partially sighted, but I think the writer wants him to finally see how handsome Mhok is.
I can so see what this drama is trying to achieve. I feel they're trying to make it introspective, so us as the viewers reflect on the leads thoughts and feelings. However, for some reason, it just doesn't land with me. I feel like I'm watching a Filipino drama, which is often drowning in philosophical analogies on life, which I personally find tiresome and preachy. I can see what Gu Jing's character is trying to bring to Liu Li, by way of breaking his writers block. However, the delivery is simply not engaging, it's just bland, repetitive and sadly boring.
This drama is hugely entertaining. Laughed out loud when Do Do Hee ‘s assistant said fuck you to Jung Koo Won’s assistant while trying to pronounce his name.
Our leads are a match made in heaven. Whoever casted them, did an excellent job. At times, to me, they look like they could be brother and sister. Their chemistry is on-point, as is their hilarious banter. Love how the writer has made Jung Koo Won’s dialogue so rude. Wardrobe department also scores top points, as does make-up.
This is an excellent, engaging, cleverly written and directed drama. Can’t wait for tomorrow. Bring it on!
This is such a thoughtfully written and directed drama. The pacing is delightful in the narration of Mhok and Day's relationship. This is the kind of slow pace I really like. It makes sense to my brain. I think the writing is clever to include August at this stage. I think it will help Day to realise that August was a bygone crush and Mhok is where his heart truly lies. I believe the drama is setting us up to have Day regain his eyesight. #JustSaying.
I so hear you. That definitely wouldn't sit well with any family. However, I think, especially as her father was a renowned General, he would absolutely understand that his enemies would always come for him and would perhaps be happy that his daughter had been saved by his enemy and treated so well. If watching from above, I think as a General / father, he could understand how his daughter came to love him.

Hey Lady of the Moon. Unfortunately, @allly not allie has decided to block me, so I thought I'd post my final comment to her under you - hope you don't mind.
I love this post. Says a lot to me. It says a lot to me about you. If you remember, @apple pie and dramas went so far as to mention 'debauchery' and 'promiscuity' from a simple post by me about a fish kiss. That's deep, that's seriously deep, don't you think?
I'm not the one being childish. In fact, quite the opposite. What I'm doing is using humour, to try to make you realise how ridiculous and misplaced your anger is on a forum to critique dramas. Currently, there are so many things in the world to get so angry and sad about. Why get angry about a post about a bloody fish kiss? Honestly, I'm shaking my head right now in disbelief.
It's unfortunate you felt the need to block me. Again says a lot. However, it's not something I'd ever lose sleep over, as my spirit is positive as is my energy for life. if you do feel the need to return to me. Come at me, I'm ready and waiting.

I'll just reiterate my previous comment to @ally not allie, which I hope you'll take a moment to digest and possibly think about. This is a forum to critique dramas, positive or negative. FACT. What it isn't is a fanbase forum. You'll find other places for that. As a critique forum, what you should be doing, as a decent human being, is respecting the comments of others, irrespective of whether they align with your own thoughts. FACT.

Fellow critic. Your anger is hilarious! Have a word with yourself. Have a serious word! It's utterly ridiculous and a waste of your energy. How can you get so riled up and annoyed about a simple comment about a kiss? I find myself astounded, but continue to laugh out loud. Have you perhaps forgotten that this is a forum to give critique about a drama, positive or negative? What it isn't is a fanbase forum.

OMG! Loved this comment.🙏🏾You’re utterly hilarious! Thanks so much for making my day and hugely enforcing the fact that 1) I don’t take myself seriously. 2) Know how to have a bloody good laugh. 3) Realise this is just a drama. Which I have to say on the whole I’m really enjoying - just not the shit kisses. Guess what? It’s not real. Did you perhaps forget it’s a fantasy drama? Laughter is seriously good for the soul. Taking the piss out of yourself is seriously good for the soul. Be well fellow critic. 😁
