Thanks for your response. I suppose my idea of sexy and being able to showcase that you find your acting partner sexy, while simulating that as actors to viewers watching is totally different. However, I do respect your views. I believe sex scenes should be believable to the viewers. I don't in any way find their execution of the sex scenes in any way believable. And, that's why I enjoy this forum so much, as I find different perceptions extremely interesting, irrespective if they correlate with my own.
Unsexy to you maybe. I know for a fact there are more than enough people out there who like what they see (myself…
And... I'm really glad both you and others are enjoying what you see. This critique forum would be mighty boring if we all thought the same. However, I myself, find their depiction and delivery of the sex scenes, irrespective of kink or sexual desires, laughable and badly delivered. I'm all for exploring sex in all its forms, but I do think their exploration is badly acted and badly delivered. I'm more invested in Nont's story.

Simply because the drama was billed as being about the sex industry, illegal pornography, online hook-ups, sex-love-revenge, exposing the darker side to humans. Do you not think having sex is sexy? I feel incredibly sexy while having sex, as it not only turns me on, but also my partner - to me it is intrinsic to enjoying sex. Do you think sex workers would get work and indeed be paid if their client's didn't find them sexy? I don't. My point is the series is based on sex, and as such, should at the very least look sexual, irrespective of your kinks or desires. These boys do not portray this in the slightest, quite the opposite. They're simply going through some ridiculous body motions, which do not, for me anyway, translate to sex scenes. It's comical to watch and badly acted.
How is it possible to make a drama with its core focus about sex, totally and utterly unsexy? That really is a feat, even taking it to the point they can’t even kiss! Incredible stuff Director. Incredible.
Gosh! This started out well and has now become immensely tiresome and boring. I thought I was here to watch a BL, however, I find myself subjected to week-after-week of volleyball and Jiu-jitsu. #Groan

Secret Garden had me in stitches. I loved their dynamic and how badass the FL was. Mr Queen, again, hilarious. I laughed so hard. What a brilliant FL!? There wasn’t a moment I didn’t believe there was a man in her body.
Alchemy of Souls is a bit like how I felt about Mr Queen. I know I should watch, but I never quite seem to be in the mood.
Otto sounds interesting- will definitely check out. Thank you 🙏🏾

Yes, Secret Garden I’ve watched many times, it was one of my first K-dramas. I also recently got around to watching, by way of forcing myself, Mr. Queen, due to the rave reviews. Enjoyed it immensely. What is AOS? Thanks for the recommendations 🙏🏾
Agree totally on the back and forth. It is getting seriously tiresome and I hate to see a grown arse woman behave like an emotional retard. #Sigh
I have huge respect for Punnasak Sukee as an iconic screenwriter and Director of Thai Modern Theatre. I also respect what he is trying to do, by elevating the standards of Thai BL with the introduction of theatre with cinematic elements. No easy feat. Let's be honest, the Thai BL world needs all the help it can get at this stage, to get it off its endless factory production line and back into producing quality over quantity.
However, just like his previous work, 180 Degrees Longitude Passes through Us, I find the dialogue between characters too long, too embellished, too unbelievable for the environments they're in. I honestly felt like I was sitting in a theatre watching this, which I absolutely know is the point, but I didn't come here to sit in a theatre, I came here to watch a cinematic drama, which is perhaps why I found this first episode jarring. These thoughts were also exacerbated by Sun's dialogue and acting. It was pure over-the-top theatre. Again, perfect for the stage, but I'm invested in watching a screen drama.
Like I said, huge respect. I'm just not sure his style of writing and directing for the BL audience is for me. However, I do find myself intrigued to see how the drama unfolds, once realisation and maturity hit Sun smack bang between the eyes, as to the immeasurable damage and pain he's caused Rain, whom I don't believe he'll ever get back. When will he have his epiphany moment and how will he go about rectifying it, as I'm sure he will? A lesson in life me thinks!
I've surprised myself. I'm actually really enjoying this drama. Fantasy, spirit possession, reincarnation are not genres I naturally navigate towards. However, I do enjoy love / hate relationships and strong leads who are invested in delivering their characters to the fullest.
I especially like the complexity of the script, in terms of the past dialogues between Do Ha and Han Ri Ta. I find the writing clever, thoughtful and teeming with angst. I can feel the momentous battle going on in Han Ri Ta's head and the inexplicable draw to her Do Ha has. Clever stuff.
Contrary to what others have said in the comments. I think Kim Young Dae is really excellent in this role. I nearly dropped this series half way through EP1 , as I couldn't bear the childish, needy, clingy depiction of Han Jon Oh and then suddenly he became the spirit. Damn, that takes some serious diversity in acting range, to move from a hyper, annoying, feckless puppy to a cold, calculating, driven man out for revenge. I find myself fixated by the intensity in his eyes when in the present. He's definitely a man torn between his actual mission and what his heart truly desires.
I'll admit, I do find the characterisation of Kang Young Hwa annoying at times, however, I do understand her reactions, as it is a mighty head fuck! But, she's been living with these dreams for bloody years. Surely, the writer should have factored in some element of relief at finally knowing the truth?! In contrast, I find myself chuckling at how easily the Manager accepted it all - he's hilarious!
What a surprise this series had turned out to be. Respect to Meen and Ping, who have honed their acting skills from the travesty that was Ai Long Nhai. Lovely to see. Especially liked the opening with Tew telling his truth to Guy. Ready for the inevitable angst of Tew trying to leave the Mob. That shit won’t be easy. Here for it.
The best part for me was the intro. Great start to the episode. Alas, the acting is poor, stiff comes to mind and a lot stiffer than their cocks! As to the flow of the sex scenes, well, they're just not sexy as they have very little to do with the storytelling and appear too randomly and out of place. However, I did find myself laughing out loud every time, and not for the right reasons. The Zouey 'supposed' sex scenes were beyond cringe. I'm left feeling he's a giver, not a taker. Poor dear, just wants to wait for his one true love! Agh! Bless him! I think he may have stumbled onto the set of the wrong drama.
Contrary to what other have said, I see a plot. The plot to me is the disappearance of Nont, as to why, and whether he is still alive and how our Gigolo's plan to scheme shedloads of cash out of our naive, little rich boys - who, at this juncture, appear to be falling head over heels in love. Silly fools.
One thing I must say. Damn, their wardrobes are off-the-scale dreadful! I'd go as far as saying the worst I've ever seen in an Asian drama. The rich boys look beyond cheap and poor and our Gigolo's look like they've time travelled from the early 80's. Utterly dreadful and incredibly jarring.
I'm interested to see what EP2 brings to the party as I need a good laugh.
