Totally agree with you and especially as an interior designer. I’ve had clients who are interior designers and they are either extremely classic/tailored in their style or flamboyant.
Perhaps they thought it wouldn't make sense to dress him up, ninety-nine per cent of the female viewers are in…
You see, I don't think he needs to explain his confidence. He is already a confident man, who is totally comfortable in his skin. Clothes can give you confidence, but that's not their true purpose. What clothes do, is simply to illustrate your personality and give a sense of who you are to the onlooker.
The costume department has jarred me simply because, in my opinion, the clothes they've chosen for him not in any way suit his personality and especially as a Chaebol. To me, they've dressed him like a cheap salesman.
The FL would shine to me, irrespective of how the male dressed. She's owning it with her own personality and character. I just think they got his wardrobe so spectacularly wrong in this drama.

I'll happily make that up to 100% as his voice and onscreen presence is seriously off the scale:-) However, to his wardrobe, I disagree with you here. He does have a quiet confidence, but the clothes in no way suit his character, personality or body type. This is not a man, by way of character, who would choose such a wardrobe. He'd be stylish. It's totally off and massively jarring for me. Navy blue, black, white shirts, skinny jeans, fitted jumpers. Oversized wool coats. Chunky scarfs. Leather biker jackets. Fitted suits. Nothing baggy with far too many boring beiges which they've chosen for him.
This drama is on another level of excellent. Excellent casting. Excellent writing. Excellent chemistry between our two leads. The pain, the angst, the trauma Han Yi Joo feels from the past and present, I absolutely get and feel. Great acting. She owns and rocks this role. I'm also so very glad Sung Hoon finally picked a great script which showcases his excellent acting skills. He's made for this role and is owning it. Damn, he has his woman's back. Right by her side every step of the way.
The only negative I have with this drama is the wardrobe for Sung Hoon - it's just terrible. How can you hide such an excellent physique in such awful, awful, colourless, baggy clothing. Whomever chose his wardrobe, should think about a career change. The only time I've seen him look good was in his wedding suit. Additionally, why does South Korea feel it necessary to put such strong white filters on the faces of their actors? It's jarring for us as viewers, as their faces look ghost like and the eyebrows appear unreal. Just weird. Very weird indeed.
This started out so well, ruined in the middle by the stupid misunderstanding trope and concluded with a very fluffy finale. Excellent kisses though, so 5/10.
It's a wonder they haven't outlawed stairs! Every show, the cute one trips & falls down the last three steps just…
Oh, I so hear you on both your comments. I honestly don’t think anyone on the planet has ever fallen and landed on someone’s lips! Oh, I think they’re not going to be letting this go anytime soon. Hilarious!
Ping is an adorable klutz IRL. I don't know if he plays it up but I've seen videos where he's tripping over his…
Haha! Funny about Ping being clumsy. Thanks for the heads-up. I just find it weird, the whole slip, trip, fall, catch thing… and it’s in nearly every ‘averagely’ written drama, whether gay or straight. It just spanks of seriously lazy, uncreative, writing to me.
There’s nothing particularly good about the writing of this script. However, it’s a damn sight better than Ai Long Nhai, which was beyond dreadful. Meen and Ping’s acting has greatly improved and I’m lightly engaged so far, but find myself asking, “why can’t Asian people stand on their feet?” After all, they were designed for that very reason. I don’t know any other culture that portrays people falling over / tripping up constantly as a form of romance. It’s bizarrely hilarious.
I adored Yamato's personality and especially the utter and believable angst he felt at the hands of his 'unrequited' love for Kakeru in the earlier episodes. However, I'm not a fan of over-acting and the whole rabbit caught in the headlights way of acting many Japanese writers and directors choose to showcase a personality. I find it childish, unrealistic and jarring viewing, which is why I didn't always like the portrayal of Kakeru's personality.
All-in-all, I much preferred the earlier episodes which focused more on Yamato's feelings and believable stress. I also don't like constant, stupid, misunderstandings, which I found this drama had aplenty, which could have been easily resolved. Would I watch it again? I don't think so, but it's a solid 6,5 /10 for me.
A nice, refreshing change by way of script, to the usual, especially Thai BL dramas out there. Good chemistry and acting between first and second leads. As with all Taiwanese BLs, the re-watch value is always extremely high. It's a 7.5/10 for me.
The problem with this drama was the writing and casting. Throughout, the writing felt like it was being done by a 16-year old, female Wattpad writer who had zero life experiences or indeed experience of gay culture, gay boys and their lives.
What transpired, was beyond childish writing, which would have worked for some, not me, if they hadn't then cast two extremely talented actors. Perth and Chimon were totally wrong for such a childish, immature script. I'd go as far as saying it totally disrespected their acting talents, expertise and abilities. The fact that Chimon was clearly uncomfortable playing a romantic lead with a man was obvious for all to see and made for uncomfortable viewing. They literally had zero, on-screen, romantic chemistry. That final bath scene with Chimon clothed was once again beyond childish and cringeworthy viewing. Don't even get me started on the fact that he absolutely refuses to open his mouth when kissing, quite the opposite, he closes his jaw tightly so as not to reciprocate. Jeez, are you for real!?
It's a 2.5/10 for me and no, I'll never re-watch or indeed remember this after a week.
It's out on KissKh without subs. Now, while I usually don't watch shows raw, I did watch the opening 5 min. And…
Ha. I did exactly the same Maggi and like you watched for 5-minutes, admiring him in that turtleneck, until frustration knocked and my door telling me to wait for the subs. #Snigger
Beautifully touching episode and heart-wrenching re-union, sensually done. From the preview of last week, I really thought it would be the grandpa standing at the door of room 703, so glad to see it wasn't, as I was expecting them to torture us further until said reunion happened.
Hopefully, we'll now have two entire final episodes of our lovers - from first and second leads, making up for lost time and showcasing their lives together.
How very bizarre. I watched 4 episodes of this drama on Kisskh.co this week, and now they've deleted them down to 2. And, before anyone plans to come at me, I do have a VIP subscription to GagaOOlala, plus others. However, loved the first episode so much so naturally wanted to see more. It's good. Damn good.
Loved this. Quirky, funny and a very original and unique script. Shin Hye Sun absolutely owned, rocked and delivered this script. There was never a time that I didn't believe there was a man inside her body. Great acting.
Another beautifully unique, wonderfully written and directed drama from the Japanese. Unlike Thai writers, we always get something new, fresh and completely unexpected from the Japanese. I love them for this. Stories are never black and white with Japanese writers. They always take your brain on a magical mystery ride, which ultimately ends up blowing your mind; and without a lazy trope in sight. They wouldn't entertain lazy writing, because it simply does not form part of their DNA. They're too proud of their craft and too true to their culture and themselves to deliver up a shit script.
I adored how the writer portrayed the relationship between Mizuki and Yoh, it was deep, complex and mesmerising to watch - so very unique. Contrary to other reviews, I in no way found it toxic, simply different and for me, that's what makes Japanese dramas so very, very unique in not only their delivery, but also their thought process.
It's a 9/10 for me and I'll definitely be re-watching.
On a final note, I have to say, Mashiko Atsuki is one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen. I was literally mesmerised by his beauty throughout every episode - damn, those lips, those lips, eyes and cheekbones. An utterly stunning man to be true.
I finally understood from the last episode why Mizuki is literally, in my eyes anyway, obsessed with Yoh and beyond…
Yes, at times I do wish they had better moderators, but not at the detriment of people having a voice, which I think is a fine line.
I know the premise of Dangerous Romance was good, the actors are too, but the script is truly diabolical, unrealistic and childish and has clearly been written for fans. When will these writers learn!! Oh well, onwards and upwards. See you on the other side. Lovely chatting with you 😍

I still read the Dangerous Romance page, simply because I'm continuing to watch the drama and refuse to lose my voice to the childish, delusional fan base who have descended on it.
It blows my mind that they have no concept of how MDL works as a forum to review and critique dramas and films. They honestly think MDL is yet another fan page for them to show undying love to their idols. It's not. So delusional and in some cases, they're utterly vicious.
I did post a comment 4-days ago, which surprisingly got 29 likes. However, I think it was because I spoke mostly about how terrible the script was, how good the actors where delivering such a travesty, but was honest about how childish and unrealistic it really was with two men falling in love, to the point of boredom.
