Yeah you're right, but not only this, many dramas like Immortality, Sha Po Lang etc which were adapted from BL novels are shelved even though they're just bromance.
One thing is, this drama was shot for 60 eps. And they either need to cut down scenes or make it Season 1 and 2. Another thing is the same-sex adaptation issue. This drama got caught right inbetween the change in the board. There's no exact reason lol. It just feels like nobody is trying to get it out of the shelf. It was shot back in 2020.

Rewatching some episodes while I wait for the new ones, and it just hit me that they didn’t really explain why…
I remember in the drama, they kept mentioning the days... Like before their wedding Her aunt and uncle would say he's been here for 2 days, he's been here for a week and since he was here for a week they arranged that fake marriage. Also after their marriage Changyu kept saying it's been a day since we got married, it's just 2 days.... And I think on the 14th or 15th day he left. So the whole span of his stay would've been 1 month...

Actually HDY was my first drama of Cheng Lei. I was planning to watch LOTFG initially but it was airing parallel to The Immortal Ascension I guess. So I didn't watch it at that time. Later, I watched other dramas that eventually I didn't watch it... Sadddd

Also, WDBTD has similar kinda ending with HDY?... Both are novel transmigration stories so similar ending. But you'll get longer modern world scenes lol than HDY?.
