Since 2021 May or so, they got new rules that No drama can exceed 40eps. If you see, dramas earlier than 2021 had 50+ or 60+ eps.
They reduced it and it made the dramas which were about to get their licences halt and forever shelved.
So ever since the new rules in 2021 came, the dramas which were shot had alot of scenes and cut their scenes to fit 40eps max. During the review process they'll be cut down to match their regulation standards.

Yeah they got their feelings for each other very early but they take time to confirm their feelings. Dan er actually knows he loves her very early but Wanyin takes alot of time. By the time she figures it out she'll make moves on him but he'll reject because he thinks he'll put her in danger. Not open rejection but his body gets scared to respond to her.
Also many things will be happening until ep 20 that it will keep them busy to get together. But don't worry they never get breakup or misunderstandings.

what are you watching currently then? Actually I started with LSIT1970s for Chen Feiyu, watched 1st ep, liked it but the genre is not my cup of tea so I put it on hold. How's it going so far?? Also GTG I heard bad reviews from people so not planning to watch it. How are the other 3? are you watching them?

To your 2nd question, They actually get together around 22 or 23 I forgot the exact episode. To your 3rd question, they are together since 1st ep that only kiss wouldn't be there until they get together. Except that you can see them cuddling all the time. To your 4th question, yes since the first ep 20 or so minutes, they will start becoming cuddly and loving.
In my opinion, don't skip the drama. The thing you're worrying is a part of ML's character build. He's like the present because he went through things in the past. So, just watch it and sympathize with him.

I've completed Unveil Jadewind. if you love mystery and crime dramas you'll like it. I'd recommend you to watch it but the leads have really slow burn but a smooth relationship until they get together lol
