I presume "normal" would have been a more reserved/distant/hierarchical interaction. Him using hoobae could have been "playboyish" behavior (a prince can have access to any woman, akin to the olden days), but him kind of pushing her to that makes me think he wants her to recall something, establish a "closer" relationship than what would be normal (when I think of the historical dramas the difference between noble and common folk seemed insurmountable, the royal family being that much higher/unreachable. In PC it doesn't seem that stark but still there), emphasizing "for YOU I would be lenient.../YOU (and not the others I rejected) have my attention" Others meaning other people who seemed important and wanted an audience in ep 1 and "you" in your other roles (with which you otherwise gain attention/are important/puff your self esteem)... Hoobae seems strangely intimate to me.

I think he fell for her before the time of the drama starting. He was too happy to see her in the restricted area of the palace (did you also see a faint smile?), why would he make such a point of addressing her as hoobae flirtatiously and granting her an audience when she uses that moniker?

I think she trusts him enough because of the same color she saw in her dad (presumably no-one else, as she was totally astonished by that). If I had some sensory way of instantly, reliably evaluating someone's character to be of the same trustworthiness & quality as my dad (whom she trusted/loved 100% before the shift), I'd let my guard down way quicker than normal, too. Plus, in and prior to that shocking kidnapping situation she was afraid of her dad and saw it as her (best/only?) chance to break free.

I now finished the drama and I still don't get it. Can you tell me the reason?

That is indeed strange. But maybe she wanted the layover (e.g. because of having a break in between instead of a very long flight). The flight could have been booked months ago, where no-one could have foreseen one of the most important transit airports worldwide to be shut down...

I just meant to further illustrate my perspective, why I replied that to emmasdramas3. It's been a while since I watched the drama, but as far as I remember, the FL seemed pretty mature, similar to many young people in my country. Of course in South Korea there are different societal norms (pertaining interpersonal relationships: hierarchy, age, parent-child, teacher-student, colleague etc.) If I remember correctly, nothing happened between the main characters back in school days, no feelings were expressed/acted upon, everything was in the realm of plausible deniability. If my memory serves me right, there was no abuse (from the MLs side) or manipulation (from the FLs side) of authority. (the SFL was immaturely confessing & whining, straining the student-teacher relationship)
