Is it really worth to watch?trying to watch it until the switch faces part at episode 2 and i drop it
I can't speak or read Chinese but I still watch this. It's funny and has romance and even for me it includes many scenes I can enjoy without needing to understand what they say. I would give it another try. Edit: It's now completely english subbed.
The subject you write about is quite interesting but I kind of cringe if you state Twilight as the "good example" on how to portray vampires. I saw the first movie and read the second volume of Twilight and couldn't get over the hilarious fact that Meyer's vampires "sparkle". This is utter nonsense in my opinion and I can't take her way of describing them seriously. I have read several novels before her work with vampires and never found a similar description as the one she used. To me her vampires seemed too childish. But everyone has the right to have a different opinion so I don't blame anyone who loves Twilight. It's just not my cup of tea. I think that Asian countries simply have their own folklore, myths and supernatural creatures. If I just take Japan, it has tons of spirits, yokai (demons) and more. Really, there's a yokai for everything in Japan. Even for the toilet. Many of them are famous and hyped in Japan so you will find lots of manga and anime about yokai. That's why I could imagine that they simply don't have interest in a creature with slavic origins. Because that's where historian found some of the first lore of so called "undead". Originally it referred to people who died and came back to harm the living. Many characteristics such as blood sucking and being vulnerable to sun were added later. Vampires are based on the fear of people living a few hundred years ago, that the dead return from their graves, a simple superstition that has European background while other creatures have asian background.
