From the accidental kiss to the stares and touches it screamed romance. They were at the beginning of everything so you cant expect them do a heavy make out session after „knowing „ each other for one day.
Not every movie is supposed to have fleshed out romance where it goes from meeting each other to marriage. They were slowly getting closer while tian was very vulnerable.
I‘m the first to hate movies and tv shows that are obviously queer baiting to gain attention. But this isnt one of them at all and anyone who has watched more than 5 movies before should be able to see that imo.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but there is no way anyone watched this and thought its queer baiting.

I love how hirukawa doesnt have the typical bad boy personality. He is almost golden retriever like instead of the idgaf ice prince.

Then I guess that makes you the 10th type of complainer.

I would mark especially this comment as a spoiler since that is really important to the plot imo.

The man he went to and hugged was the same man that „raised“ him until he graduated high school.
I think the point was that he saw him as his real father all along and that looking for his biological father/sperm donor wasn’t important and just a way for him to cope with everything. Because if you pay attention every time he was unwell mentally it wasn’t because he didnt know who his sperm donor was but because he felt abandoned by his father.
This is how I interpreted it so if anyone sees that differently pls correct me.

As you said its subjective. The ml created that impact for me and not for you and you have every right to share that. The comment section should be used for every type of respectful opinion.
But I have to agree on the gangster part. I‘ve noticed that kdramas do that sometimes where they bring in some type of gangsters or bullies and randomly drop that storyline in the middle. I had to think of weak hero for example.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but personally I started bawling when he was hugging his dad especially when he said dad for the first time in a soft tone.

While he is a very flawed character I think you may be able to forgive him a little bit at the end.

This episode was the first time I watched the cut version. I usually watch the uncut version but I couldnt find it and didnt have time today so I watched the shorter version on youtube.
But I had the same opinion for multiple episodes now.

But even with this new information I personally think hill and easters story is really boring and its dragging out unnecessarily even if they’re just staying true to the novel.

I thought every couple was gonna get 4 episodes and then obviously there was gonna be some overlapping with the stories but damn they are really milking hill and easters story.
Their story is dragging out so much and its just really boring imo.
And I think I‘ll be married before johan and north get together.

Ah ok. The show was realistic but still I think that may be the only thing I didnt like even if they just followed the book.
Sucks that being married/growing up means you wont be there for someone you considered your best friend when they try to take their own life or when their mother passes away.
Since it only showed snippets of his life over the span of like 10 years I‘m sure they had more contact tho.
But yeah just makes this show even more realistic.

I wish miae appeared more. I kinda understand that the movie version is more her pov and this drama youngs but still she wasnt present/shown for so many crucial moments like when he overdosed or at his mothers funeral.
Maybe saw the wrong promo stuff (where their friendship was emphasized) but I think I would’ve loved if they had a stronger friendship.

I give up on getting any kind of progression on tattoo and arans (relation)ship.
They‘re going to continue teasing the audience with seconds of their moments until the last episode and then make them date out of nowhere.
Their characters could’ve actually been a really nice supporting couple with an actual storyline that doesn’t just exist for the main characters.

I‘m not gonna lie the back and forth between different characters and time lines in episode 7 had me a little confused at times. I had to go read comments to make sure I understood everything correctly. They could’ve done that part better imo.
Also hyeonho is really good looking 👀
