What a frustrating journey of a show this was. Don’t get me wrong, I understand a slow burn is meant to have…
You said it perfectly. I dont think anyone watched this with the expectation that they were going to kiss but it all just felt stale. Like they wanted to have the least possible backlash for making a drama about gay leads so they made it as tame as possible and made them side characters. The drama itself is cute but it just feels like so much wasted potential. Ahn jiho and lee sangjun are great actors and have great chemistry but it got wasted on a poorly executed script.
Chanyoung you selfish little prick. First you complain and berate heesu in front of the whole school for keeping secrets from you and make it about yourself that he is very obviously struggling internally. And then you complain and make it about yourself when he does tell you (part of) why he hasnt been himself. Bro what do you want?
She got bullied at school because everyone knows her father is a gangster working in the gang with the ML. He…
I watched this when it came out so its been a while but I‘ll try to answer some of your questions the best plus some opinions.
-Undercover cops cannot share that they’re undercover to anyone especially to the ones around them. They have to really live the role they’re in to be able to do their job and gain access to information. And that takes many years sometimes. -I think they never revealed exactly how long he was in the gang for. But it was long enough for him and moojin to become extremely close. -Word gets around especially in high school and it didnt seem like her father was trying to be secretive about the whole gang thing. And while youre right about the bullying part I think we have to use some kdrama logic here because the bullying did play a part for the plot. -I find your last question really interesting. I would never even think about questioning if their father daughter relationship is enough of a reason. I cannot think of a bond more special and complex than the one between parents and their children. Sure not everyone is gonna go full on cold blooded revenge but in this case him „just“ being her father is enough.
You can leave reviews from episode 1 I think, or maybe episode 2.
Ohhhh wait I‘m kinda stupid. It does say how many episodes they‘ve watched etc. I couldn’t see the the reviews before today so I thought you could only leave official reviews after its done airing.
Why does this have reviews when the last episode hasn’t aired yet? I was so confused for a second. Or can you just automatically leave a review when it’s the day the last episode comes out?
I love a slow burn but this has me screaming at my screen at times. Like lets just get it over with. And I honestly dont wanna be a chayeong hater as well but the tennis plot is so uninteresting and unnecessary and doesnt add anything to the plot. I enjoy jiyus singing plotline a lot more than his tennis one.
I am thinking of watching it for a long time but still couldn’t come up the courage after the trauma "Love in…
It’s nothing like love in the big city. The only similarity is that both are korean. This is a very innocent high school story. I think think its a very sweet story about secret crushes, friendship and everything else teenagers go through plus the lgbt aspect (I just finished ep 7). Some people arent fond of the straight couple but I dont think its that bad and you can just skip their scenes if they bother you. But to answer you question: it is a bl but maybe not in the traditional sense and the leads have chemistry but their storyline takes time to develop.
What johnny did was obviously absolutely disgusting, no matter how „far“ he actually went. And I hope that storyline isnt executed lightly. Butttt besides that, the actor plays such a good antagonist. Its like he was made for it.
The last scene had me talking to the non existent audience in my room god damn Also I wanna thank all the hardworking bees for making that scene possible
That is their house slippers people where ( just like am doing rn lol) .
No really there are so many examples. When yifan checks out the apartment for the first time in ep 2, when she comes home in the middle of ep 5 or when she gets home in ep 6. Also she is still wearing her boots after putting away the groceries in ep 9 cause you can hear them as well (and sanghan is wearing his while mopping the floor). And yes I looked at all those scenes again like some crazy person cause I wanted to make sure I saw it correctly. But every time they enter the house while the scene continues they dont change their shoes. This is literally so unimportant but its just sth I noticed lol

No they have actually worn their outside shoes inside multiple times now and I‘m only on episode 9. I‘ve been paying attention cause at first I was like no way but then I compared or just looked at the shoes and they had either worn them outside in the scene before or they were clearly not house slippers.
Edit: I lowkey wanna clarify myself. There are multiple scenes where yifan enters her room with her outside shoes on or they enter the house and just dont take them off while doing something in the kitchen or living room. Thats just what my eyes tell me. I know that they wear slippers at some point while at home. But my whole point is that they still keep their shoes on after the entrance area where theyre normally taken off.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk about a useless detail.
Lets agree to disagree but 18+ does and should not equal the romantization of sexual harassment to me. I know that’s probably not exactly what you meant but sth having adult content doesnt mean it shouldnt be portrayed in a responsible way. Again I‘m not saying those scenes shouldnt exist. For me its about how its being portrayed and I just wish for that to change.
And to end my little rant I just wanna say I know this is not bad at all compared to other things but I think pointing out „small“ things is still important.
Nope I can have an opinion. I personally find it weird to tell others that you should just take in media without a second thought. And btw just to clarify: my point isnt that scenes like that shouldnt exist. I said that things like that (and the sex one) shouldnt be romanticized. Because sexual harassment is still romanticized so much (especially) in bls so its important to talk about the importance of consent imo.
I will continue to watch this because I enjoyed it for the most part but I can still criticize sth I enjoy. And if I see sth that I would like to share my thoughts on again I will do that in the comment section of this website made to share opinions.

And I dont even like carrots that much
