and as she as she started showing that she is a viable member of the team, he trusted her with assignments and is helping her grow. I run a team at work and I don’t have time to babysit sometimes and I would be hella upset if I got assigned someone who looks way too green behind the ears. he was just being real when he called her out for looking too soft to deal with pushy clients

right? like real dudes that exist irl. not necessarily a red flag like everyone is making him out to be. my hubby is the same yet he is the man who fought traffic to pick me up from my kpop concert even though he thinks it’s all a little crazy 🤣most guys I know don’t wax poetry but they are there for you when it matters and then some

I don’t know if I have watched some questionable dramas with legit red flag MLs or if cdrama fans have been spoiled by the number of green flags lately (or the overly green FIELDS like Sang Yan from First Frost where FL runs laps around ML without showing a true bit of reciprocation while ML laps at her like a begging puppy)… 😮‍💨 I digress… I actually don’t see ML as a red flag. this is my opinion. He has flaws and the actor even pointed out that he worked hard to not display a domineering CEO type but an real character with complex personality that has flaws. Yes, he is sharp tongued and doesn’t sugar coat his words. He is changing though. SFL notes how he is Lian Nian who doesn’t apologize, yet we are seeing him now apologizing to FL.

We are also seeing FL put her foot down. Although she annoyingly does by silent treatment or distancing herself, we get that she is younger and also learning how to make herself be heard by properly expressing herself. They are both growing as individuals and together as a couple. I appreciate that balance that they are changing for each other for the better.

To suggest that ML is red flag in all this seems odd to me. dude has flaws and every character in drama knows it. he knows it. he is changing though and has reflected how he is becoming the person he hates most - his father.

I also think FL is growing and becoming a boss girl of her own right. She knows how to twist him around her fingers with her puppy eyes from getting him to help her friend to having him take care of the dog he doesn’t want. I actually like this relationship, minus the fact that they need to learn how to speak what’s on their mind and be more open with each other.

I went from watching a dramawith the best communication with one with the worst communication 😂 🤣so I am just consistently 🤦🏻‍♀️ still enjoying the angst

Mei Si and Grandpa Snake…one of the greatest pure bromances in a cdrama land. who would have guessed? 😂 dude can’t even ascend because of his ties to him 🥹

He didn’t need to kill anyone. He could have locked them up. It’s not like letting them go was going to bring peace because their people were hell bent on revenge, at least at the hands of our main baddie. IDK. It all felt weak. ML was a bunch of talk and chasing tail around in circles. FL ends the major conflict because he does exactly what FL said she would fight for (his little decree) and she’s the one who talks her people down. It all felt like a lot of buildup for nothing. From the politics to their relationship. meh.

wdym this little simp who is an emperor of a whole dang nation goes out to find the girl again just so they can ride in the desert. we are supposed to be satisfied with just that after all this investment.

they created more problems towards the ends rather working towards resolution. it was this nonsensical revenge drama where people were plotting without much actually happening and you think there will be some payoff at the end. instead they save all the so-called plot twists for the end but they throw some of the twists so far into the end of a super slow burn drama that you feel you wasted 32 eps worth of your life.

hold up. hold the 🤦🏻‍♀️up!!! he just let’s them walk out?? they try to end him. kill _____. but they are allowed to just walk out? even if their identity wasn’t the big bad guy…if a normal dude just kills someone important and threatens the king, they wouldn’t be allowed to just walk out. dude is such a useless simp and girl took advantage of it through and through. CZY. I really tried to like this for your sake? but this sucks so bad. I thought maybe I could at least give is a passing grade, but ep 30 just made me sad that I binged these last few eps…which o did not because I liked it but I just needed to be done with this ish. not being able to drop dramas is such a pain. I’m going to have to rewatch a really good drama to get this foul taste of a drama
out of my system.

part of my criticism is the script itself, but I don’t think the script called for dead fish as character breakdown for FL.

I think The Double just had a better storyline and balanced leads so it wasn’t as painful as this where she has flatlined with her dead eyes along with push-pull plot going in circles where the ML might as well talk to a wall and have it be more supportive.

Oop. I’ll look closely when I watch again tonight.

She was decent in Double but here…I’m trying to get through it but just not connecting largely due to her punchy line delivery and resting bish face (even when not resting). Yeah. Poor CZY got handed a weak character with subpar costume, set, editing, VFX/AI, cinematography. Did you watch Fated Hearts? Ugh. He finally shined again after Hidden Love. FL in that wa soo good as well.

She states that after Shazhou there is no He Du. Okay. So then he is such the emperor to you, right? How about treating him like one, you arrogant human being??

Maybe I just dislike ML’s character as well atp. He just feels like a side character and weak.
