I can’t believe he told the Moonlit Blossoms’ owner about FL real identity 🤦🏻♀️ that will def create trouble later. he seems a bit doomy and being stupid and obsessed always leads to danger 😬
ML is the Hidden Emperor, overseeing everything. He has his people everywhere, even in Jinciu. He is also ready…
Yes, that’s what a regent is - someone who temporarily oversees a monarchy until the next in succession can be selected. FL calls him that when she does the hand over face thing again at the end. And, yes again, he notes that if she does well handling the politics, she will be named empress , which is noted in one of my spoiler marked comments below. 😊
Too bad ML doesn't want to emperor. He would make an excellent ruler, but at least they show he is the regent for 3 years during the mourning period.
So...yeah. I obviously will miss this drama - if you can't tell from my spams here. The drama wasn't just good feels. It had legit characters and development - and not just the ML and FL. Well done! I did slightly get bored during the last 4-5 eps where there was just a lot of fighting. Not that the fighting wasn't good, but it wasn't as good as some of the other dramas I recently watched so I had to 2x it.
The emperor of Jinxiu oddly grew on me. I mean, dude is certified crazy and blamed all his trauma on his mother,…
I knew he would die, but I still felt sad when it actually happened. The princess saying how she once loved a man and then he disappeared and then someone loved her and he is now gone...it was such a heartbreaking thought. She drove me bonkers at the start of the drama, and her betrayal warranted karma biting her - she betrayed her whole country - and more importantly to me, her amazing brother!! ML loved her the most and wanted to protect her so badly, YET not only did she not listen to his multiple warnings and disregard his hard work to scheme to keep her close, SHE ACTUALLY HARMED HIM by sneaking her new hubby out of Susha!! She had to face the harshness of life and learn a lesson - and it had to be something as extreme as miscarrying and losing the one that loved her so that she could grow instantly and ML could give her some control over the politics.
The emperor of Jinxiu oddly grew on me. I mean, dude is certified crazy and blamed all his trauma on his mother, but nah, dude was just crazy. The relationship with the Susha princess was kind of twisted sweet though and some part of me could see him maybe changing...
Now, all the characters that were just trauma from start to finish. My gawd! The number of times someone blamed someone for killing a loved one WHEN it was the loved one's fault and the punishment was a DUH in that world. I rolled my eyes at most of their motivation. The only character where I could kind of see their reasoning is the Masked Man. Dude felt his family was slighted over and over again, and now even at such an old age his father is working in harsh environments while struggling with old battle scars. Ofc the main injury he blames the ML - even though our cutie as a child had no way of knowing, especially since he was told by an eunuch that his rescuer and his kid were okay.
I guess I also under SML's actions as he was abused by Jinxiu's emperor and used as a pawn (and poisoned) by the empress dowager. His betrayal of FL and his twisted belief that she would somehow still be better off with him was nuts though.
This drama had so many flawed characters dealing with trauma but ML showing us how trauma doesn't need to make you complete red flag mess. Sure, he was a killer god and had blood on his hands, but they were certified bad guys. ML wasn't greedy for power, even though he had a strong military and could have simply slashed all the crazies, he was smart to confirm all the details and then go in for his vengeance. He was loyal, caring and smart, which you can see in how much his soldiers and loved ones respected him. Even the enemy who disliked him, they were afraid of all his strengths and abilities.
I appreciated how FL didn't come off as immature or baby girl once the love angle came into play. They showed her as a general and phenomenal archer through and through - she always had her guard up and was ready to kick behind. She grew up in a dark and tragic environment so it made sense she wouldn't ever be all rainbows and butterflies. YET she was still the perfect amount of warmth towards ML and her friends. She is a true ride or die. Again, another character that shows how we can be more than the sum of our trauma.
I was also suspicious of Murong Yao mainly because whenever a male character pretends to be a useless guy whose…
Yup. his “I’m so not into politics and just want to chill with my women” had my spidey sense on alert. That foreshadow scene though where FL asks ML if he would be okay if his bestie betrayed him - I was, “HOLD ON A MIN!!! nuuuuuuu!”. Then the real physical clue for me was the eyes in that flashback scene where he was meeting with Xiajing Shi and FL overheard their convo 😆I was like, “oh grandma, what big eyes you have” 😍 but ofc the dead giveaway was him running to the dancer to “comfort” her after ML interrogated her.
A killer god who actually kills!!! Loved it too. Usually, its a killer god who's secretly not a killer god...…
but thanks to this legit killer god role, poor CZY had so much blood spat at his face 🫣😬power to him for keeping the intense stare down because I was over here wiping my face 🫥
just finished. 3 days of actual watching…couldn’t stop. 🥺it was good. right up there with Prisoner of Beauty and When Destiny Beings the Demon. So many things to say, but I’ll sleep now to collect my feels.
nurp. it’s nail biting as it is confirmed by someone else but they can’t get the info to ML so we sit and agonize until he finds out and then our heartbreaks for him even though we saw it coming for a couple of eps 😭 😭 😭
Sadly, his bestie is the baddie - yet another betrayal in his life 😭. I think you have passed the ep where ML interrogates the pavilion’s main dancer, right?
