Director Jiang ended up giving QingCheng private acting lessons on set. Diva was jealous but the director said he could not correct such a great actress and could only offer advice to beginners.š He also liked a post of QingChengās which I thought interesting. Chen Mian has returned to the high school boy admiring his princess cello player. That gala turned into a good moment for KaiXi. She was put in the spotlight and shined brilliantly. Too bad she canāt really play. For the first time in a very long while she had a romantic evening with her hubby. He is still scum, but the heart wants what the heart wants. KaiXi is happy so I have to cheer her on til he finally gets kicked to the curb. MuSun definitely took advantage of KaiXi, but he was gentlemanly enough to truly apologize to her and to offer support if she ever ventured out to start her own business. At least that ended on a positive note which I think was good for both of them.MuSun defends Man by declaring her interesting. For him, this is truly a high compliment. She intrigues him like no other woman has. Man did some research on his past with wife and they are definitely top tier social status. MuSun knows what she said about not stepping in his turf and picks her up to walk on his feet not the floor. They apologize to each other but when it comes to defining what they are as a coupleā¦he is a very smooth manipulator. Even the powers of the screen writer couldnāt help Man with this one. Here QingCheng was the voice of reason for Man. Their candid chat while she waited for d list part was good advice for Man. It gave her understanding of his point of view dividing work and home life. She recognized where she overstepped and that helped them converse later where she accepted her part of the blame. QingCheng benefited by just being able to chill out with a friend after a very long diva et al bully day. She also could fill in KaiXi about Man and MuSun. The friendship of these three is growing. I wish QingCheng had more input that we get to see because she is kept peripherally more often than part of a trio of friends.

The ādateā was awkward and Man goes home with him.š He is again thoughtful when he notices her fever. He is such a Jekyll and Hyde. When Chenās new business partner shows up on court his Hyde side shows up. He lets Chen know his wife works at his company and the commute must make things difficult for her. šItās not that I mind Chen getting thrown under the bus, he deserves it. But itās beyond annoying that he took advantage of KaiXiās naĆÆvetĆ© to accomplish it. Man and KaiXi are having a chat when hubby comes home enraged. He loses it with KaiXi and then storms out of the house saying she needs to stay away from Man since sheās MuSunās woman now. Man does not help things when she admonishes KaiXi in almost exact terms as Chen. This is one time she should have hugged her friend, heard her out, and then pointed out how MuSun took advantage of her to get to her husband. KaiXi pointed out that her relationship with MuSun was as real as her job which was a very valid point that hit home. Man leaves and heads over to MuSunās place and launches into him about taking advantage of her friend. She keeps pushing the point til he kicks her out. The lobby attendant and doorman finish the job of letting her know sheās not fit to be near the building. QingCheng is having a crap day because of the diva. She has been bullied to the point where nobody thinks she can act. Ms Diva changes her tune when her fave director shows up with Man on set. I wish the director would fire the one that really canāt act and give QingCheng her role. That would be some instant Karma. All three friends are at odds because of the manipulatorsā¦ms diva and MuSun. They undermine whoever they need to to move up the ladder. Chen is far worse. He has no appreciation for his wifeās kindness and multitasking skills. He is too busy thinking the grass is greener. The young doc also thinks even less of Man after seeing her and MuSunās PDA. Chen is ogling and envious and he is disgusted. I like that Man went to the set to check up on her friend and that KaiXi sent a sweet apology gift to cheer Man up. I really want somebody to put diva in her place but that probably wonāt get to happen.š

When Rin was in mope mode I didnāt sympathize. She did the breakup. Taiga stopped cooking fusion Korean dishes because he was sad his taste tester wasnāt around. He had to make the soup for event and his mentor pushed him to deliver some to Rin. Sheās trying to find what she wants to create and all she sees is a mess. Her senior spends time with her but realizes she will not see him more than family. He recognizes heās her safety net in Japan and she needs him to stay in that role. When he swapped the bags of food I wasnāt mad at him. Tbh I didnāt think Rin deserved it. At the class reunion, Taiga sees his classmates no longer compare him with running status. Once competition removed, friendships could happen. I am glad his ex was truthful in her intentions, but Iām also glad he saw that as opportunity to understand Rin better rather than rekindle feelings for ex. I find myself not really liking her for him. I think she is still more status oriented than Taiga would ever want to be. I am glad senior sings much better than Rin. It was bittersweet that it was his farewell song to her, but now he will be available for Taigaās friend. Senior swapped back to Taigaās food delivery but added a note. I found myself pleased at this action. He needs somebody more grown up than Rin. At the event, Taiga interacts with the athletes about nutrition and good taste. Mr Sakumoto liked the soup and was curious it was based on Korean recipe. This seems a very good possibility for Taiga to interact with athletes from a different perspective. Rin has also received an internship from a company. Maybe this will give her a clue about what she wants to create. I loved the ending brought them better understanding on their own terms. Each recognized where they disappointed the other and want to try again. I am surprised I am truly happy with this outcome for them. I was so annoyed with Rin that I wasnāt sure she could change my mind. She is maturing and taking responsibility for her insecurities and frustrations with work. He understands she needs support from him in a more timely fashion. His ex made him see that prompt and direct communication prevents misunderstandings and he ran to Rin to clarify things. This ending was a very sweet reunion for them. š„°

When the lights come back on the four burglars were actually starting a new business.š Noodles served and group picture taken. This episode flashes back to how shop got started and noodle maker introduced to rice noodle maker. There is a time jump to present and we get to see what happened to all the people present on the misunderstanding night. This was a fun story of how owners met, āburglarsā caught and a romance started via pagers. There is also a quarrel between opera performers that ended on better terms than expected. Each story gives us an interesting view of life in Shenzhen.

The workers at an eatery are having fun making up stories about the people eating there. It is quite fun for them. They were enjoying the table swap of two who ordered the same dish. Four men enter who seem to fit the bill for a recent burglary. A cop friend enters and the owners try to steer him away but he plants himself adjacent to the four. As chatting progresses and the lights go out there is a fun mashup of the men trying to take down the burglars.

The crew finally gets city agent to chill out and enjoy a local celebration. Gma even made him a jacket to wear. He calls home and is chastised for not calling sooner. He has missed the chance to talk to his daughter and his wife wants to know when heās coming back. While chatting, an earthquake hits and his call home is cut off. Gmaās herd is gathered back except for the calf she refused to have tagged. City agent actually finds him but is out of fuel and no phone signal. He has a poignant chat with the yak and seeing how much time he spends away from his family. The teamās drone locates them and everybody is back where they belong. This time when city agent calls home he is far more relaxed. He introduces his daughter NiuNiu to the yak NiuNiu. It is a very cute conversation. The city agent returned home and he now no longer places top value on company placement. He now recognizes the value of appreciating family life and has a much better balance of his priorities. This story had more humor and beautiful landscape. Itās like a mini To the Wonder showing the beauty of nomadic people and the world they live in. On to the next story š

This story has a top selling insurance agent headed to yak country to persuade the ranchers to purchase insurance for their animals. This is a very hard sell as they want nothing to do with the gadgets that would help them track their animals nor do they see value in a piece of paper compared to their herds. Little by little the city insurance agent is understanding his client and vice versa. They still would prefer him gone, but slight progress is made on both sides.

After a resounding defeat first episode, this mom fails to give up and she writes down how to get to all the various buildings. She sings this until the leaders give her a chance. What she learns is that the building she cleaned thinking her sonās, actually belonged to her original nemesis to getting to VIP section. A twist of fate gave her a new career with likeminded people and discovering her son was just fine. It is fun watching this delivery team combine skills to hold their own in a very competitive job field. Each of these stories are produced and acted by different casts and crews. I really enjoyed this first story and now waiting to see what happens with story two.

This is part one of a short story about a mom determined to get her son out of debt. She was once an opera singer and it is fun how her skills are used to help her navigate the building delivery service routine. The story is both fun and poignant as it shows the hardships of middle age career changes and adapting to its rigors.

Man ends up at Musanās place. Fortunately for her she is rescued by monthly which gets to test MuSun on getting pads for her.šš¤£ she has fun testing him on all his meticulous habits and he is capable of a better self around her. When he tucks her in I have to smile that there is a kinder, gentler guy well hidden under all those red flags. He is not a nice person, but he can be a gentleman and I give him points for that. Her checking the bedsheets and slamming the door. š She is deliberately bold taking over his living room for her meeting and he rewards her with home made spaghetti even after her teasing. She intrigues him and that makes him more interesting. I think MuSunās job offer has the pretense of being kind to KaiXi but whether itās to help stick it to Chen Mian via work or seducing his wife remains to be seen. KaiXi is blossoming with this venture and finding herself with more boldness and capabilities. Her job is a farce but if MuSun manages to keep that from her she will grow as a more independent person and find where her talents really lie. I want to smack Chen for insulting the meal she spent hours to prepare and then telling her to order him fried chicken. He is treating her new job as a hobby to keep her from imagining his liaisons with other women. š” I cannot wait to see him kicked to the curb. Man refers QingCheng to an acting opportunity which really sounds promising, until she arrives and itās all about catering to the diva main actress. Not only was she slammed for being old the diva thinks she is getting too much attention from her favorite director and now will have it in for her. Handsy director thinks he is being honorable showing her his divorce certificate while setting a salary to take care of his dad and twins. What a winner.šš Man tries to bail her out but MuSun interrupts and now it has turned into an impromptu double date. QingCheng is thankful for the company until the director asks if anything going on between Man and MuSun. Now it is quiet while episode ends.This drama has made all the men creeps. I am hoping there will be a civilized male at some point. The women are dealing with the quandaries of juggling family, careers and relationships and we get front row seats to issues most women deal with on a regular if not daily basis. I like that this drama candidly addresses these issues through character interactions and womenās conversations.

KaiXi and Man chat about their circumstances married vs single. KaiXi is mom and wife but has lost herself and identity in the process of running the family. Man has chosen her own path and charging boldly ahead, but she has the burden of public and family opinion with no partner or family to give her privacy and support. This episode has KaiXi with friends comparing women that appeal to men and the benefits of divorce. They have plenty to say til the subject of their gossip shows up. One comparison that struck a chord with KaiXi was the pretty woman who was a painting, once admired, now forgotten. The career woman was like a book that could continue to be read and explored. QingCheng is looking forward to her audition when she gets a call that something came up and she was no longer needed. Her phone has a lot of red lines through interviews and ya have to wonder if her refusal to scummy director has been spread to others to blackball her from other parts Her roomie comes in very drunk and haggard. She was MuSunās date to the premier. She got kicked to the curb early and went clubbing to come home worse for the wear. She is feeling old at 29. QingCheng tries to offer sound advice about the shopping bribe and what that really meant. Man gets a call from dad wanting to know why his capable daughter could earn every certificate but a marriage one? I am glad she hung up on him because he was rather relentless in his bashing of her as a person. She visits her ex to see the dog and gets dinner with his parents. She even tries a date to a bday party and sees what she was missing not being in their social circleāturns out to be career tier gossip session. She was no more impressed with this lot than KaiXiās high society friends. She rolls her eyes at thinking she ever wanted to be part of this crowd. She received a reminder of her 22 year old self from a book she had returned by her exās ex. She stood up for herself nicely at that wreck of a bday party and told loser ex to shove off, but ends up in a bar crying over drinks. She texted KaiXi to meet her but MuSun shows up instead. She drunkenly tells him how fed up she is with guys having it better in the workplace and the expectations of marriage and family placed on women over career. He invites her to his place and I am not sure if he will be helping her or taking advantage of her. Man is a mess and needs a friendās shoulder, but heās not a safe place to land.

QingCheng heads to what she believes is an interview and taping for a movie. The directorās requests and script donāt line up and she exits promptly. She gets a call from a real director and this time checks on what the part is. She dodged a bullet with Mr striptease director.šAt the movie premiere, Man sees MuSun with a pretty and younger date. Even with a date he tries to make moves with Man. Tiao had an accident on his scooter and English tutor shows up to the rescue. KaiXi is in panic mode and calls Man. When Man gets to the ER, she has a collision with one of the docs and gets reprimanded. As she comforts Kai Xi and Tiao she is introduced to the brusque Dr who happens to be a friend of Kai Xi. The one time KaiXi wants to introduce her she brushes it off and hurries them along. KaiXi has reason to fear. Chen Mian has already made his son a good spy and was told how careless his mom is.š” Kiddo works cheap for chocolates. I hope he isnāt successful getting rid of the maid. She is KaiXiās last line of defense, she just isnāt aware. KaiXi is guilty of painting her acquaintances with a broad brush of better relationships than her. If she would candidly network with them, she would most likely find the majority of them in similar straits. She is depriving herself a peripheral support system and thatās unfortunate. Man is doing her best, but she really is unaware of just how bad KaiXiās situation is. I have no clue what is up with Manās ex. He is like a weird wannabe celebrity stalker with Man as a way into their circle. He asks odd questions like he is digging for information and out of the blue wants a trip with her out of the country? His character makes no sense to me. The only good things of this episode is QingCheng avoided having a revealing video made by a creep and KaiXi is starting to see her husband as the enemy. Since he is trying to undermine her to their son, he needs to go. She needs to cut her losses and do what is best for her and son. She is not seeing that her passiveness with his womanizing is giving her son lessons in life that shouldnāt be there, as evidenced by Chen working with tutor via Tiaās love of chocolate. š” He truly is a scumbag even if he can have a cute Lego play date with son.

This episode starts off with some friendly competition on court, but then showed some heat between Chen and Zhou about work. Zhou is being cut out of a deal and he lets Chen know he thinks he is still a contender. QingCheng is also friends with Man who helps her get into an art exhibition for opportunity to apologize. Mission is somewhat successful but KaiXi resents feeling manipulated and responds with a furniture delivery.šš¤£ I wish QingCheng would have talked about her father rather than her mother. She did not realize that her new friends would have benefited more from that insight than the hardships of her mother. Manās ex sees her chatting over coffee and invites himself over. Initially he looked down on her ājobā which led to their breakup. Now that she is with popular actors and directors he wants a way in with celebrities. š She gets a surprise at the film preview.

I like that QingCheng went back to the elevator and told KaiXi the truth. KaiXi got that confirmed for herself when she went to the room but now both besties know QingCheng is not that sort of gal. MuSun is a surprise for Man. He pushes all the right buttons, but just like his friend, once he has read the room he thinks he has things his way. Chen Mian reluctantly went home to his son but then had the sweetest time playing Lego. Kai Xi is so hopeful as she sees them playing and enjoying each otherās company. She even posts them on her social media as the definition of happiness. If only that were true. He has so much potential to be the good husband and father but chooses to not. He steps up with his son but finds all of KaiXiās efforts smothering or lacking. His final dig was how amazing Man was because she was a self made woman with a career. He is a complete louse in the husband department. Itās a very far cry from his vow before his friends when they got married.š She tried to entice him to stay but he wasnāt having it. He needed that extra hour of sleep before his board meeting. As he heads back to the city, Man has her own mini crisis and calls Kai Xi for help. She is intrigued by MuSan but not ready to sleep with him. When he said he couldnāt sleep with another near she called him out for being willing to suffer it a night had she opted to sleep with him on his terms. He was quite the charmer and thought he had her set with his drying of her hair. He definitely made the perfect setting for things to go more intimate. Once she realized he couldnāt just share her company, that gave her a better perception of his real thoughts about her and she could leave on her own terms.

QingCheng only knows the cheating hubby as King of the Wind who is her biggest contributor. He is very good at reading the room and becoming whatever type is necessary to capture the interest of the woman he is with. Man is waiting for MuSun to show up at a hotel lobby and sees QingCheng enter after seeing Chen Mian in the lobby. She gets photos of QingCheng going in and knows itās a hookup and sends pics to KaiXi. What the best friends donāt know is that QingChengās father was a cheater, so she instantly saw through the flashy Zhou MuSun and had absolutely no interest. The cheater fell under her radar because he wore no wedding band or fancy watch. He came across as a regular guy and she received him as such. He didnāt even deny his marital status at the hotel. He was completely comfortable propositioning her and trying to pressure her into an affair. QingCheng saw KaiXiās name on the call and instantly put two and two together. She left things ambiguous with King of the Wind, but removed her like from KaiXiās post. They met at the hotel elevator and we arenāt told what happened in this episode. In this case, I feel bad for the dancer who took a chance on a guy. I did, however, think she was careless for her safety going to a hotel room to a guy she didnāt even know the name of. She did not set out to be the other woman because she despises that the most because of her dad. I am waiting to see how the three of them handle this situation. I am hoping she and Kai Xi clear the air in what happened and not between her and her friendās chameleon spouse.
