MuSun tries to catch Man’s attention. Dr Fang hears his brother and cousin at hospital and tells KaiXi to be careful. While talking with the lawyer it becomes more and more evident that Chen Mian was looking out for himself in the event of the marriage not lasting. He has said repeatedly that the right wife material was one who would sacrifice everything for the family. That is what he sees KaiXi’s role as. He has put her parents in a villa and offering to pay for decorating so that KaiXi will be in a more vulnerable spot to try to make them go against him. He’s really self centered and selfish. His promises are as worthless as he is. There is no way his parents will ignore a grandchild. The documentary takes a somber turn when a patient dies. It is afterwards revealed that he was technically DOA but they wanted his family to have some closure by knowing effort was made. This was the director’s idea and actually showed he wasn’t as crass as I thought from his prior patient request. The team went to the rooftop and held vigil til sunrise to have hope for a new day after suffering a loss. KaiXi wants a divorce but she is still hesitant with the decree because she’s more likely to get nothing when she files it. At the end they make it look like QingCheng is chummy with Chen Mian and there is a sonogram picture in moments.

This starts with MuSun agreeing to be in documentary. Dr Fang helps Man out and they say they are going on a dinner date. There is a bickering moment between him and Man paying for MuSun’s meds. She takes MuSun out in a wheelchair and tells him good bye as he gets in the car. Kai Xi gets a notice that her vehicle had a traffic violation and knows for sure Chen Mian is not in Shanghai. She and Man get snooping and find game files with QingCheng. Here is where I am annoyed with both of them. They know who QingCheng is and her stance on red flags. There is no way she would get involved with Mian again because she would never betray her friends like that. This episode tried to make her look guilty but a friendly chat with somebody is not having an affair. They find out that the one that is pregnant is his assistant. They see him unloading baby stuff at her house. There was a very awkward celebratory dinner where Mian toasted the table. And then there were shots fired from everywhere. Dr Fang is tired of the crap from MuSun and Mian about women and says so. What really brought things to a head was the baby shoes. Was this supposed to go to the other house or an honest mistake from his family? She confronts him about an illegitimate child and knows what level of hell she’s in now.

Man takes Dr Fang to a 5 star restaurant to woo him to participate in documentary. She gets a no. This episode has Qing Cheng drinking for director. She finally impresses them enough to make them stop being asses about drinking. She gets the three extra days they need for film shoot. Director Jiang finally tries to woo her directly but she wants sibling relationship. She respects him and wants it to stay that way. Dr Fang had camping plans with Tiao, but since he had a fever Man filled in. They had a fun time and he called her out for making her heart race.🤣Kai Xi goes on an interview to support her husband. Man respects her word and says so. She often doesn’t see KaiXi stick up for herself but this time she did. Too bad we only get to hear about it rather than see it. They try to have lunch with QingCheng but she just showed up to share the latest gossip of MuSun helping Mian financially at the company. KaiXi felt her efforts had been undermined but her biggest grief was she had to hear her husband’s business from third parties. He completely left her out of the loop. During a rainstorm, Dr Fang brings out bags to use and he and Man play like children. He agrees to the documentary. The camera crews have to work as long as the doctors and Dr Fang gives his shoulder for Man to rest. She tries to act like big sis and calls him kid. He lets her know he doesn’t have a sis nor is he a kid.😝 They tape a young patient and it is a sweet moment. The fortune cookie story was poignant and Man found he left her one too. She posted it and he responded with a rainbow. The director is being an ass and actually wanted the young patient to return for better footage. Man said that wasn’t what a documentary was and wasn’t appropriate. Dr Fang overheard and got her lunch. When he thanked her for sticking up for him, her response was quite direct that she would have done that for anybody and they were not a we. After refusing him, the director gave her an extra hard day running her around with consent forms. The last one turned out to be MuSum.

This episode has Man’s parents trying to match her cousin with the cute and eligible Dr Fang. Man tries to accommodate her parents to get info and pic from him. Dr Fang lets her know he’s not interested in the cousin and has another woman in mind. She is surprised but pleased at his interest. But for now she’s not taking him seriously. QingCheng gets a call from her long lost father wanting millions for cancer treatment. He is determined to get money from her and threatens to go on tv. He has already influenced social media to go against her. What he wasn’t prepared for was the nice acting of the trio to get a recording putting him in his true light. He is bought off for significantly less and his machinations made known to the public. Once again QingCheng is back in favor. Chen Mian is spending lots of time at home and wants to play Lego with son when he’s supposed to have a cello lesson. What’s funny is that KaiXi calls him to task and makes both men in her life behave.😂 Dr Fang wants to go out with Man. She is considering it but ends up needing help after collapsing. He comes to her rescue, wants to know MuSun’s status with her, and wants a date.😂 He is quite bold when he wants to be. At the hospital she learns her condition was caused by hemorrhoids and Dr Fang grins as he closes the curtain. He takes her home and offers to dictate for her. He gets acquainted with smut and his ears actually go pink.😂 Man has fun teasing him and asks if he learned anything. He had a good response….women’s mindset.😂🤣 He is quite capable of keeping up with her, it’s just not as smooth and worldly as MuSun. But he could be a breath of fresh air if she would consider younger men. He is making her consider. 😁 She is asked to make a documentary and the handsome doc they want onboard won’t go on camera. Man thinks she can make him reconsider.

This story was a fusion of martial arts and dance. It was truly a work of art. Nicely done.👏🏻 This whole collection of stories revolved around life and dreams in ShenZhen. It is well worth the watch and highly recommended.

This was a fun story with home life and technology meshing. A family hired a nanny and ends up with two Nannie’s and a robot….or is that two robots and a nanny?

The second part showed a successful build and a marriage proposal. He and granddaughter got to play in the skyrise restaurant he had promised with wife. I don’t know if imagined or real but his wife played a concert for them at construction site.

This tells the story of a construction worker testing a new foundation building technique. We start with him returning after decades away to watch his granddaughter play piano. Going back in time this love for piano came from his wife who has past away. He has not seen the building they made for a very long time and he refuses to even think about remarrying. He countered that with not expecting a second grandchild when his daughter brought it up. The first part ends with them discouraged. They had saved the foundation from the hurricane, but now high temperatures makes the concrete cure at different times so the slide method for frame working is not going well and this group is far behind compared to the others using the traditional layer by layer method.

MuSun shows up with gifts and good wishes but he declines visiting Man in her room across from hospital. To be fair he has assisted her more than he typically would. This proves even when invested in the person, he truly lacks the wherewithal to help tend to them when needed. He has never lied about this and has been candid since the very beginning that he wasn’t that sort of partner. KaiXi packs her linens and shows up promptly to be there for her friend. They talk about a schoolmate who was basically a mean girl. Seems she hasn’t changed in the last couple decades. What was of note was her mentioning that Chen Mian had eyes for Man first and then moved on to Kai Xi. I can only say Man dodged a serious bullet. Would he have been different with a career wife vice a homemaker? Maybe, but he is such a self indulgent person so it is still unlikely. I think a career woman would have kicked him to the curb much sooner, which is most likely why Man wasn’t the least bit interested. She tends to look after herself too. Man’s dad’s surgery went well and things are looking up for the better. Chen Mian is still MIA amd tragedy hits. Kai Xi’s baby has stopped forming and the heart has stopped so she has to go through an abortion alone. Man finds out from Dr Fang that she is in hospital and then Man calls Chen Mian and lets him have it. He shows up at home and looks in on her but is online either with game or real girl so yeah, he’s a real winner of a husband.😝🙄🤬 It is New years and everybody is celebrating. Kai Xi is still down but she is a giver and always has been. She is a master of pushing her needs aside to make way for those around her. Man ends up making a food delivery to Dr Fang and they wish each other a happy new year. QingCheng is still on film site but she did go to the temple to pray for her friend. She is sad she can’t be there with them. I wish her character was used more than as a plot device because she is an incredible asset to the besties. As a trio they cover all the bases and there is less history with her so she often has the most objective eye to things. Chen’s company seems to be having issues when the episode ends.

There is a chase for the statue parts and through a series of events the two become friends. They each share a bit of their history and have a misadventure.

This story is about a series of statues dedicated to a park in ShenZhen. One of the models celebrated his bday with his statue and found the head missing. A young would be thief was running off with the arm. After being chased and rescuing his chaser, it turns into a quest to find the missing head. All they have discovered is a young thief with a cart was the culprit.

This story begins with a boy making his mom super mom for a writing project at school. He was ridiculed by the students and his mom called to school for him fighting. His mom was struggling with balancing home and work which resulted in her son handling a lot of alone time. At a field trip the young boy was lost and much later found on a highway rescuing an injured kitten. He suggested an animal crossing over a busy highway to reduce traffic accidents and injured animals. His mom helped with public awareness to make this project a reality. This story let us see through the eyes of a child.

This episode has Man dealing with her dad’s cancer. She calls KaiXi to get in touch with her cousin Fang the doctor. The tests reveal that while circumstances not ideal there is still lots of room for hope. Kai Xi is getting her first prenatal appointment and Chen Mian nowhere to be found. Whether it’s work or women he’s still being scarce. The only good thing of all of this is Man and Kai Xi have set aside their differences and made up. They don’t have to spend time wasting in words just a simple apology and hug and let’s deal with all this stuff together. Dr Fang notices Man and tries to help her. The is where MuSun shows up unexpectedly. He helped get the much needed appointment and in his own way offering help. He chastised Mam for not telling him, but he made it clear he wasn’t up to tending anybody, so why would she think he would be interested or helpful? Especially after his colleague typ bday gift? She is grateful nonetheless and gives 300k to her parents to help with medical expenses. What she did not foresee was the cancellation of her project and the cold shoulder now that money is on the line and everybody scrambling for remnants. QingCheng has a meal with Director Jiang and right when he thinks she will go to his place she gets a call from her movie director. He is angry but he is too old for her. The sets are down to skeleton crews and everybody is scrambling for work. He is considered top tier and he is also struggling for a project. I think QingCheng’s dram to work in a project where Man is the screenwriter is a very nice thing. I hope that happens through the course of this drama. Dr Fang is interested in Man. He remembers their first encounter. He steps in to make things easier where he can but he stays in background now that MuSan has shown up again. Things are not looking so good for KaiXi even tho pregnant. Something is off with Chen Mian and he’s not filling her in about company matters. This episode features reconciliations and storm on the horizon.

Thins are strained with MuSun since the failed bday gift. KaiXi is helping her friend get custody of her son. Man inserts her unsolicited opinion and it results in a huge fight. This is one where things are said that can’t be taken back. Kai Xi gets hope for her marriage after a dinner party where she finds out about the marriage clause they have to sign. Chen Mian promises to not hurt her again. It is also revealed that he had dated Man first in a flashback. QingCheng finds herself tagged homewrecker in social media. Man uses her script writer techniques to help QingCheng change the narrative and put the blame on the person really guilty. Man has had a falling out with her dad and learns his insistence she get married is because he might have cancer. Man’s script is not being picked up by client and she is still on the outs with MuSun. KaiXi and Man are not back to speaking terms yet, but they are both showing solidarity for QingCheng. She has finally told Man about her dad and that gives Man some perspective about hers. This episode is where women clash in opinion of career vs family and which has more value. My question is why are they never seen as equal in value and both valid choices worthy of respect and appreciation?

MuSun sees Man lost her shoes and carries her off. It was a sweet moment. Chen Mian was watching Kai Xi’s new video and was commenting. Everything was going nicely til he came in fuming she helped a friend get a lawyer. He thought she was butting her nose in where it didn’t belong and she saw herself helping a divorced wife get custody of her son. It digressed from there and it’s another nail in the coffin about where his feelings really lie where she is concerned. Everybody is speculating what bday presents will be. Man is led to think jewelry will be involved. So at then end of the episode when she is given a huge bag of books she is underwhelmed. Kai Xi has Tiao at a friend’s house and a romantic dinner lined up. She has waited a good long while and finally the doorbell rings. She is expecting hubby and surprise gift. The gift was delivered by his secretary. His flight was delayed and his apology given. As she stares at a room full of designer bags and she looks at the new one she just received, she sadly realizes each bag must represent a tryst that wasn’t with her. MuSun remembers Man’s bday by having it with her name in contacts. The trio discuss bday gifts from men and what they signify as far as feelings and intentions. Man and Kai Xi were both greatly disappointed.
