Military reforms, Miraculous crafts established and a mother’s love and support

This episode has the Empress dowager and WuYi going toe to toe strategy. He has done his best to keep JiaYu out of it but fate chose differently. Her best friend got to stay out of it but she questioned if WuYi could keep them both safe. He is sidelined by seeing one from his past and meets JiaYu’s mother. She has the Phoenix heart token and will give it to him if he will divorce her daughter and keep her from Mao. Here we learn that WuYi is crown prince WenXi. The fake XiaoSheng is still alive and the monument had to be destroyed because it was falling and would have crushed WuYi’s brother. For all the seriousness the bet between the wife and friend funny. Wu Yi and JiaYu responding in sync humorous too. 🤣The Beifu army is now questioning WuYi’s leadership as Empress dowager planned and she is using this to cause friction with the imperial guard and impeach WuYi. The one thing master strategist crown prince did not take into consideration is what the Creator of Miraculous Craft logo meant to JiaYu. This was her self made image of herself and his stunt with her label trashed it. He had become just another user to reduce her to pawn status. Tutor Xie is trying to mentor his son in the art of politics. He deftly maneuvered away from the direct question of his son about his part in 30k deaths to enticing him to the power of ruling. It all sounds reasonable but I had to note the piece he put in his son’s hand was the black one. I don’t see him teaching his son to posture for justice near as much as the path of least resistance to gain power and position. WuYi asks JiaYu to accompany him to the Beifu camp after promising her he would help her untarnish her logo. At the camp the rebel soldiers siding with the Imperial guard were punished accordingly. Yue’s head and fake XiaoSheng was delivered to Empress Dowager’s carriage where master strategist WuYi had her accept Beifu’s military reforms. At the camp he had JiaYu show the difference between a toy crossbow compared to one for military use. Knocking off the brazier with first shot made quite an impression. She did not deny her hunter design was the culprit for their loss, but it was also noted that officials were required to have them mass produced and provided to their army through the armory director. This was such a massive blow to the power play Empress dowager thought she had succeeded at accomplishing. JiaYu’s proving what the memorial was made from and how it would collapse with heat demonstrated the Empress dowager’s treachery with her magnanimous gift of hundreds of lanterns. Her treachery has been made obvious for those that have eyes to see. I am waiting to see what happens to the impeaching officials that had info used prior to it being released to the public. He has declared peace on northern border with envoys wanted to form a treaty. This job came to Mao and WuYi to accomplish because Empress dowager wanted no part of it. This seems typical for those wanting to ensure their own power rather than true help for the people. I think Mao sees his friend in a new light and can compare this strategy for peace and reform compared to Tutor Xie’s position of everybody is a pawn if in the way to ambition’s height. WuYi purchased a shop for her to hang her logo and be offially used for arms improvement as well. It was a touching moment when she cut the sign in half to label it Miraculous Crafts only making it clear women could contribute. JiaYu’s mother thinks she offers WuYi an offer he can’t refuse. He will only agree that JiaYu deserves choice and that nobody else should make that for her…not even him. She gives him the phoenix heart tokens and promises her allegiance and to find the last token holder. What was interesting is we now know Mao is Tutor Xie’s son but what we don’t know is who JiaYu’s parents really are because neither her mother or father are her biological parents. WuYi has become more and more sad that he is falling in love with a wife who wishes him happiness and success while she runs off with Mao to see the world. He has not promised divorce but knows this is very well the option JiaYu will choose. Her mother agrees and that is why she pledged allegiance. I love that he let her know he would not be manipulated by anybody. I don’t think she expected that strength in character. I am not sure how he will convey all this to JiaYu, but it will inevitably cause him increasing heartbreak to watch this play out. I hate that this causes him suffering, but I am so content to see a mother going all in for her daughter without using her as a pawn. She only wishes her daughter happiness and the right to decide what path best gets her there. I cannot fault her for paving the way for her daughter’s freedom.

Don’t call me darling and double 9th festival

The episode opens with Jia yu’s mom wanting a divorce. That he calls her darling has to grate on her ears after what he has done and how he used their daughter. It was also revealed she was not his biological child so maybe that is why he could toss her out as a pawn. I loved her presenting him all accounts settled into nice neat his and her stacks. He picked his son and killing 30k people. She picked their daughter and wanted nothing more to do with him. When he wanted to know where she would find a place to stay she reminded him that the world is vast and it was no longer any of his business. 👏🏻She had the phoenix heart token and its presence was supposed to indicate peace. JiaYu now knows her parents are divorced and she is sad. I hope this opens up a path to her mother. And who is the one she met in the road as she was leaving the city? She is not aware of the extent of WuYi’s injuries or that at best he will have 3-5 years unless some miracle cure shows up. As everybody prepares for the double ninth ceremony, WuYi disguises JiaYu as JingLing for the evening and even gets them a date. He has shot himself in the foot and heart letting his consort have a rendezvous with her favorite guy. It is starting to bug him that she makes gifts for everyone under the sun but him or tosses him one as an afterthought. She is trying to get true crossbows made to help the army and he has agreed to let her try. the empress dowager is as low as they come making the sister choose between her brother or best friend. Some of the subplots have been handled but there are more in the works he is sure of it. The Empress dowager is hoping for a clean sweep of all the people she most wants rid of. Snoopy JiaYu found out all the family secrets on the prayer tree. Her friend was spared being the traitor, but JiaYu sees the fake Xiao Sheng and she falls into their trap anyways. WuYi sees her run past and who is following her when the episode ends. This episode has WuYi melancholy that he has feelings for his new bride that aren’t reciprocated. He also sees no honorable way to steal her from his friend who loved her first. He has resigned himself to work with the hand he is dealt and make the best use of it possible. He is hoping he will have just enough time to sort it all. JiaYu’s mom is going to try to find the crown prince because the last thing she wants is a Xie on the throne. Long wait til next episode.😭

The man behind the mask

This episode revealed the greedy ambition of the Grand Tutor. He and the Empress dowager had someone pose as Xiao Sheng to have the Miraculous Craft Creator make crossbows. She knew the design had flaws and said so, but the design was purchased as is. WuYi’s brother revealed the memorial board that had 30k memorial tablets on it representing the cavalry soldiers that lost their lives to a defective weapon. They have reason to hate JiaYu. She never bothered to think they were anything other than decoration. She did not bother to ask what they were used for. She was shopping for Mao and the cash was her only concern. For the first time she felt the weight of the souls lost due to her creation. It took the deaths of her guard and maid for her to realize there are consequences for choices. What was obscene is that her father knew what he was doing. He deliberately culled the ranks of the bravest to lower the strength of WuYi’s army. Not only that, he deliberately split up the two lovebirds so he could manipulate Mao. I really don’t have words strong enough for how despicable these acts were. They were especially heinous because he did this to his own family. It was wicked enough out of loyalty to a ruler towards an enemy. But to one he supposedly loves?! He must know that JiaYu isn’t his daughter or he would have made greater effort to discourage the match. What I did appreciate, was the emperor revealing to Mao the depth of Grand Tutor’s amorality. The end justifies the means no matter how many innocents suffer as a result. The look of pride on the mom’s face when Jia Yu renounced her family and why. We don’t know what all the mom was aware of as far as his politics went or why she sticks with him. It is definitely not because love has anything to do with it. JiaYu stuck up for herself well and made it clear she understood the tragedy he caused. I can’t wait til he’s the pawn. I like that Jia Yu and WuYi’s wife are getting along. That certainly doesn’t have to be the case and usually isn’t. It is also surprising that WuYi understands what happened with her design, and while furious, recognized that she was a pawn in the machinations of the Tutor and Empress dowager. Jia Yu even told her dad when the day came for the debt to be paid to the army, she would take it on instead of him. She now understands that a blood debt is due because of her. And her questions about people at the festival helped her visualize just how many soldiers should be alive. WuYi is touched by her sincerity in promising to create something that would give them victory. He is disappointed that she thought Mao got her the candy, and she is annoyed that he asked for his favorite treat when it was supposed to be for Mao. Because of the hate towards her, he really had no choice but to ground her to the residence unless with his permission. She is still really naive about how many people have cause to truly hate her. This episode took a look at the dark side of the powers that be. Tutor’s quest for power in wanting to look out for the nobility by killing off their protectors. He’s a damn fool and I hope he hears that loud and clear from his son. I also hope the mom finds a way to stay in touch. I will really hate it if she is as vile as her husband is.

The wedding that became a rebellion

Seems WuYi and Mao are friends. WuYi tells him up front about the wedding and that it will happen no matter what. 😂🤣 JiaYu carries an arsenal of weapons that could rival Wednesday.😂🤣 Ya have to admire her brazenness to get WuYi’s assist and hide her dropped daggers. What was fun and completely unexpected was him flipping her over his shoulder and escorting her to the palace on his horse. He instructs his wife and maids to be sure JiaYu is kept quiet while he drinks with the guests. Then he makes sure JiaYu and Mao have maps to find their way out of the maze of the palace. Now if only JiaYu had the arrow You are here to see where she is and needs to go.😂🤣 WiYu rolls his eyes that she can’t find her way out even with directions. He gives a location far away and threatens her with death if found. Mao is where he needs to be waiting for her to escape but is taken by Grand Tutor to assist giving meds to the emperor. With all the plots it is hard to tell if JiaYu’s parents are interfering with the escape or another subplot of WuYi. What does become clear is General WuYi has figured out that the Empress dowager set the plot for his troops and wanted Changsha to take the fall. She was hoping they would take care of each other while she set the stage for her choice of the throne. Changsha is struck by a sword as WuYi is close….did the General finish him off or was it a suicide attempt? He confronts the Empress dowager directly if she could reign with peace throughout the land. If not, he had 100k troops outside the gate with the Emperor. This episode tests longstanding friendships and lines being drawn of who backs whom. And what happens to JiaYu when she learns Mao is not there as planned? Is WuYi stopping Changsha from causing a rebellion or creating a counter one? With troops outside the gate he can play it either way. Things are progressing quickly and the cast is doing an excellent job with their roles to draw us into the story with growing anticipation to see what comes next.

Battle of wits

After the bloodbath at poetry session Changsha goes to Empress dowager with whiney boo voice sounding every bit the cowardly mama’s boy. When his whine fest is interrupted, he returns to his arrogant evil self. JiaYu tires to blackmail her parents with hanging herself if they don’t refuse marriage. Here, I love the mom’s attitude to dad—it’s your turn to deal with her since you spoiled her. 😂The fun of having all her favorite things or materials so she could not throw a tantrum and break them….except for the jade crown she bought for Mao. That her mother encouraged her to toss out.🤣😂WuYi forces Changsha to claim suicide for the two dead and clear his name. Jiayu’s parents are accepting the marriage as a way to keep the family safe and a much better alternative than ChangSha The mom in particular told her she now had the perfect setup to create whatever she wanted. Did it really matter who she married anyways? Mom is so happy to see Mao and Changsha out of the picture that WiYu is not seeming a bad choice when he will rarely be home and most likely have little or nothing to do with her. WisYu escapes to a boat where she plans on getting to gma’s house and then on to reunite with Mao. WiYu and his two investigators were trying to find more leads and he notes JiaYu loading up items on a boat. He is actually humored by her audaciousness. The banter when they first meet over the poem. 😂🤣He learns she doesn’t know who he is, so he plays along and pretends to have business with the captain. She finds a bunch of women held captive and tries to help them taking one as witness to the official. Because the lady lied, all the others were killed and JiaYu was determined no more lives would be taken. She returns to save him and shoots him in the behind which was ever so helpful. 😂🤣She found a way for them to get off the boat without killing not knowing he had his colleagues finish the job. Them keeping score to see who killed the most.🤣😂 JiaYu gives him a crossbow as a gift for rescuing her, where he learns they are decorative not particularly functional. What was interesting was her rattling off the materials required to make one for the military. He declines the gift and she thinks she is continuing on her way to Yongzhou but finds herself back in the capital delivered to her parents. She is greeted by a gift from her betrothed….several of her creations dismantled.🤣😂Mom is a spy of some sort, and I thoroughly enjoyed her calmly sip tea while watching her daughter’s antics play out. It’s pretty clear who JiaYu really takes after. This episode combined humor with serious notes in a well executed fashion. Enjoying this drama immensely so far.

IPO time🥳

Everything is going smoothly for Fulaxida. Mr Li is on board. He has helped Mr Liao make peace with his daughter and has even possibly made peace with his old nemesis. Unfortunately, purely by chance, Qian Fei finds out who Yi Fei really is. She now has him locked out of his own apartment. I would have found it more believable for her to be somewhere else waiting for him to look for her. She has a right to be angry, but to lock him out of a place he paid for just rubs me the wrong way. Especially when he helped her ex out with medical bills. I really am not happy wasting the last episode with this. But I also have to agree he could have told her. Threatening to call the cops is really over the top and I’m disappointed with her. This is evened out with her candid chat with his dad. 😘 Her direct counters intrigued him. Her stance on money relatable to him as a businessman, and that Yi Fei told her about his swimming lessons revealed how highly he trusted and respected her. This was new turf. I liked their conversation at the IPO celebration. His appreciation of a woman that could bring out the better nature of his son. Seeing ShiYu and ex at the celebration. 😂 Looks like JingJing and LuZe having twins. 🫣 And the Jun’s jointing Dang Yu with livestreams. The ending where she ended up proposing first🥰🌹 His wanting food. 🤣😂I wish they would have shown candid wedding shots and maybe baby pics with LuZe rather than rehash the show. But, overall it was still an enjoyable watch and I do recommend. It is definitely not without flaws, I grumbled about all of them😂🤣 but it also has a lot of heart and leaves you smiling.

Yi Fei gets around Qian Fei selling her apartment by buying it from her. He is now the Pretentious landlord.🤣😂 It is funny that Jun Cheng told him correctly, from Dang Yu’s lips to Yi Fei’s ears.🤣😂 He has Qian Fei’s company be an investor and she gets to lead up the project. They are the typical corporate couple with endless meetings and hardly being in same city much less same apartment. He follows her to save her from middle-aged men.🤣😂 His colleague calls about a meeting he has to be at so he is outed for skipping work. Things are going too well as next episode shows Yi Fei’s father sounding way too much like Ms Jun. After seeing the difference in his son and knowing how much they helped each other….. I am hoping that was preview cut off sentence. Yi Fei has finally arrived to same page as father…so why would his dad jeopardize all that now?

Loose ends getting tied

There is finally hope for the main couple. Security is coming down on the trio and can’t say unhappy justice came swiftly. Not sure if colleague’s crying act was for real or just acting for lighter sentence. I am surprised a bit at the hug for Fan, but she is still able to appreciate the mentor she was and step away from the leader she had become. I liked father and son getting a real appreciation scene. His dad watched out for her and son watched out for dad’s company. It also fills in the history abut about YiFei’s mom. Qian Fei’s testing of his patience. 😝🙄Had she not been so extra over Qin, maybe this would go over better. But after all of that time wasted holding him accountable for a relationship that never was, his patience had already been tried and tested. This was callous of her tho he takes it in stride with good humor. He probably considers it penance for his business trip disappearance. Liao was less successful with his daughter. She is resigning before he can move her to a low dept. She wasn’t ready for the position and he should have side saddled to educate her in company management. I did not like her petty removal of Qian Fei, but other than that her business moral compass is in a much better direction than her father’s. I will chalk that one lapse to misguided affection. Qian Fei was also guilty of that suppressing her career. She was surprised to see him at her meeting about Fulaxida. She lays the ground rules for their relationship—both staking a claim and holding him at a distance. What was a pleasant surprise was Liao ShiYu looking for a job, and for the right reasons. She wanted to work with integrity and back projects where that was the biggest consideration. An even bigger surprise was him referring her to his ex. The one that has tons of money and too much time on her hands. Next episode looks like Qian Fei is going to sell her a;artment for Ms Wang’s kidney transplant.

Plot starts to unravel

Qian Fei goes to Chengdu to get her old computer back because it has the back up to Yi Fei;s phone. She sends him an email with the data but also discovers Fang involved. Hi Fei and Ms Liao have an impromptu meeting where he confirms Sang’s association with Liao. Here he sees his colleague followed by Sang. I am sad the Shanlifang guy is the third bad guy for real. He probably has an early retirement strategy at Yi Fei’s expense. He now knows there is another computer with the info he took out. I am glad there was a third party that handled the car accident. And I am glad there is no hospital bedside scene with her computer missing. These two finally agree to agree.🤣🙄🥰 Sang is trying to come across smarter than he is but his plot is unraveling. He still has to convince Liao that they were always on the same side. I really wanna see some justice regarding Sang, Fang and colleague playing nice guy. 😡🤬Sang is pushing Mr Liao into more visible posturing with Fulaxida and disregard the failing of Shanlifang. Mr Liao sees the right of things. His daughter already told him about Sang and he doesn’t want to go down with them.

Reality check

What did Qian Fei expect? She was told straight up how small the employment was in her area of expertise and she still wants to forgo her exam. It is funny that she is reading the Little Smarty book Yi Fei was laughing about.🤣 Maybe her list of job refusals will make it clearer for her. 😝 I have no sympathy here because she refused to read the room and thought having the moral high ground would give her a step up. While it should, companies want a good bottom line in the most expedient way possible. She looks like a troublemaker and colluder on paper. 🙄She finally gets a job interview but looks like Wang set it up. He follows with flowers and thinks he has wormed his way off her s list. As if.😝🙄 This segues into a cute session of game video turned mother/daughter dance video. Had they used the gaming angle from the get go, this couple would have been damn cute. As it stands it was a misstep with the stalker son and nosy parents —a huge misstep from production side and no fault of the actors who are doing an excellent job portraying their characters as given. This new twist to cause further misunderstandings with Wang.😝😡Not happy. So they did well with how Qian Fei handled the interview. This was true growth and showed the company why they merited her attention with their projects rather than her being desperate for a job. Yi Fei has waited so long to get his act together and gave her no hope. And she has to not let him speak first. These two annoyed the hell outa me with this.😝He was the flip side of Wang coin the way he phrased things. It is no wonder she didn’t want to hear it. They were almost verbatim in finally acknowledging wring and wanting a chance with her. I guess she does have a type. 🤣😝🙄 She proves she is a good influence because both have become better men as a result. For the business side of things Yi Fei has learned that Sang and Liao are working together with another…Ms Fang seems the culprit but I am wondering about his partner that keeps doing stupid stuff. Why are these two even partners? I am really hoping it’s not his capable colleague with Shanlifang putting a wrench into things. I would hate that. Liao hasn’t even changed his game plan. It’s the same thing he pulled on Yi Fei’s dad. Yi Fei…had he just communicated to her …at all..rather than thinking flowers and dinner would make up for it. Same for her…the phone works both ways. She did at least attempt to call so she gets a point for that. Hopefully there will be some positive for her with the job since the negative is Yi Fei moving out.

Scheme to gain Fulaxida

Wow, Ms Fang never had eyes on Shanlifang. She was always out to get Yi Fei’s company. And now his partner has set him up to get funds from them. They are looking to be biggest shareholders in company after investing ‘good’ money. I am hoping that document that Qian Fei was supposed to check out will be the loophole for them to get out of the deal. At least Qian Fei now knows his departure had nothing to do with her. LuZe may have talked some love sense into Yi Fei, but the jury is still out. She sees him in a new light thanks to their whistle blower visiting Shanghai. Yi Fei has been following up getting son with autism specialist. She then sees Lu Ze’s posts of their successful work. She feels he has locked her out of his circle when she was the one that made and kept it that way. 😝 His character reveal this episode is very like Darcy’s in Pride and Prejudice when Elizabeth finds out about Wickham and Lydia. He’d always warned her about Fang and she didn’t want to hear it. And he went to bat for LuZe by finding a much better use for his app. At least Yi Fei found out about Sang’s plotting. I’m kinda with his partner in Yi Fei just not flat out saying stuff instead of appearing fickle about getting money. 😝It is annoying. He wanted his partner to see for himself and learn. But he did finally expose the scheming Sang had done with the farmers. Mr Liao has also discovered Sang’s plotting. Yi Fei is finding out their scheming to swap shareholders and gathering evidence. 🤣😂 I’m with his partner on this one…I don’t want the class just give me the cliff notes with the right answer.🤣😂All he had to do was say we have to keep 67% of the company to control it. Otherwise shareholders make those decisions for us. Class over. 🤣😂 Funny that Qian Fei’s phone blocked Wang.🤣😂 He is showing regret at the class reunion but I loved her response of wanting to erase herself from his world. That is certainly what he tried to do with Liao Shi Yu. After he dumped her, tried to kick her out of her job, and then still expected her to show up at the hospital for his mom…what on earth did he expect? I’m giving you the stuff I should have years ago to show you how much I care. So what?! 😝 He is only worth forgetting and not even being angry about. Probably no more class reunions reminding everyone of those good old couple days either.😝🙄They had to toss in an interaction with Ms Jun and Dang Yu…. I’m glad Ms Jun can finally be courteous instead of patronizing, but I really don’t care. This is wasted episode time to me. Next episode looks like YiFei is taking too long to get his act together. Wang doesn’t stand a chance but this limbo land the main couple keep themselves in is lasting too long even for a slow burn romance. It is just hard headedness that leads to unnecessary misunderstandings. 😝They are both intelligent people not acting that way when it concerns themselves. 🙄

Payoffs and sabotage

This episode started differently with Ms Fang telling unknown party to start next phase and she wanted payment.😝 is Mr Liao doing this to make Fulaxida go to him for investing? Who is giving Mr Li a hard time overseas? Somebody is pulling the strings. What started off as a happy bday celebration turned into a Qian Fei whine fest. She has made a full circle of reasons to not get along with YiFei. She did not let him explain what happened and now makes assumptions about his feelings without asking. And Mr Ego get around to it when the time was right did himself no favors either. We get the dance competition and Dang Yu carted off to the hospital but with no follow up from that she is with JingJing on a project apologizing for missing Jian Fei’s bday. There is an unknown caller wishing her happy bday that Yi Fei had something to do with because he deleted the contact from her phone. There is a mysterious data file from Shanlifang needing verified and the colleague there is taking care of it instead of Yi Fei. Yi Fei is having to calm down a farmers’ mob because they received info their govt subsidies were being taken away from them. YiFei flew in personally to calm them down and explain the process and how everybody benefited from a network that allowed direct communication. While he is there Qian Fei has made it all about her. She has reason to be in a down mood and distrustful. But every time she has asked about Qin he told her straight up no. The timing of the business trip did seem convenient, but what does she know if his company or what they do? She is annoying me the most with Ms Fang taking second and YiFei third. 😝🤣That whole is she pregnant conversation could have been left out of the Jun family saga portion of drama. He hasn’t even kissed her yet 😝 at least mom kept her from collapsing on stage which was one unexpected act of kindness. Preview shows her walking into a banquet area where Wang is. That is the last thing I want to see for Qian Fei. 😝 This episode is about sneaks, liars and machinations behind the scenes sabotaging businesses. We just don’t know who or why yet. So maybe the target is more YiFei than Shanlifang. They are simply being delayed in the IPO process. Mr Liao seems most likely since he’s already poached people. I really want to see Ms Fang get justice. Her OCD washing of hands seems to occur when she is being less than truthful or upset. This was a bad place to stop. I hope the whine fest is over next episode and that the peripheral couples are minimally present. But I don’t look forward to seeing Wang in any capacity that includes Qian Fei. 😝

What is truth?

This episode starts with the Qin argument again when a hair is found on med box. 😝Yi Fei explains himself….again. 😝 At work Qian Fei is made company scapegoat. Ms Fang has shown her true colors and even tho she is the culprit, and the company knows, they are firing the lowest on totem pole. Qian Fei drinks away her blues and is toted to bed. There is a sweet kissing scene where he confesses he likes her, but she is asleep.🤣😂 Before everything hit the fan there was a virus on Qian Fei’s phone making it useless. YiFei gives her the latest greatest model claiming it’s refurbished. There was also a cute scene of her putting meds on his burned finger. He is such a baby. 🤣He makes her congee for breakfast but she doesn’t believe he can really make it. What she did realize is he had been doing dishes on his own initiative for awhile now. 🥰He encourages her to stand up for herself to prevent being blacklisted in such a small pool of investment jobs. She has that talk with Ms Fang and lets her know she knows who’s guilty and why she was taking the fall. But she also stuck by her integrity and that is why she would not choose to work with Shanlifang nor a company so willing to frame their own employees. Good for her to realize this. It lets her leave on her terms rather than theirs.

The old guard holds the line and becoming a solitary piece

JingLi’s forces are setting fires and causing havoc. MingXi and FeiBai take care of them. Unfortunately, their flour fire added to the chaos. Prince Ding has arrived a day early and knows he is still too late. He has his man go to the gate to get permission to enter early.
