Not many rumours because he didn't pay those marketing accounts. There are many types when rumoured casting spread. Some spread because the artists want to get the project, so they "viral" the info saying the drama is in contact with them. Some pay the marketing to grab the billing (means casting most likely already confirmed). Some pay just to attach their name to the project (unlikely the project will cast them) so that when final cast confirm, they can brag saying the project delivered to their hands but they rejected it (indicates they're hot stuff, got many projects seek them). Some projects rumoured casting were spread by the production company to corner the artist to take the project. Some spread wrong info about casting to give bad impression to the project. In conclusion, there are a lot of misleading information. As for xu kai, he didn't play demon to disturb others project. Also he communicated closely with fans (via his team) about the confirmed project so that if any malicious intent towards the project, he can prevent nasty fanwars (it's hard to prevent).
