Fanbase is mostly among young actors where the fans are around the age of young adolescence who plays internet. For example, idols have large fanbase but that doesn't guarantee their drama will have large audience since audience comes from all ages, most of them will click on drama where the actors they are familiar with.

Chinese Paladin series are all big IP. They already have game fanbase so reaching 1m reservations should be expected. WOL is not IP, it's an original script, there are no book fans to support the viewing, it all relies on marketing, audience chassis of the starring actors and fans of the author.

Agree with you, I also thought that added this plot for the tension between ML/FL and also giving screentime to the magical doctor, it was a good plot but I was hoping better laid out.

I think the plot where Great General Cui going mad is believable as he once was a great commander who commanded 100k army but reduce to nobody. but it was not being laid out clearly in the drama, probably they cut some scenes. Same goes with Lady Gu's mad ending.

Could have been done by him like the climbing up the cliff in Dance of the Sky Empire. There was 1 climbing tower scene in Court Lady done by Xu Kai himself but unfortunately it was being cut out from drama.

It got good reviews in general but it's hard to reach wider audience as internal conflict in Tencent resulting in suppressing the heat index and also for today super point, watchers were redirected to another drama when they click pay for advance episodes. Their heat was stole by another drama. Hope it can reach more watchers in the future.
