hey, why don't you date JH from season 1(changmin ex) π
Cuz I already have a bf? And I'm not planning any changes LMAO. I was just expressing my appreciation for SH's character π Regardless, I wouldn't go for Lee Jeong Hyun anyway π Doesn't strike me like my kinda guy.
SH seems like a really genuine, honest guy, just a good human being. I'd date him in the blink of an eye if I was single and looking. But i'm not. Still, seems like a really decent bloke.
There are safer ways of promoting your cafe than coming out publicly in SK. I don't think promotion was his primal…
I'm sorry to say that, but I'm afraid he did just that. Yeonnam-dong is one of the trendiest cafe neighborhoods in the whole of Korea, and cafe business is a THING there. You can make actual moola on it, people queue up to the most popular spots daily. So imagine if he had invested all his money into opening this place, this was an opportunity like no other.

No worries, I'm gay myself and a Korean (albeit, a 4th generation Korean American, LOL), I have never been in the closet, and have no problem talking openly about it if anyone asks. I visit Seoul at least a couple times a year cuz of work & friends. I guess the industry I work in helps with avoiding conservative douchebags, nonetheless I have never been openly attacked nor disrespected in Seoul. It's a very slow process, but it's changing, fortunately.

That's not entirely true. In trendy young neighborhoods such as Yeonnam-dong (where his cafe is located, along with thousands of others - which makes it all the harder to break out), or nearby party central Hongdae, there are quite a few gay clubs or bars. The scene is very young and hip there, and he is banking on show's fans to show up. Exposure is everything if you are competing with literally door-to-door fancy cafes. And native Koreans LOVE everything that is viral or trendy, especially if promoted on tv etc. Besides, I highly doubt that people who watch His Man in Korea are homophobic, lol.
Not judging, but it's obvi that SW is there to promote his gelato cafe. He also seems to be a people pleaser, and one of those people who suffer from some sort of a fear of abandonment. That's why, they always want to be liked & adored by everyone, so they string people along, to enjoy being popular & the center of attention longer. Probably, to him the more people he has around himself, the better he feels, without looking at the consequences. I don't think he's doing it maliciously, it's just that he is clueless and just a tiny bit narcissistic, because he is probably used to always being praised for his looks etc. I don't think he genuinely likes anyone in the house for real, and is only now showing active interest in SH, because a) he knows he needs to "settle" in order to "win" (LMAO), and b) he has competition and he doesn't want to lose the interest of his main/favorite suitor (who he enjoys enough to want to keep around, ofc he doesn't want to lose one of his toys that make him feel better about himself).
But if you really look at them, the relationship between SH and JS is much deeper and more profound. They might be different on the outside, but together they seem more mature as a couple than separately. They seem to have both come to the show looking for somebody to date irl, both seem to be honest, and despite their differences both seem to understand that a relationship is all about adapting and compromising. Also, if you're Korean & can talk to somebody for 7 HOURS STRAIGHT without doing anything significant, that's telling. I would bet my money on them endgame, if I had to.
So I watched the first 5 episodes, and fast-forwarded through all the remaining available eps. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I truly preferred the PatPut pairing. Also, Pat is annoying, and only Put managed to make him seem less annoying, if only for a brief time. Jeng is annoying. Actually most characters are...
I didn't think they had sex - maybe it's left to interpretation. Also, stalker/harasser? He's pursuing someone,…
Korean dating 101: When somebody asks you to have ramyeon with them in a dating setting, or asks you if you want to see their cat π, or if they want to practice jujitsu with you....it only means ONE thing. And no, they likely don't have a cat at home LMAO Having said that, it's considered kind of cringey in real life convos these days...
Am I the only one who thinks that there's good chemistry between the leads? I don't get the hate towards the show…
It's a very Korean trope. Even if you watch any straight Korean dating show out there, there is *always* that one guy who keeps chasing a girl no matter what, despite her turning him down at every possible occasion, and all hosts are in awe of his tenacity LMAO. Surprisingly, eventually the girl usually gives in. In Korea this sort of behavior is usually not interpreted as harassment, rather as said tenacity or knowing what the guy wants and sticking to it (being loyal too), which are all traits women, and the Korean society in general, apparently are really fond of. It is kind of the opposite of a fuckboi. Means he's supposed to be a keeper, and there for the long run. Doesn't translate well to Western relationship standards though LMAO
Bruh, you have a weekend ahead of you and a cute guy next to you, and you're asking what you should be doing ? πI mean...I thought you were hungry and liked ramyeon LMAO

He confesses and the next second his granny dies. And the following minute his newly acquired bf is about to move to China. Is Phupa's mother going to be announced terminally ill next episode?π Or is it going to be a fatal car accident?
Oh boy....where do I start... Ain't nothing more romantic and intimate when you've waited for 10+ years than a love confession in the middle of a corporate event LMAO π Also, give the man a break....(the rest of my comment below, marked for spoilers).
