In the original Ziqui (Haejun) dropped out of uni, his bio father stopped supporting him not long after he arrived…
Honestly I don't think the storytelling is good in this version and lots of choices are weird imo but I was just replying to another user saying she got successful all of a sudden which is true.
It's obvious the creators aren't going to put every single moment of their careers but they also didn't have to portray her as "the most successful ex alumni" or whatever and the plot could've continue just fine.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say. I guess you are trying to make up a story of how she got her business going? For me the problem is not her having a business that is going well, the problem is that there's a lack of foundation for that happening, there is not even a small hint.

Oh, forgot to say that in Ziqiu's case, he opened a pastry shop returning but the business didn't do well and had to work somewhere else to keep the business afloat. He eventually decides to close his business and relocate somewhere else.
I'm confused, did Kang Hae Jun's character drop out of uni in the c version? Why does everyone get to succeed…
In the original Ziqui (Haejun) dropped out of uni, his bio father stopped supporting him not long after he arrived in london and he started working in restaurants, eventually studied pastry and saved money to put up a shop back home (this is why it took him so long to return) JianJian (Juwon) always showed an artistic side, winning art sculpture awards from a young age, eventually studied art in uni and opened a small art studio with a senior.
In this version Juwon is kinda magically successful, since they never showed her inclination towards pastry. And Haejun, who knows what he'll do...he seems unemployed right now and with no career.
I have watched the chinese version Go ahead and then this., There are pros and cons for a remake since it will…
It's weird that Sanha is less aloof and more "normal" despite having a mother that is significantly worse. Also he is showing more love and concern for his mom. Ling Xiao took care of his mom just out of filial piety. Idk ...some changes in the plot are just weird imo
sanha will go to Seoul, haejun will go to America. they will lost contact for 10 years, and then come back after.…
They don't lost touch. At least in the og they still call and message each other but because of distance they communicated less and less in those and talked about the same stuff. Also JianJian kinda bites her tongue in telling them she misses them cuz they brothers were supposed to return after a couple of years but because of some circumstances, more and more years passed, so she stopped expecting them to return.
Probably because there's no enough air time to develop her character. Too bad, she was one of my faves.
It's not just that she was funny but along with Ming Yue they form a pretty nice sisterhood. Since JianJian in a way "lost her brothers", she relies on them for support.
Also she has her own character story in which she's kinda lost in life. She was a child actress but as she grew up it was hard for her to find jobs and started to do odd jobs here and there trying to find her way. It's a contrast with JianJian character that has a very stable job/income with her art studio.
No hate to the FL, but her make up doesn't suit her. She looked way better with a natural look in Intense love. Aegyo sal is not for her, she looks tired and frankly looks weird.
they better justify why they lost contact well. seoul is just half a day away why did sanha completely go off…
it's not that they lost contact, at least in the OG they keep messaging each other and video calling. The thing is that with time and not seeing each other every day the topic of conversation shifts to mundane things.
I don't understand why people say that this kdrama version isn't family-centric, are we watching the same show?…
In Go ahead (the OG version of this drama) the kids call both parents "father" and JianJian (the equivalent of Juwon) calls Ge (brother) and XiaoGe (little brother) to both of her brothers, so there's this feeling they really see themselves as family. I know that this is something that throws off some people when the romance is included but putting the romance aside the core of the drama is family (in the chinese one)} It feels strange to me that Juwon wants them to be real family but still calls San Ha's dad Ahjusshi, not even an uncle.
You don't have to watch Go Ahead if it's not your cup of tea but just to show you the difference with this version I'd suggest you watch that scene where Juwon's father gets drunk but in the chinese version, I think there you can see how much more family centric is Go Ahead. Your entire argument is stupid cuz if somebody tried to make the remake of "The God Father", Breaking bad and…
For me the problem is because this drama isn't focused on the family bond and more on the romance which imo ruined it, but whatever, to each their own. At least for me Go Ahead is far superior in storytelling and acting too (at least for JianJian, Ziqui and the dad's roles). Go ahead made me cry like crazy, specially the first part and in the second one with Ziqui story line that is painfully heart wrenching, this one hasn't been able to even make my heart flutter, feels like a regular drama (not bad nor good, just mid) ...the only thing I think is better is Hwang In Youp acting instead of Song Wei Long.
Wish this drama had kept more of the family bond cause this adaptation feels like the typical childhood friends falling in love plot.
In terms of entertaining it's okay but at least FOR ME this adaptation falls flat.
In this version, it seems easier to hate SH's mom. She really display her hatred to SH without trying to be cunning…
I think in the OG the character is more nuanced. Here is more like black and white.
Like in the OG, aside that time when he was a kid and her mom berated at him saying he caused his sister death, she barely brings up the subject (correct me if I'm wrong but I think she never brings the topic again. It's more passive aggressive). Also when she returns it's like she wants to make it up to him that she abandoned him without knowing she's the cause of his pain. She isn't vengeful more like jealous of the relationship his son has with the neighbors and that he doesn't "love" her. Her character, while really crazy and flawed, very deep in her heart still loves his son, she just doesn't know how to move on from trauma and kinda sees her son as her "possession" if it makes sense. Also she is a very selfish person putting her needs above her kids. In this version she is just plain evil and sick, doesn't feel like a real person. Just a character.
In a way it feels that because of the short number of episodes, the storytelling has suffered a lot.
It's obvious the creators aren't going to put every single moment of their careers but they also didn't have to portray her as "the most successful ex alumni" or whatever and the plot could've continue just fine.
That just make the character less real.
