What is the ending though? Everyone including doctor dies, except Jiang Yueluo?

Oh! That is quite a bad ending. I haven't watched till the end, still far back. But I guess based on responses. Such an ending, who would ever want it. I am not in mood to watch the last episode now. Nah! I will never watch it.

You mean Jiang Yueluo's mother? She is not totally bad. She is quite a pitiful character though !! She loved Jiang Yueluo too when he was small, now facing the gun against her own son, she was plotted by, how would she feel? Don't be so cold. She had a really bad life too. Of course her future actions are not justifiable.

maybe try Killer and Healer, it is not very good, but quite good to watch. It seems ok to me as of now, of course it is not as good as WOH, kinda overshadowed by it. Far more better and interesting at some pts, in all really better than ping pong life.

When I look at the rating of the drama, I also look at the # of raters, that also forms an important part. Here in Dramalist, only 57 users have rated, and around 264 users have shown their statuses as currently watching for it, if you check the stats menu. Out of these 57 ratings, a lot would be the ratings maybe of people watching You are my Hero, or fans of Bai Jingting or Xu Weizhou, and some are people who give good rating at the first episode itself, subtracting all of these, the # of people, sincerely voting, would be most likely less than 20, maybe even lesser.
I don't know much about Douban but a similar analysis albeit on a larger scale would be applicable even there. Just that a lot of people rate because it is ping pong, it is sport, some rate Bai Jingting or other actor, some rate because they liked the trailer, some liked Ep1, some will watch it later as it looks good... and so on,

Your points do make sense, Xu Tan although has an interest in ping pong, but he is far more better in studies I think, and he does not have a dislike for it too unlike Shi Guang, who was completely devoted to Go. Ah! I really liked HKG a lot!!
Xu Tan actually doesn't have that much of a die-hard interest in ping pong, same goes for Yu Kenan. They are not like professional players at all, do not even have that basic quality of determined spirit which even those who give up, have till the end. Xu Tan does not have a good coach so he may be excused on that part, but he is faint hearted, not at all a mentality for a professional athelete, he must really focus in academics where he can do extremely well, ping pong for him should be more like an earnest hobby rather than profession. Yu Kenan is a typical bad student, one whose kind most likely would never be in a national team in reality, and even would have been kicked out till now.
I like the supporting players and teachers more, like Fu Jing Qun, really hardworking, not giving up till now, and Liu Shi, kudos to them, these people really have the traits of serious professional players, respect their teachers too even when it seems unreasonable at first, who are set for success if everything goes good.

Yeah it is becoming lesser ping pong and more "drama" now, useless drama. Like that Lei Lei's family, that is completely unnecessary, this is ping pong life not ordinary drama. And the hell, Teng Biao, doesn't even train at all, Lei Cheng trained Xu Tan, but in a wrong way mostly, still he worked hard at least and now Teng, lazy fellow. Scolding them, instead of guiding them, wasn't it clear from the first day itself that the defense-attack problem needs to be resolved. Even Qin Zhen and Zheng are better coaches, they pay a lot of attention to their own students, teach them ways to counter opponents, overcome weaknesses and special moves. And that pig farming as punishment LOL!!
And unnecessary romance, in HKG there was not much of a space given in romance too, and the main leads were completely focused in the game unlike here, Xu Tan is busy thinking on how to confess, give chocolates, rather than discuss strategies, Yu Kenan wasting time all day, why? because the coach is not teaching anything, simple!
All of them have been playing doubles for months together and you compare the the two of them, who are totally raw, with those seasoned fellows.
This is becoming really out of hand now.

Yeah, it seems to me too based on ending credits. By the way, thanks, we should better put it as spoiler. Oh! finally everything came to light in Ep 19. Zhan holds a higher position than Zhao Jingming in Jinma Hall and is the true San Ye, maybe. Or maybe, he also has one San Ye above him. Hahah!!

I am really confused on who actually Executive Zhan is? Is he a good person, is he really friend of Jian Yueluo as he always tries to be? His actions looks good but none of them seem genuine, it seems as if he is hiding a really deep secret, pretending and is within as cruel as Moriarty. Of course this is just my speculation. I don't know fully till now.

Indeed, mango TV is not much popular like youku, wetv, iqiyi etc. Too bad, this drama is under the shadow of Word of Honor, and it is very likely not to gain much popularity as WOH or other like Immortality which would also get lots of views.
Many people also aren't aware of this drama too or have forgotten it exists, or may devalue it because, the actors are not that famous, and this is also maybe Mao Zijun's first time to play a leading role in a good drama . See, on pie chart of this drama her in MyDramalist, the #of users who rated are less than 150 as of now. And the #of watchers are around 1700, of these watchers, the ones currently watching at the moment may be even lesser, around 700. Pity !!

The story is a bit changed from the novel, but the overall pace and flow is the same.
Just that in the novel there is more fighting than this. But I think the drama is quite well made. It is worth watching if you like xianxia/xuanhuan, fantasy, cultivation schools etc.

After all this is his first leading role iirc !!

Yeah, the drama is quite underrated. It is mostly because WOH drew a huge segment of drama watchers away. It is really good as of now and worth watching!! Except a few foolish and illogical things popping up in the plot, it is quite good to watch.

Ah! You will soon see, that YKN's arrogance and attitude would reduce a lot when he goes for punishment, to work in village.

Hahah! So funny to see their punishments. This is an enjoyable drama indeed. Those muscles Xu Tan's makes in Ep 18.. Woah!!
