LYT was placed in a safe place before Sima Jiao started the explosion but the Shi family somehow found LYT and brought her there. So, LYT got involved in the explosion which shocked Sima Jiao and he started grabbing the dead souls there to find LYT soul but couldn't find her and got distracted so a few Shi clan members could flee from there, they also quitely took LYT away to tamper with her memory so that they could use her to make a comeback and kill Sima Jiao. Then the 2nd Arc starts where Sima Jiao conquers demon relam to find LYT and also hunt down the last Shi Clan members. After LYT and Sima Jiao reunites in the 2nd arc and the last shi family member is killed; his revenge was finally complete.
2nd FL Hongluo was never a villain. In the novel, when LYT was without Sima Jiao surviving in the cruel demon world she became friends with Hongluo the kind life-death friendship. Later Hongluo was killed and while getting revenge for hongluo, LYT meets the snake and the snake brought her to Sima Jiao. LYT later even asked Sima Jiao to help reincarnate Hongluo.

All three lifetime have plenty of their scenes. Actually, in the novel the whole plot is about the romance between the two.. other things are just the minimum background. The drama extended the background plot settings more to make the plot suitable for drama adaptations. If you read the novel, you will see almost everything is about the two of them.. very small fillers.
In the novel, Some characters from gencheng immortal mansion appeared in the demon world arc..as Sima Jiao's revenge truly ended in the 2nd arc. Also, Hongluo or Yu Ruling drama character belonged to the 2nd arc in the first place and drama extended her story to the immortal world so both Hongluo and snake will be present throughout the three arcs.
No matter what version it is, be it novel, manhwa, drama.. because the story itself and lead characters are set well, it deserves to be shared. I love every version of it 💞💞💞 . Hope an anime version will come too in the future.

I also appreciate this FL character very much. She is realistic. She isn't self-righteous and doesn't meddle in things and not those nosy types who thinks they are smart and everything and then get themselves into trouble by acting beyond one's bounds only to end up playing damsel in distress again again..
She also never judged any of the ML's action in the whole novel or asked him to do things her way....She expresses opinion only when it involves herself.... despite her salted fish nature her thinking was very mature.. she thinks other's grudge or hatred or revenge has nothing to do with her so she is in no position to interfere in it.
Of course it doesn't mean she is inactive. She will do what she needs to do when necessary and she will have a growth period too. From thinking herself as an outsider in this world to slowly becoming a part of this fantasy world.
The best thing about this story to me isn't the plot but the ML and FL personality and character and their interactions.
