What if it really isn't a happy ending? Cheating and abuse either never happen or happen continuously once they…
I think this is very true. But I wonder if they are equally powerful. I could see an ending where she ends up miserable and can’t effectively fight back. On the other hand, with her willingness to drug someone (and access to drugs), perhaps she can level the playing field. Either way, I don’t see a happy ending for them. They are both people with a strong desire for control and a willingness to hurt the other party in order to get that control.
It has been this way since 2018-2019. There is little hope for this one since subbers dont usually pick unfinished…
The reason I stopped subbing after episode 27 is because YouTube stopped allowing fans to sub other people's videos. Since the videos aren't mine, I can't add subs. Sorry! I also wanted to continue this project...
I felt it got better. Did you end up finishing it?
It starts in a rough place, but all of the characters have a lot of character growth. It's kind of amazing that in such a short series, with so many characters, they're really able to offer growth to every character, but they do. And it's in a believable organic way, not a predictable cliche way. The characters are flawed and raw, but they are also loving and growing. I feel like the first few episodes focus more on the conflict, and later ones focus more on the growth.
I c a n n o t stand his wife and oldest son. They make my blood boiiiiilupdate: what a warm story, it made me…
I also love how they gave background so we could really understand how the son came to be the way he is. He is imperfect, and healing, and becoming a better version of himself. It really showed how often times what looks like mean behavior from the outside is coming from a place of pain.
Still HELLA lostIs she a twin? Was her father the evil Gu?The best part is the Lin siblings coming in like Rocket…
Major spoilers ahead:
They were twins, but since the Gu family was poor back then, they put one kid up for adoption so they could afford to raise the other one. Evil Papa Gu later forced the kid he kept to steal important business secrets from her beloved fiancé, so she did it and then killed herself. Unfortunately for Papa Gu, the thumb drive with the business secrets was password protected.
Five years later, Papa Gu kidnaps Su Yu and Qiao Mai, tells Qiao Mai he's her father and the truth about the past, and tries to force them to give up the password to the thumb drive. He also fabricates a scandal to drive down the Su company stocks to make them cheap enough to buy them out, but the Lin siblings beat him to it and buy the stocks first. Then, thanks to Su Yu's planning ahead, another partner company had people following them around, so the kidnapping was quickly discovered and the lovebirds were quickly rescued.
Agree that scene with the Lin siblings at the end was amazing. I was also amused by Su Yu stopping Papa Gu by pointing out that killing *both* his kids would be a little extra.
Heavy communist propaganda in this drama. One is bulls*it. They said communist pursue democracy thats why they…
I mean, the original goal of early communist writing WAS democracy. It just didn't pan out that way. And remember that Mao had not come to power yet. The KMT stopped advocating Democracy (except in lip service) after Chiang Kaishek took over after Sun Yatsen's death, which is part of what lead to the split. Many of Chiang Kaishek's most vocal critics, and the most vocal advocates for democracy, were assassinated, which certainly would lead the rank and file to believe that fighting the KMT was fighting for democracy. The history is complicated. However, it's probably fair to say that most of the revolutionaries were pro-democracy unless they were in power - then they were pro-everyone-listens-to-them. Not an uncommon theme in history. So the teacher and the soldier, who were not high up in power, most likely did believe they were fighting for democracy.
I made it pasted 2! BUT for me there is so little interaction between the leads that I don't even know them. I…
They get together pretty quickly after the misunderstanding. Honestly the premise is probably better than the show, but I still mostly enjoyed it. The ending was a bit absurd and requires some degree of suspension of disbelief. I'd say watch a couple more episodes and see if it sticks.
There is no sexual assault. He just made it look like she and him has sex for the pictures. He admits nothing…
It may not have been rape, but it was still sexual assault. Kissing, touching, and taking off someone's clothes while they are unconscious would legally constitute sexual assault (at least in my jurisdiction).
